I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 170
Tess’s behavior seemed more about desperately trying to keep Weathering at a distance than teasing him.
From me.
What are you seeing right now that makes you act this way?
Leaving him here seemed dangerous. The madness that had been subdued was beginning to bubble up, so I lightly shook the hand we were holding.
“Tess.”
“Yes, Euseniel?”
He seemed quite surprised when I dropped the formalities in front of someone else. His eyes slowly blinked before his lips curved into a smile.
“Weathering has his own matters to attend to, let’s not bother him and leave.”
It wasn’t for Weathering’s sake. It was for Tess that we needed to leave this place.
Even if I agreed to marry you now, would that calm you? Last time, you went on a rampage thinking I had abandoned you. Even if we were married, the anxiety might not disappear.
It seems all my plans to simply be by your side or to use force to prevent a rampage need to be reconsidered.
“Your Majesty.”
“What is it?”
Weathering stopped us as we were about to pass by.
“I have a request, now that we’ve met.”
“What would that be?”
“I would like a few days’ leave to visit the County Daidi’s domain.”
A high-ranking wizard couldn’t just leave the capital on a whim.
“For what reason?”
“A unique mineral was recently discovered in County Daidi’s domain.”
Tess nodded as if understanding.
“I’ve heard about it. A mineral that looks like diamond but has a different structure?”
“Yes. I’m hoping it might be used to create a device capable of dimensional travel. That’s what the reports suggested, but I think it’s best to verify it myself.”
Unlike his interaction with Carin Heights, Weathering appeared extremely composed. His emotional changes usually don’t show much outwardly, which is why I was surprised earlier.
“Hmm…”
Tess seemed to ponder for a moment.
Traveling from one space to another is possible through teleportation or magic circles.
What Weathering dreams of is traveling between dimensions like I do.
Of course, I haven’t revealed all my past memories, and while I’ve mentioned visiting the Fairy Realm, I haven’t spoken of other dimensions. So he might not be aware of civilizations in different dimensions.
However, there are various other dimensions.
Including the Fairy Realm, the realm where dragons live, or the realm where monsters live.
Previously, Weathering mentioned that being able to travel between dimensions would greatly aid in combating monsters.
His personal wish included visiting the ancient city of Britis, that was protected by a strong barrier. Britis was the name of a country that dominated the continent before the Northern and Southern Empires were founded.
Britis is indeed located on the same continent as the Northern Empire, yet it’s inaccessible due to a barrier that separates it as if it were another dimension. This is why Weathering is interested in finding a way to traverse dimensions.
In my case, it was about returning to the world I had lived in during a past life, and now, new curiosities have emerged.
If I were to travel to a dimension where monsters live…
Would the devil live there?
Could I kill that devil ? And if I did, would Tess be freed?
“Alright, proceed with that. Discuss with the Archmage to set a date. Tell the Magic Tower I have permitted it.”
Tess accepted with significant dignity.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
Weathering, who bowed again, remained calm as he made another request.
“And I would like Euel, no, Lady Hardland to accompany us.”
“…What?”
The smile on his face twisted before I could even take another breath.
“If you need an additional researcher, it doesn’t have to be Euseniel.”
“No, it has to be Lady Hardland.”
Despite the immense pressure, Weathering’s expression didn’t change.
“There is no ‘human’ as knowledgeable about dimension traveling as the lady.”
Of course, excluding Tess, Weathering was correct.
“Additionally, County Daídi’s domain has always been a spot where magic gatherers and periodic magical storms occur. Have you ever witnessed a magic storm, Euseniel?”
“Yes.”
“It’s a place where you can predict when and where magical storms will occur, making it ideal for observation. Doesn’t that pique your interest?”
The proposal was incredibly tempting, but I couldn’t readily agree, especially since Weathering was the one suggesting it. What a sad turn of events.
“I’ll think about it and let you know.”
“Why? Wouldn’t it be better to discuss it now since His Majesty is also here?”
Weathering didn’t back down and expected an immediate agreement. Although Tess was smiling, I knew it wasn’t out of amusement.
“I think Your Majesty knows that Euel is an excellent prospective scholar. What do you think, Your Majesty?”
“My situation is what matters since I’m the one going.”
I intercepted the answer before Tess could respond.
“I already have a scheduled plan, how can I give an immediate answer?”
“Ah, right. My apologies for being inconsiderate.”
Weathering backed down as if he had never pressed for an answer. Both he and Tess seemed sharp enough that I didn’t feel the need to point it out further.
“Let’s go, Tess. It’s getting late. See you next time.”
I deliberately did not use Weathering’s name.
He did not try to stop me as I turned to leave, and Tess quietly followed. Though we had arrived separately, we left together towards the palace.
“Go ahead, Euseniel. You want to go, don’t you?”
“What?”
Is he feeling alright?
I touched his forehead, but his temperature seemed normal.
“I don’t want to hold Euseniel back. I still dislike that man, but Euseniel likes studying, right?”
“Tess.”
“Euseniel’s heart won’t change because of it. I won’t be worried.”
Tess smiled softly as his eyes folded warmly.
“So go ahead, Euseniel.”
