I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
“Earlier, the place where Tommy was was a hidden room that could be accessed via a ladder inside a room on the first floor. The ladder and the room leading to the second floor weren’t marked on the map, right?”
Everyone nodded at my words.
“In the same way, the path leading to the third floor might also be hidden somewhere in a room on the second floor.”
“That’s right. When I briefly looked around the second floor earlier, I didn’t see anything that looked like a staircase. Right, Zion?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“Then, instead of wasting our time looking around the second floor again for nothing, wouldn’t it be better to look around the rooms on the second floor, like Heyna suggested?”
“…I guess so.”
Zion nodded with a reluctant expression.
“Then let’s split up and investigate the rooms on the second floor.”

Moments later, Tommy found the red-doored room.
[The path forward lies within.]
Inside the room, an ominous message was written in red.
As we all stepped inside, the red ink began to bleed like blood, revealing a hidden message written in black beneath.
[There is but one door.]
“No kidding. There’s only one door to begin with. What are we supposed to do?”
“That’s not blood, is it?”
Tommy and Rose seemed uninterested in the clue.
There is but one door.
The only thing we could do with this clue was to close the door we came through.
Since there could only be one ‘door’ in the room, closing the door we entered through would reveal another door hidden within the room.
“There is but one door… what could it mean?”
Realizing the letters were a clue, Zion approached the wall. Rose and Tommy also looked around the room curiously.
‘Now’s my chance.’
I subtly leaned against the door.
Creak—
The door closed.
BAM!
The lights on the ceiling turned on, and a door that had been hidden to the right of the lettered wall appeared.
“Whoa, where did that door come from?”
“Why all of a sudden… ah!”
Looking around with bewildered eyes, Zion briskly approached me.
Oh no, why are you coming this way!
My heart pounded with anticipation as Zion seemed ready to corner me like before. As if he could sense my anxiety, Dekir pulled me toward him.
Fortunately, Zion’s target wasn’t me, but the door behind me.
Thud, thud.
Zion yanked on the door repeatedly, but it was firmly locked and wouldn’t budge.
“As I thought,” Zion said with a grin.
“The letters on the wall were a clue.”
I pretended to be ignorant, even though I knew everything.
“A clue? What are you talking about?”
Zion eagerly explained as if he had been waiting for this moment.
“There is but one door, which means that in order to find the path forward, the door we came through must disappear.”
“I see!”
I widened my eyes and nodded repeatedly.
“I had no idea. You’re amazing, Zion.”
I intentionally exaggerated my praise in case Zion noticed that I had closed the door.
“It’s nothing special. Anyone could have figured it out.”
Zion smiled modestly.
[‘Zion’s favorability toward ‘Heyna’ has increased by 1.]
Why is my favorability going up again? I don’t need your favorability!
“Heh.”
A faint chuckle came from behind me.
“Dekir?”
Zion also seemed to have heard Dekir’s chuckle and called out to him in a puzzled voice.
“That laugh just now…”
Before Dekir could finish his sentence…
“Cough, cough!”
Dekir coughed violently.
“Deki?”
After coughing a few times, Dekir quickly regained his composure and chuckled softly.
“I must have swallowed wrong. Excuse me. Did you call me, Zion?”
“…No, it’s nothing. Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Thank you for your concern, Zion.”
Zion looked slightly awkward but turned away without saying anything else.
As Zion approached Tommy, who was trying to open the door that had appeared on the wall, and Rose, who was trying to stop him, Dekir whispered in my ear.
“Heyna is kind.”
“Huh? What are you talking about all of a sudden, Deki?”
“You knew what the clue on the wall meant, but you pretended not to know.”
“Wh, what?”
“You did it to make Zion feel better, didn’t you?”
“N, no. I didn’t know that it was a clue…”
I should have said that I didn’t know at all, but I couldn’t bring myself to lie when faced with his crimson eyes that seemed to see right through me.
“Keep it a secret from the others.”
Dekir nodded with a grin after hearing my words.
I thought I had acted naturally.
Judging by the fact that Zion’s favorability had increased, there shouldn’t have been anything wrong with my acting. Yet, Dekir had seen through me and realized that I was trying to please Zion.
‘That sound I heard earlier was definitely a chuckle.’
To Dekir, who knew everything, Zion’s clueless antics must have seemed quite amusing.
The reason he had pretended to choke and naturally transitioned the situation was because he didn’t want to create a situation where I would be in trouble.
‘Dekir really is quick-witted.’
It was the moment when my lingering suspicions turned into certainty.
What had just happened, and Dekir’s strange actions in helping me up until now.
‘There’s no way Dekir, who is so perceptive, wouldn’t have noticed my suspicious behavior. He’s been helping me even though he knows everything.’
If Dekir had realized that I was the villain…why was he helping me?
There was so much I wanted to ask him.
