I Reincarnated As A Villainess, But Why Did I Become A Cat Butler Instead? - Chapter 177
Chapter 89.1
Dimitri went inside and brought Rowaine out. Surprised that she couldn’t control her body, she began apologizing to him.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why Dimitri is here, but I didn’t realize I was this drunk. Ack, did I step on your foot just now?”
“Don’t worry. You can’t step on anyone’s feet right now.”
Rowaine’s condition seemed severe, seeing that she wasn’t even aware that he was holding her.
She then chuckled softly, seeming unusually cheerful.
“You’re dependable, Dimitri.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
As he held her tightly, he helped her onto the carriage.
Inside the carriage, Elaine was already sitting with a composed expression. As he glanced around, Dimitri chased away Cadis, who was attempting to board with ferocious eyes. Seeing that, Cadis slumped his shoulders and retreated to the coachman’s seat.
Whispering softly, Elaine’s voice resembled that of a pitiful lark.
“I’m sorry, Duke Blois. I should’ve stopped the Duchess. Please don’t be too upset, she was in a very good mood today.”
Dimitri glanced briefly at Elaine with an indifferent gaze.
“There’s no need for the Princess to defend my wife.”
Elaine sensed the temperature difference in Dimitri’s gaze when he looked at Rowaine and when he looked at her. Although she momentarily lost her words, she regained an innocent smile again.
“It’s because we became friends! And if we’re friends, it’s only natural…”
He cut off her words with an uninterested look.
“What I meant was, I didn’t mean to take offense in the first place, Princess.”
Elaine smiled awkwardly.
“…Is that so? You didn’t seem pleased.”
It was clear that she thought Dimitri was a difficult person. Still, he willingly let her think that way and didn’t bother to defend himself. Nonetheless, he responded bluntly to her concerns, finding it bothersome to continue the conversation.
“As long as it’s something Rowaine wants to do, she has the right to get drunk.”
Then, he turned his head towards Rowaine. Seeing her face flush as she fell asleep, a wry smile appeared on his face.
‘It’s the first time I’ve seen her like this.’
Restless, Rowaine tossed and turned, evidently uncomfortable with their shoulders overlapping.
Unsure of how to ease her discomfort, Dimitri fumbled for a solution until he gently guided her arm to rest around his own. Eventually, with her head nestled on his shoulder, her movements gradually subsided.
Unaware of the smile that graced his face, Dimitri glanced at the woman in his embrace with a hint of a smile.
A delightful fragrance emanated from her, and this time, he even detected the sweet scent of grapes, which he liked mixed in as well. As he gazed down at the woman’s arm entwined with his own, he had completely forgotten about Elaine’s presence somewhere along the way.
While he was doing so, Rowaine murmured softly.
“Dimitri…”
“Yes, Rowaine.”
“I’m hungry.”
“We’re almost there, so I’ll have the chef prepare the food.”
At his words, she shook her head and whimpered like a child.
“I want custard cream, ginger cookies sprinkled with lots of sugar on them… and a lot of custard cream.”
“I’ll make sure to convey your request.”
“It’s cold. Cold and firm custard cream… The yellow one… a lot…”
It sounded like a whisper in her sleep.
Amused by her murmurs, he let out a soft chuckle, but his laughter subsided when his eyes met Elaine’s gaze. She was leaning against the carriage windowsill, observing him intently.
At the same time, Elaine swiftly averted her eyes, redirecting her attention to the scenery outside the window, maintaining her composed decorum. Leaning her forehead against the cool glass, she softly hummed a melodious tune.
“Love… Oh, love for you…”
Dimitri turned his attention back to Rowaine, seemingly uninterested in the song she was singing.
Elaine glanced at Dimitri and Rowaine with a strange gaze.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Rowaine, who seemed like she would fall asleep as soon as she entered her room, surprisingly opened her eyes wide and firmly demanded some snacks.
“Custard cream, Dimitri. I told you, remember?”
At first glance, she didn’t appear intoxicated. She maintained such a composed expression that if she hadn’t stumbled a few times or if Dimitri hadn’t supported her, no one would have thought she was drunk.
To maintain her dignity, he quickly sent Elaine to her room before ordering the butler.
“Derek, tell the chef to prepare yellow custard cream with a thick texture and ginger cookies generously sprinkled with sugar. Oh, and make sure the cream is chilled.”
Rowaine cheered enthusiastically and applauded Dimitri’s seamless request.
