I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 94
A burning thirst came.
I went out the door of the hidden room. I hugged Euseniel’s back, who was in front of me, when she turned her head around.
Now I hugged the woman who came into my arms and exited through the door that was not yet closed.
“Tess?”
“You were curious why Hill Palace was different in size from inside and outside, right?”
“Huh? That’s right.”
“It’s because there’s a hidden room.”
Fearing that Euseniel might run away, I strengthened my arms that were hugging her.
“I can’t see it very well.”
“You’ll see it if you go further.”
The warmth and refreshing smell soaking my body made me think that it was good for me to do this.
You know, Euseniel. I hope you know some of my secrets. It’s so hard to hide it from you.
“Look over there.”
As I whispered, rubbing my lips in her small ear, Euseniel looked up and stared straight ahead.
“… What is that?”
I came to my senses at her agitated voice.
I’m crazy.
“Tess?”
Why couldn’t I hold it in?
In the meantime, Euseniel untied my arm and headed forward.
In front of the charred black corpse, the blue light made it even more grotesque.
“It looks like a person? Who is this?”
“The first Emperor.”
“What?”
“Aren’t you afraid, Euseniel?”
What if she says she’s scared or grossed out?
Let’s erase her memory then. It makes her forget all the disadvantages like what I did to other things…….
However, Euseniel did not mind it. I feel like I want to laugh at my fear.
“What is that blue light? Is it because the body oxidizes? But you said it was the first Emperor. How could a body remain this far in the future?”
“Puhahahahaha!”
Oh, Euseniel.
“It has a permanent preservation spell on it.”
A monstrous thing created by the devil to exist on the ground while the contractor is gone.
She was unconcerned about what a normal living creature should feel repulsed by. Or is she pretending to be calm?
Neither of it is an option for her to abandon me, so I shouldn’t erase her memories.
I want her to be ‘the whole her with nothing changed’.
“I can’t see the door from the outside, but how can you get in?”
“You can inject magic into the empty wall next to the bed.”
“Does the type of magic matter?”
“No. It’s a matter of quantity, not kind.”
“Uuhh.”
Euseniel, who tilted her head, puts her hands together and starts praying for something. After the seemingly solemn action was over, I grabbed her hand and dragged her along.
Coming out of the black and dark room, I can see Euseniel’s face even better. I covered her tiny face. The golden powder glittering in the dark green eyes dazzles my eyes.
“Were you praying before? What did you wish for?”
“My magic skills aren’t improving these days, so I wanted to quickly become a super-class wizard.”
I laughed. Euseniel didn’t ask me anything. So instead I asked.
“If I wait until Euseniel gets tired of studying…….”
“…….”
“Can we get married then?”
Euseniel turned her head to one side in trouble.
“Answer me, Euseniel. Huh?”
Even though I know the conversation she and Arden Gilber had, Euseniel doesn’t find me gross. I am relieved by the feeling that I can clearly see her even if I cannot see her soul.
“I don’t know.”
In the end, Euseniel grumbled. She was so cute that I laughed out loud.
“Is it you who broke the tower?”
I immediately closed my mouth, and Euseniel exhaled lightly.
“If you’re not spying on me, how do you know all about me? Tell me. Are you going to say that it’s the first emperor that I saw earlier that has told you?”
“… Well, similar.”
Euseniel widened her eyes in a rare way. She looked very surprised when I kissed her on the lips. Then she sighed, but she said nothing.
Instead, Euseniel took off my outer garment and said a word.
“I’ll be by your side, so go to sleep.”
I frowned to catch the meaning of the words that came out of her small mouth. Then, her pretty fingers pressed between my eyebrows.
“I’ll literally stay by your side all night.”
Euseniel, who said she would stay by my side, seemed unfamiliar that I asked back.
“Why?”
“Shall I go?”
“No!”
I hurriedly grabbed her slender wrist.
“No, Euseniel. I won’t ask anything, so stay by my side.”
Euseniel opened the blanket and brought a chair next to the bed and sat down.
“I’ll stay by your side, so sleep well. Don’t worry, I’ll be here when morning comes.”
Even if I grabbed the hand that was smaller than mine, she wouldn’t shake it off.
“Won’t you lie next to me, Euseniel?”
I asked cautiously, and surprisingly, Euseniel easily accepted. Taking off her cloak and draping it over the chair, she lay down next to me.
And she looked at me as she laid beside me.
“Go to sleep.”
A feeling of drowsiness came from her gentle hands that were caressing my hair. There was no whisper in my ear anymore, so I was indeed able to sleep soundly for the first time in a long time.
* * *
“Euseniel, Euseniel.”
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling someone tapping my cheek.
“Euseniel, I’m going to the meeting.”
I blinked at hearing Tess’ voice suddenly. Oh, I slept in the palace.
“Are you going to eat lunch, Euseniel?”
“No, I have to go.”
“Come again next time.”
Tess, who lightly kissed my cheek, quickly left the room showing he was really busy.
I couldn’t see very well, but his face was fresh compared to the night before.
As a result, I saved Marquisate Gilber’s life. Their sins were passed on to others. I couldn’t say it was completely in vain, because there was the Emperor’s reputation behind it.
Members of other families whose lives were taken were, according to Father’s words, had a bad character. Even if it wasn’t for treason, they would have been sentenced to at least exile in the end.
Still, the Marquisate had to pay the price. They were deprived of part of the right to distribution of the magic stone.
“It feels like His Majesty had his eye on it from before.”
“Really?”
“Yes, Ciel. If the imperial family resell the magic stone, they can get their hands on a considerable line of funds.”
It was true as magic stones were a daily necessity, and I rather hoped that it was correct that Arden was in trouble for political reasons, not because he proposed to me.
Surprisingly, Mother didn’t ask me about the day I went to the imperial palace. Because she kept quiet about it, Father did not know that I had been to the palace.
