I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 34
Chapter 34
There was a knock at the door.
“Heyna, are you in there?”
At the sound of Dekir’s voice from beyond the door, Rose’s face turned pale and she grabbed my hand tightly.
“See! He came looking for me because he knows I’m talking about him.”
‘I think he just came because we were taking so long.’
I didn’t say that out loud because it was obvious that Rose would get even angrier if I did.
“Okay, Rose. Let’s go out and talk to Dekir for now.”
“No! Why should I talk to that man?”
“If you don’t want to talk to Dekir, I’ll talk to him instead.”
After much coaxing, I managed to calm down Rose, who was acting like a child, and opened the door.
“Sorry. I was worried because you two were taking so long.”
His red eyes softened as they met mine.
‘This Dekir pushed Rose away and glared at her as if he wanted to kill her?’
Looking into his kind eyes, which seemed incapable of even hurting a fly, let alone glaring at someone, made me think even more that Rose must have seen it wrong.
“Dekir, I have something to ask you.”
“Yes?”
“I heard that you threatened Rose earlier. Is that true?”
“…Ah.”
The eyes that had been smiling just a moment ago darkened instantly. He bit his lip and let out a short sigh.
I had expected him to say that Rose had misunderstood, but his reaction was different from what I had thought.
He answered with a face devoid of any smile.
“It’s true.”
His deep voice, which I had never heard before, rang in my ears.
“It’s true… So…”
Dekir really threatened Rose?
Unable to say anything in response to this unbelievable fact, Dekir sighed and said, “I was so nervous because I thought I had to protect Rose. I guess I was so nervous that I ended up being cold to her without realizing it.”
“…Then, what about pushing Rose away?”
“A bat suddenly flew out and Rose was startled, so she hugged me…”
Dekir played with his bangs and continued in a hushed voice.
“I’m embarrassed to admit it, but it was my first time being that close to the opposite sex, so I… without thinking…”
As he said that, Dekir’s cheeks flushed a faint red, as if to show that he really was an innocent man who had no immunity to contact with the opposite sex.
“I was already nervous, but I was so flustered that I pushed her away without thinking. I was going to apologize properly later, but Rose seemed really angry… I was already trying to figure out what to do.”
So it was a misunderstanding after all.
I grabbed Rose’s hand, who was hiding behind me and clinging tightly to me, and pulled her out.
“You heard that, right? Rose.”
“….”
Rose still glared at Dekir with her cat-like eyes that were wary of strangers.
“I’m sorry, Rose. I didn’t know it would feel so threatening.”
“….”
“It’s my first time being with a pretty lady like you, so I was very nervous. I will never let this happen again.”
Rose’s expression, which seemed like it would never loosen, softened a little.
“Please forgive me just this once.”
At his sincere apology, Rose snorted and turned her head away.
Rose, who haughtily raised her head and crossed her arms, spoke in a high-toned voice.
“Okay. I’ll let it go this time because of Heyna, but that doesn’t mean I trust you completely. I’ll be watching you from now on.”
She had been suspicious and scared of Dekir until just a moment ago. Rose, whose mood had completely changed with just one apology, was so cute that I couldn’t help but smile.
‘Thank goodness. It’s nothing serious.’
On the way back to the room.
Dekir whispered to me as I followed Rose, who was walking ahead of me.
“Heyna, actually, I lied about something earlier.”
A lie? Wasn’t it all resolved?
“Earlier, I told Rose that she was pretty.”
“Yes, you did.”
“Actually… I don’t think Rose is that pretty. If it was Heyna, it’s different.”
“.…”
I looked at Dekir with a dumbfounded expression and said bluntly, “Why are you suddenly saying that? It’s not really important.”
“No, it’s important. I don’t want to be misunderstood by Heyna. And…”
Dekir scratched his cheek with a shy smile.
“You said you don’t like people who lie.”
My heart pounded at his words that suddenly came out of nowhere.
When I said ‘I hate liars’, I didn’t mean something like this.
I couldn’t help but smile as I thought about why Dekir was correcting this trivial lie.
I thought he was a mature person, but… he has a cute side to him.
