I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 113
Chapter 113
Rose had said something odd earlier. She’d warned me to stay away from Dekir but hadn’t explained why. Dekir’s question just now, though, made one thing clear. ‘Something happened between them.’
“Did something happen when you were alone with Rose?”
“….”
“Dekir?”
For a fleeting moment, his eyes hardened, then softened back to their usual warmth. “I’m sorry, Heyna. I made another mistake with Rose.”
“A mistake? What do you mean?”
Dekir’s eyebrows drooped, his voice losing its energy. “Ever since she received the guidebook, Rose has been anxious. And after I went to meet you, Heyna, she got even worse. She just kept crying.”
“After you went to meet me? You mean this morning?”
“Yes. I’m not sure what happened, but when she came back, her clothes were soaked in blood.”
My heart plummeted. I hadn’t noticed any injuries on Rose earlier…. That’s why I hadn’t felt too guilty about not opening the door for her. ‘I was too careless.’
The chilling sound I’d heard outside… the pool of blood in the hallway… I knew Rose had been through something terrible. But my mind had been so preoccupied with Dekir that I hadn’t properly checked on her.
“I should have looked after Rose… I’m so clumsy; I couldn’t comfort her properly.”
Dekir confessed, his voice strained, that his anxiety and stress had led him to treat Rose coldly, just like last time. “She probably thinks I’m a terrible person because of that.”
So that was it. That’s why Rose had suddenly asked if I liked Dekir romantically and asked me not to get close to him. ‘Rose didn’t think Dekir was a great man.’ Rose liked me. It made sense she’d say something like that as a concerned friend.
“It’s all my fault. I should have been more attentive.”
“No, Dekir. It’s not your fault.” I tried to comfort him. “I’m the same. Rose went through something scary because I didn’t open the door. I should have opened it….”
“Heyna, you had lost your memory and thought we were ghosts. It’s natural that you didn’t open the door. It’s not your fault.”
“Still….”
“It couldn’t be helped. Don’t blame yourself, Heyna.”
Dekir’s comfort eased my mind a little. “You too, Dekir. You didn’t mean to be cold to Rose.”
“That’s true….”
“If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t have been able to comfort Rose either. So don’t worry about it. I’ll talk to Rose later.”
“Thank you, Heyna.” His previously downcast expression brightened. “So, now that we’ve settled that…”
Where had the three of them gone?
“The three of them took the elevator.”
“Oh my!”
Just as I was starting to relax, Napolitan’s voice suddenly came from behind me. I jumped and grabbed Dekir’s arm.
“They all took the elevator?”
“Yes, that is correct.”
“Don’t lie.”
Zion and Tommy, maybe. It had taken me a while to get back here; they could have gone up ahead to wait. But not Rose.
“Heyna, wait! Don’t go in!”
“This elevator is creepy. It just looks suspicious!”
“We have to take this to go up? There’s no other way?”
Rose had been reluctant to take the elevator. And she went up alone? ‘Impossible.’
“I’m not falling for your lies this time.”
“I apologize for not earning your trust. However, I swear I have not lied to you.”
“How long do you intend to keep lying so shamelessly?”
“Excuse me, but may I ask which of my statements you believe to be false?”
Huh, which of his statements I think are false? All of them, of course! I decided to bring up the most crucial point that had just come to mind.
“You told me last night that there was no pool of blood, no bloodstains in the hallway.”
“Yes, that is correct.”
“Then why were Rose’s clothes covered in blood? The blood I saw was Rose’s!”
“No.”
“What?”
“It was not Rose’s blood.”
“Don’t lie! Then whose blood was it…?”
“It was likely my blood that you saw.”
Napolitan explained his ability. Rose had seen a monster created from Napolitan’s blood, and what I had seen were the remnants of his power.
“Then, about not seeing any bloodstains on the way to my room…”
“After escorting Rose to her room, I retrieved all the blood. It was a precaution, in case it caused harm to other guests. Therefore, as I said, there were no bloodstains remaining.”
