I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 53
Chapter 53
“What the heck? There’s another door inside?”
“Yes. There are three doors in total.”
What? That can’t be right…?
“Let’s go check it out, Dekir.”
Startled by Tommy and Rose’s voices, I quickly ran towards them.
I’ll have to talk to Dekir about this later when we’re alone.
For now, checking the door is the priority.
Cautiously, I entered the door and saw three doors, just as I had heard from outside.
[Past]
[Present]
[Future]
As soon as I entered, I saw the sign [Present] in the center, with [Past] on the left and [Future] on the right. And on the table in the middle of the room were three walkie-talkies.
‘The structure of the room has changed.’
Originally, when you open the door to a room, you should see a locked door and a hint to unlock it.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but let’s just open them for now.”
Tommy suddenly opened the door with the sign [Past].
“What the heck? It’s so dark I can’t see anything!”
I could see a corridor that seemed to lead to another room, but it was too dark to see what was inside.
“It’s the same here.”
“I can’t see anything here either.”
It was the same with the Present and Future doors that Zion and Rose checked.
“How about we each go into one room and check what’s inside?”
Zion nodded in agreement with Rose’s suggestion.
“But that will take too much time.”
We checked the timer.
[00:59]
I thought we found the room with the red door pretty quickly, but it’s already been 11 minutes.
‘Right. I don’t know how much things have changed, but if we go through each room one by one, we’ll run out of time.’
“Since we have walkie-talkies here, it would be better to split into three teams and search.”
Three walkie-talkies.
Three rooms.
Like Zion said, maybe the reason these walkie-talkies are here is to have us split into three teams and enter the rooms.
“There are three rooms, but there are five of us. How are we going to split up?”
As soon as Tommy finished speaking, a familiar selection window appeared before my eyes.
[You can earn a special bonus reward if you escape the room with a partner.]
[Your favorability with the chosen partner will increase by 1.]
[Who would you like to be with?]
1. Rose
2. Zion
3. Tommy
4. Dekir
It was the same selection window I saw when we played hide-and-seek.
Partner selection again?
This time, there was no need to think long and hard.
I had something I wanted to ask him, and if I had to choose one person out of these, it would be Dekir because I felt most comfortable with him.
Without hesitation, I chose Dekir. As if he had been waiting for this, Dekir spoke up.
“I want to go with Heyna.”
“Huh?”
Dekir showed his usual gentle smile.
“Because of what happened earlier… I don’t feel comfortable leaving her alone.”
“… Are you two dating?”
Dekir immediately answered Tommy’s question, which was filled with disbelief.
“No.”
“Then what’s with the…”
“Not yet.”
‘Not yet?’
His meaningful statement made the atmosphere freeze for a moment.
‘Not yet, he says. That means!’
Does he mean that he wants to date me?
“Ahem.”
Zion cleared his throat and stepped forward.
“Okay, I understand. So, the rest of us…”
Zion’s gaze alternated between Tommy and Rose. Rose then spoke up, sounding a little embarrassed.
“I don’t want to go alone either.”
“Then Rose, you should go with Tommy.”
As soon as Zion finished speaking…
“What? No way!”
“Why Tommy, of all people!”
Both of them exclaimed in unison.
“If I had a choice. I’d rather go alone than with him.”
“Same here, but Zion, why don’t you just come with me?”
“Yeah, don’t try to pawn him off on me.”
“What? Pawn me off? Are you treating me like an object now?”
“Then what are you going to do?”
After a brief lull, Rose and Tommy began to bicker, bite, and fight again.
“Calm down. How about we settle this fairly with a game of rock, paper, scissors? Whoever gets the same result will go together.”
“Fine by me. I’m not about to get stuck with Tommy!”
“Oh, you’ll be crying your eyes out when you end up going alone.”
The two declared confidently that they would never get the same result as the other, and they played rock, paper, scissors. The results were…
“This can’t be…”
“.…”
In a flash, Rose and Tommy became a team.
“Now let’s decide which room to go to. I’d like to go to the future, but what about you guys?”
“I don’t care either way.”
Rose sounded disgruntled, clearly not happy about being paired with Tommy.
“Heyna, what about you?”
At Dekir’s question, I glanced at the signs on each room.
Past, Present, Future.
‘Zion picked the future, so that leaves the past and present.’
If I had to choose between the two—
“I want to go to the present.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Rose replied, “Then I’ll go to the past with Tommy.”
Rose and Tommy to the past. Me and Dekir to the present. Zion to the future.
We each grabbed a walkie-talkie and stepped into our chosen rooms.
