I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 33
Chapter 33
After Heyna and Zion left, Rose and Dekir were left alone and continued walking in silence. Rose and Dekir often chatted in front of Heyna, but when they were alone, they had nothing to say.
‘Awkward.’
Rose wanted Dekir to talk to her first. Her pride didn’t allow her to talk to him first.
However, Rose’s wish did not come true. Even after 10 more minutes, Dekir remained silent.
‘How can he not say a word for 10 minutes?’
At this point, Rose was starting to feel annoyed.
‘Surely he doesn’t plan to keep his mouth shut until we get back?’
In this dark and gloomy hallway, anything could jump out at any moment. Rose shivered as she walked, hearing the sound of dripping water and the faint creaking sound of the old wooden floor.
Surely, a decent man would reassure a woman in this situation?
However, Dekir didn’t even care for Rose. He walked ahead of her and didn’t even look back. He even walked quite fast, making Rose take long strides to keep up with him.
‘He was so kind to Heyna. Was it all fake? Or maybe he doesn’t see me as a woman?’
Rose, who was thinking to herself and feeling down, finally spoke first, “Walk a little slower.”
At Rose’s sullen voice, Dekir stopped abruptly.
Then, she took a step back when she saw his face as he turned around.
‘What- what is this?’
The expression on his face was completely different from the Dekir that Rose knew. His eyes were expressionless and sunken. His mouth was tightly shut, and there was no hint of a smile. His cold face was unbelievable, considering that he always had a kind smile on his face.
“Oh.” He let out a groan quietly as if no one could hear it, and then he smiled broadly as if nothing had happened. “I guess I was walking too fast.”
Rose doubted her eyes and ears.
‘How can a person change their expression and voice so quickly?’
Rose was bewildered by his attitude, which had changed so drastically that it was hard to believe even after seeing it with her own eyes.
“You, what was that look just now?”
“What?”
“You were looking at me like I was a bug.”
“What? Me?”
Dekir’s eyes widened, and he shook his head as if he had no idea what she was talking about.
“Why would I look at you like that? Maybe you saw it wrong because it’s dark?”
“…Is that so?”
At his confident attitude, Rose thought that she might have been mistaken.
‘Yes. Like what he said, it might be because it’s so dark around here.’
Even though she still felt uneasy, Rose nodded her head, trying to deny it.
At that moment…
Flap!
Black wings hidden in the darkness flew past Rose’s eyes with a loud noise.
“Ack!”
Rose screamed in surprise and instinctively wrapped her arms around Dekir’s waist. And then…
Thud!
As soon as Rose’s body came into contact with Dekir’s, he pushed her away. Rose fell to the ground and hit her tailbone. Her hands, which had been holding his waist with all her might, fell limply to the ground.
Normally, Rose would have yelled at him, asking what he was doing.
However, she couldn’t say anything.
“….”
It was because of the blood-red eyes that flashed in the darkness. The red eyes looking down at the fallen Rose were filled with murderous intent and disgust.
Rose’s instincts screamed that something was wrong with this man.
‘I wasn’t mistaken.’
He was really looking at her with eyes that seemed to see her as a bug. No, even worse than a bug.
Rose squeezed her eyes shut at the sight of him looking at her as if she was a piece of waste, a combination of all things dirty and disgusting. Her mouth was dry, and her fingertips were cold.
“Rose. Are you okay?”
His fingers, as cold as his eyes, touched Rose’s hand, which was resting on the floor. Rose violently shook off Dekir’s hand, which was trying to grab hers.
“Don’t touch me!”
“I’m sorry. I was so surprised just now that…”
Dekir furrowed his brows and put on an expression that seemed to show genuine remorse.
‘Did he think I’ll fall for that?’
His attitude just now wasn’t something that could be passed off as mere surprise. Rose was certain that all the affection and kindness he had shown her until now were nothing but an act.
The cold glare she had just seen in his eyes and the ruthless way he had pushed her away without a second thought were definitely Dekir’s true nature. Rose made up her mind to tell Heyna about this first.
* * *
I was taken aback by Rose’s sudden statement.
“Dekir? Why?”
Did the two of them have a fight or something?
It was possible if it was Tommy. But I couldn’t imagine Dekir fighting with Rose. However, if nothing had happened, there was no way Rose would have gone through the trouble of bringing me to the bathroom and speaking so cautiously.
“What happened?”
“That man…” Rose hesitated for a moment before continuing. “He looked at me like I was a bug.”
“What?”
“He pushed me away and glared at me like he wanted to kill me.”
“…What?”
Dekir?
I thought back to all the times I had seen Dekir. In my memory, Dekir always had a gentle expression and a smile on his face.
“Rose, are you sure you didn’t see it wrong?”
“No! I saw it clearly.”
Rose, her feelings hurt because I didn’t believe her, stuck out her lower lip in a pout.
‘Judging by Rose’s reaction, it didn’t seem like she’s making this up…’
How did this misunderstanding even happen?
I needed to calm Rose down first and then ask her about it slowly. What happened between the two of them while I was gone?
“Rose, calm down for a moment…”
Just as I was trying to appease the agitated Rose…
Knock, knock.
