I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 84
Count Daidi, who was near the entrance, greeted Aurin and Ethyl with the same boisterous gestures he had done to me.
“Who is this! Isn’t this Marquis Xuen and Lord Bonart!”
The tall Count, who had held a sword when he was young, laughed out loud. His voice was so booming that I could hear it even when I was not close.
“Lord Bonart, when will you partner with my daughter? Ruby loves Lord so much that she can’t sleep every night. Ha ha ha ha ha!”
“Father!”
His daughter, standing next to the Count, blushed as her name suggests.
Could it be that Count Daidi sent the marriage proposal to Bonart?
“Will you dance at least one dance with my daughter today? Marquis Xuen, will you yield Lord Bonart?”
Count Daidi is being rude for forcing something but it was difficult to just get angry. If Aurin said no here, she would be stamped as a narrow-minded person.
Good luck, Ethyl. Everything depends on you!
“Euel?”
Weathering caught me trying to get close to my friends. He pulled me away and moved cautiously.
“Shh.”
“That seems difficult, Count.”
Ethyl, who would have hardened his face in the past, now refuses with a slight smile, perhaps because he has become more flexible.
“Yes? Why?”
“I just want to focus on my partner.”
“Even if you have a partner, don’t you dance with other people? I think Marquis Xuen is fine too.”
Count Daidi continued to force, and the target he asked was Ethyl. He was ignoring Aurin. The former Marquis Xuen couldn’t be treated so carelessly.
Aurin still maintained a calm expression.
“I don’t want to, Count.”
“Lord Bonart?”
“I don’t want to leave Marquis Xuen in anyone else’s hands.”
“Haha, Lord Bonart. What is the need to hold only one person? You have to go through a lot of people.”
What is with that crazy guy?
“Oh, my friends are here.”
“Oh, Euel.”
As I spoke to her, Aurrin approached me with eyes shining and greeted me with open arms.
“Aurin.”
“Euel.”
Aurin smiled and hugged me.
“Are you two familiar?”
“Marquis Xuen has been a close friend of mine for a long time.”
I looked at the other person straight in the eyes.
“Count Daidi.”
“Hoo, the friendship between the Duchy and the Marquisate. Amazing.”
“Since it’s a friendship between the Duchy and the Marquisate, it has to be stronger.”
When the Count pointed out the long-standing feud between the Duchy and the Marquisate, Aurin and I responded by saying that we were closer.
“Of course, this is not just a matter between me and Marquis Xuen, but it is also a story between the Marquis and Lord Bonart.”
“Haha, Lady Hardland came back from exile, and now seems to not be able to tell the difference between where to intervene and where not to intervene.”
In an instant, the atmosphere cooled.
“Apologize!”
“Why should I be like that, Lord Bonart? I said the right thing.”
Despite Ethyl’s protests, the Count remained calm.
“I’m not like Lili Xuen, as she’s a commoner now, right? Even His Majesty will have no reason to punish me.”
Count Daidi was sarcastic and mentioned the Emperor. I squeezed my hand hard to keep me from clenching my fist.
“And Lady Euseniel and Lord Bonart are still just babies. If you want to raise your flag upon me, inherit the title and come.”
That was right.
Aurin was right when she said people wouldn’t be friendly to me. And Aurin, what you missed is that not everyone feels anxious about the Emperor.
Count Daidi is in a condescending position. The diamond mines were inherited to him, but it was the Count who grew and maintained the business.
Of course among Ethyl, Aurin and me, only Ethyl is the one who was advancing on his own.
“Why, will you call His Majesty again?”
“No. The Count is right, except that His Majesty had said not to mention the Hardland exile.”
Count Daidi snorted. He seemed full of confidence that his neck would not blow off.
“The Count seems to value individual abilities more than family.”
“Haha, you are right. If I hadn’t appreciated the Lady’s knowledge and the Marquis’ efforts, I wouldn’t have invited you.”
Me and Ethyl were ones who can become the Dukes in the future. If he tells us this much, he’ll admit that he has his own beliefs, even if they’re mere bluffs.
I’d rather tell him off coolly like this. If that’s the case, then I can treat him accordingly.
“Euel?”
Weathering approached and called me in a worried tone.
I took off the glove and threw it at the Count. The white lace glove hit the Count’s shoulder and fell down.
“I heard you’re good at swordsmanship, Count. I ask for a duel.”
“Hey, Euel. The Count is strong.”
Ethyl came over and whispered, but I did not falter. Rather, I got more excited.
“Since I’m half-elf, you can apply for a handicap.”
“Puhahaha!”
Count Daidi laughed for a long time and wiped the tears from his eyes.
“Alright, then I won’t say no.”
“Tell me.”
“There is an ore found while developing the mine. It was the first of its kind, but it seemed like it would be very sharp if it was well crafted. So I made a sword with it, but the processing makes it very heavy.”
The Count wrinkled his forehead.
“I called in the strong and did an experiment. The only thing they can do is lift it, but no one can wield it right.”
It wasn’t difficult to ask.
“Fight me with that sword, Lady.”
“Very well.”
“Euel! Why do you agree without checking the sword?”
“Don’t worry.”
“Euel, Count Daidi is famous for his warlike nature.”
Arden approached before I knew it. I just laughed.
After being guided and changed, the middle of the party hall was empty. The Count, who had changed into a sparring suit like me, asked.
“Are the clothes okay?”
“Yes.”
With Count Daidi’s gesture, the door to the hall opened, and two stout men groaned and brought something.
Booom!
Placed on the floor, it made a heavy sound and onlookers widened their eyes.
“This is it.”
