I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 91
Pretending not to hear anything, I continued on the matter.
“In case of emergency, there is also a way for our family to sponsor you.”
“I don’t accept Hardland’s sponsor.”
Weathering’s tone sounded different from usual.
The relationship between the sponsor and the sponsored person will create an invisible class. Weathering and I may not be as comfortable as we are now.
“Um, Weathering. I’m sorry if I offended you.”
“No, I’m sorry if I startled you. I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not that. No, the essence may be the same?”
The more he spoke, the closer it got to a murmur.
“I’ll be kicked out of my professorship later. If I have nowhere else to go, I’ll ask for your help, so don’t ignore me then.”
Weathering, who had returned as usual, laughed as he said so. I laughed too.
But the curiosity in my head didn’t disappear.
These days, the monsters are quiet, the southern empire is quiet, and the country is quiet, so Father had been coming home on time.
“Father.”
“Yes, Euel!”
While Mother went to the Daidi residence with Gael, I visited Father’s study. I sat down on a chair in front of him, and asked straight away.
“Do you know why the former Duke Lantia passed away?”
Father’s handsome face stiffened, but I kept my smile.
“Please tell me.”
“Euel.”
Before Father could say ‘Euel, Dad doesn’t know,’ I struck first.
“If Father doesn’t tell me, I will have no choice but to go looking for people who might know. Ummm, Regan Liesl or Nus? Who else?”
“Eu, Euel.”
“We might see eye to eye with each other after hearing the details, but Father won’t mind, right? Come to think of it, it’s Arden Gilber, Gilber’s eldest son also has a good personality.”
“Euel!”
The screaming Father covered his face with both hands. His shoulders trembled pitifully, but I didn’t give in.
Father, who was watching me through his fingers, finally sighed.
“It is still something of a question. The prevailing opinion is that his political opponents must have assassinated him.”
“Political opponent?”
“Yes. Of course, I wasn’t in the capital at the time, so I don’t know what the atmosphere was like, so I’m just guessing, but I agree with that.”
“Is it Liesl or the Marquisate?”
I don’t think the Lantia family is that lax.
“No, I think a scarier person than that.”
Scarier?
“The exact reason why the former Duke Lantia was assassinated is known only to the current Duke Lantia. Because they had a funeral in a hurry without an autopsy.”
Father seemed to have a guess of his own. But I realized that he would not give me the answer.
“Father, I have one more question for you.”
“Eeeuuuueellll.”
I asked Father despite his whole face screaming ‘Please stop.’.
“Could the former Duke Lantia have a child out of wedlock?”
“I really don’t know that, Euel.”
Father, who had returned to his usual look, shook his head.
“That is a very sensitive issue to any family, and they will try their best to hide it.”
I quietly nodded.
“Euel.”
“Yes, Father.”
Father looked at my face for a while with eyes like sapphires, and he looked like he was about to cry.
“As expected, Dad is against marriage.”
Huh?
“Because Dad had answered you already, you won’t meet the guys you mentioned earlier, right? Right?”
The tension that had swelled to the limit inside me was released with that.
“I might run into Arden in the lab.”
“Why is that guy coming to the lab? No, did you say Weathering Blest? It’s better than being with him.”
Father, who had been clicking his tongue disapprovingly, suddenly grabbed my hand.
“Euel, it’s a secret from Mom. Understand?”
“Of course.”
“Let’s take a walk with Dad after a long time?”
“Sure.”
Father’s hand was the same as usual, but the fear that could not be erased from him was transmitted to me. I didn’t know why, but I strengthened the hand I held together.

“Laura, tell the butler that I will be using the second parlor tomorrow morning.”
“Yes, Miss.”
I glared at the name of the sender of the letter on the desk.
Arden Gilber, I didn’t know why he suddenly sent me a message saying he wanted to visit Duke Hardland’s residence. We should be able to talk about what he needs in the lab.
Is it something between families?
I looked up various materials, thinking that he might want to talk about business related to magic stones.
When I faced Arden that day, I realized that I didn’t need them at all.
As we sat down, Arden’s voice trembled, but he calmly brought out what he wanted to talk about. I couldn’t believe his words, so I asked him back.
“You like me?”
“Yes, Euel.”
Tension was visible from Arden’s brown eyes.
“Spending time with Euel, albeit for a short period of time, made me feel affection for you.”
He was being serious.
“Euel’s hard work in everything is my role model, and it makes me want to become that kind of person too.”
The smile that usually filled his face was nowhere to be seen.
“Will you marry me?”
Not let’s be partners, let’s go out… but to get married?
It is not unusual to be proposed to because I hadn’t dated while being at the right age for marriage. However, marriage was not something readily to me, perhaps because it was outside of my life.
The young man sitting across from me gulped down and reminded me of the reality that I was lost in.
“I am going to propose to you.”
“Oh, Arden. So this…….”
I chose my words carefully.
“… You know this is unusual, right?”
“It is customary for the family to send a marriage proposal, but I thought it was important to ask Euel’s feelings first.”
My mouth seemed glued because it was unfamiliar to me when it came to valuing the other person’s heart rather than practicality.
“If the family moves instead, wouldn’t Euel be in trouble? There would be gossip in one way or another, but I didn’t want to cause such damage to Euel.”
