I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Amidst the confusion, a ray of hope appeared.
The fact that there was a way to escape from this place helped to regain some of my fragmented sanity.
Collectibles.
There are a total of 20 collectibles that can be collected in LMM.
‘I can leave once I collect all of them.’
Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly what the collections are.
Earlier, just thinking about the ‘severed wrist’ automatically triggered the collection. Does that mean other collectibles will also be automatically collected when I recall the related information?
I’m not entirely sure…
Nevertheless, the thought that there was a way out has put my mind somewhat at ease.
“…Ugh, what is this again?”
Tommy groaned as he doubled over in discomfort.
I quickly rushed over to him.
“Tommy, are you okay?”
The system message stating that I can now act on behalf of Heyna’s will was not a lie. Instead of just spouting predetermined lines, I can now speak for myself.
“No, my stomach is still churning, but that’s not important right now. More importantly…”
Tommy’s eyes scanned the empty space.
No… it wasn’t empty. Although I couldn’t see it, Tommy was clearly looking at something.
“Heyna, don’t you see this?”
“…See what?”
I couldn’t see what Tommy was pointing at.
“…Maybe my brain is playing tricks on me. Suddenly, I see something like letters.”
Tommy thumped his head with his fist.
Wait, letters?
“What does it say?”
“Well…”
Tommy was about to answer when Rose groaned and stirred, making a sound.
“Rose, are you okay?”
I went to Rose’s side with Tommy.
Brushing her disheveled hair slowly, Rose stood up and blinked, staring blankly at the empty space. Seeing her like that, I immediately understood.
She, too, was seeing something just like Tommy.
“What is this…?”
Her slender finger pointed at the empty space.
“There are letters written on a blue board…”
Upon hearing Rose’s words, Tommy’s eyes widened.
“Rose, do you see it too?”
Before Tommy could finish his sentence, Zion spoke with a serious expression.
“Tommy, Rose, do you both see a message?”
“A message? You mean something about clear conditions written on it?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, I see it.”
“Me too.”
Tommy and Rose both nodded their heads at the same time.
Could it be that even the three of them can see the system message now? But why can’t I see anything?
I didn’t see the message that Tommy mentioned, with clear conditions written on it.
“Can you see it too, Heyna?”
In response to Zion’s question, I nodded my head first.
If everyone else is seeing the same message and I’m the only one who can’t see anything, it would be suspicious.
“From now on, all of you are the ‘players.’ If you clear one of the conditions below, the game will end, and you can leave the mansion.”
Tommy read the message aloud. Then he continued, “There are three clear conditions.”
Zion recited the conditions.
The conditions Zion mentioned were…
- Achieve the True ending.
- Eliminate the Villain
There were only two conditions.
‘You said there were three!’
The answer to the question came right away from Zion.
“I can’t read the rest because the text is too distorted.”
“Me neither.”
“Same here.”
The text being distorted was suspicious. However, there was something even stranger.
‘Eliminate the villain…?’
Was there a villain in this game?
“Are you saying we are the players? What does that even mean?”
“So, are you saying that we are trapped here in some kind of game, and in order to escape this mansion, we have to achieve one of the conditions?”
Rose shouted angrily, her voice rising. “To lock people up in a place like this and call it a game. What the hell are they thinking?”
“It’s going too far.”
“I don’t know who’s behind this, but do they really expect us to go along with this kind of prank?” Tommy responded decisively to Rose’s words.
“Well, then what do we do?”
“What can we do? We have to get out of here right now.”
“But there’s no way out.”
“Well, we’ll find a way by exploring around…”
“Just because we wander around like that doesn’t mean we can easily escape, and whoever trapped us here wouldn’t show us clear conditions like this.”
Rose closed her mouth tightly in response to Tommy’s keen observation.
“For now, it seems like we have no choice but to follow the clear conditions written here.”
While the three were having a conversation, I was thinking about the true identity of the villain.
The secret of the mansion was revealed in the true ending of LMM.
In fact, the ghosts in this mansion were the people who lived in Clarence mansion, generation after generation.
They either don’t know that they’re dead or are still lingering in this mansion due to grudges.
Ghosts haunted the mansion in which the characters and the player were trapped. The player discovers the ‘Orb of Souls’—brought and placed within the mansion by the previous owner, the Clarence family—in the true ending.
