I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 109
Chapter 109
“…What?”
Rose shrieked, her face ashen. “This isn’t the time to be standing around!”
Unlike the frantic Rose, Dekir remained calm. “If we don’t stop her soon….”
“Don’t worry, Rose. Heyna won’t leave without us.”
“What? Didn’t you hear what the butler just said?”
“Yes, I heard it clearly.”
“Then why are you spouting such nonsense?”
“Nonsense—perhaps it sounds that way.”
‘Is this man out of his mind?’
There was no time to waste, and yet he remained so nonchalant.
‘This won’t do. I have to stop her myself.’
Convinced that Dekir had no intention of cooperating, Rose strode towards the door, determined to leave, come what may.
However, Dekir blocked her path.
“What are you doing? Get out of my way!”
“I can’t.”
His gaze, firm in his refusal, was directed at something other than Rose. Rose followed his line of sight, but couldn’t discern what he was looking at.
“Heyna will be here soon, and it would be troublesome if we missed each other.”
Dekir’s voice held the unwavering certainty that Heyna would come.
“How can you be so sure?”
Rose wavered, taken aback by his confidence. ‘There must be a reason for his composure.’
“Because….”
Rose waited, tense, for his next words, holding a sliver of hope for some grand revelation.
“Heyna still likes me.” Rose burst out laughing at his words.
“Are you insane? What does that have to do with anything?!”
***
‘Insane—not entirely wrong.’
Contrary to Rose’s worries, Dekir was perfectly sane. And simultaneously, completely out of his mind.
The former meant he understood the situation perfectly.
[[Heyna] What should we do now?
Heyna smoothly changed the subject.
[Zion] Since there doesn’t seem to be a good solution… shall we try taking it?]
Dekir had been observing Heyna’s every move. He already knew she was headed for the elevator, even without the 3rd-floor caretaker telling him. He understood perfectly what would happen if Heyna took the elevator and proceeded to the next chapter. Yet, the reason he gave Heyna the crucial clue to discover the 3rd-floor caretaker’s true name was simple.
‘Even without further prompting, Heyna will remember me.’
Dekir believed it. He believed that Heyna would remember him and come to him.
This baseless faith and soul-risking gamble stemmed from everything he had witnessed of Heyna so far.
“Are you, okay?” The gentle voice, laced with fear, cautiously inquiring when they met in the 3rd-floor corridor.
“Don’t go, Heyna.”
The hesitant look on her face, unable to easily dismiss him despite believing him to be a ghost.
“Don’t go, Deki!” Her lips, uttering his name unconsciously, even without fully remembering him.
Heyna was vaguely recalling Dekir’s existence, even without any information. Moreover, even now, with her memory of ‘Dekir’ erased by the 3rd-floor caretaker’s ability, Heyna was showing him affection.
‘This means I’ve become someone special to Heyna, to the point where she feels instinctively drawn to me even with her memory loss.’
From the moment he realized this, Dekir couldn’t remain sane. He was overjoyed that he had become someone special to Heyna.
“Well done, Heyna. Now, come here.”
A smirk crept onto his lips as he recalled the moment Zion’s confident expression crumbled. If he could, he would embrace Heyna right in front of Zion, look him straight in the eye, and laugh.
‘Of course, I won’t do anything like that.’
Heyna wouldn’t appreciate such childish behavior.
“…Are you really sick?” Rose asked in a bewildered voice, having heard Dekir’s unintentional chuckle. She genuinely seemed to think he was out of his mind.
And she was right. He wasn’t sane. Heyna’s trust, her attention, her affection—he had it all. Yet, he was choosing to simply wait for her to remember him, even though everything could be ruined in an instant.
‘But I can’t help it. I’m no longer content with simply receiving her affection.’
He couldn’t be satisfied with just being by her side. From the moment he was certain of Heyna’s feelings, Dekir yearned for a deeper connection with her. He wanted her to love his true self, not a fabricated image. He wanted her love to be born of her own volition.
That’s why he decided to wait for Heyna to remember him and come to him on her own. Like a princess captured by an evil demon, waiting for her prince to rescue her.
‘Somehow, the roles have been reversed.’
