I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 163
“I thought it would be a good idea for Gael to join as well. I’ll oversee Pyce’s swordsmanship training, so can you ask Pyce to take a look at Gael’s political studies? And maybe include history lessons if possible.”
“Sure. He’ll happily agree.”
“Ethyl, Gael will attend her political classes at the Bonart house. She’ll also go there for her history studies.”
Blink, blink, blink. Ethyl blinked three times rapidly, then suddenly grabbed my hand.
“As expected, you’re the only one, Euel!”
“Remember to repay this favor later, okay?”
“Of course!”
Ethyl, looking as if he could soar with happiness, suddenly turned serious and asked.
“Euel, what’s your relationship with that Lantia guy?”
“Lantia? Are you talking about Dr. Blest?”
Ethyl nodded.
“Some knight was asking if Lady Hardland and a senior wizard were engaged or something similar.”
“They think Weathering and I are like that?”
“Seems so. Someone wants to send a proposal to the senior wizard, but first wants to check if he’s engaged. It’s for his sister.”
People sure love to make assumptions about men and women. I denied it, but he and I did meet often in person.
Ah, should I stop learning magic? If Tess hears about this, he won’t just be disheartened… he’ll be furious.
“Tell them we’re not involved in any way.”
“Got it. I should get going.”
Ethyl left with a brisk step, a stark contrast to his arrival.

In the morning, Father returned home after a long time.
“Father, you look tired.”
It was true.
“And… you seem to smell a bit…”
Not really.
“You used to look so dashing, but today you seem a bit unkempt.”
Father, who still boasted a handsome appearance despite his age, seemed quite shocked. He stood still for a while.
“I’m joking. Welcome home, my still handsome father.”
After a light hug, Father hugged me back as if released from a spell.
“I thought I had forgotten your face.”
“I missed my daughter too.”
Father’s embrace was incredibly warm.
Having apparently stayed up for several nights, Father had dark circles under his eyes. He slept through the afternoon. He woke up as the day began to fade.
For the first time in a while, our family gathered for a light tea time.
“Is the situation coming to a close, Millen?”
“For now, the construction of the watchtowers and the tower is progressing smoothly. We’ve enlisted wizards to speed up the completion.”
Father, still not fully recovered from his fatigue, kept pressing his temples.
“The Southern Empire’s army retreated as if they were waiting for it. It’s a relief, but His Majesty advised us not to let our guard down.”
From the slightly troubled look on Mother’s face, it was clear she knew the full story behind the Southern Empire’s troops gathering.
“Gael, do you understand what Dad is saying? You’ve been diligently attending political lessons, right? I heard from Duke Bonart.”
Caught off guard by the sudden shift in conversation, Gael looked startled.
“Of course! I’m really putting a lot of effort into it!”
“That’s great, Gael. Dad believes in Gael. Make sure to show me the results of your hard work later, okay?”
“Yes!”
Listening to Gael talk about what she’s been learning, with Mother chuckling and Father chiming in. This has always been a part of our lives.
Unlike the distant memories of the past, it now feels like ‘my everyday life’.
“Alright, Gael aims to be a knight, and Euel, are you still planning on being a scholar? ‘Scholar Euel’ does sound impressive.”
“Master.”
The happiness on Father’s face, beaming just moments ago, was interrupted by none other than the butler.
“Master, there’s a visitor.”
“Suddenly? Who is it?”
The identity of the guest mentioned by the butler was so significant that everyone rose from their seats. The surprised look on Father’s face suggested it was an unexpected visit.
The person standing at the entrance was quite familiar to me.
“Welcome, Chancellor.”
“I apologize for visiting unannounced again.”
“Not at all. Please come in.”
The Chancellor chuckled as he stepped inside, followed by a tall figure in a long cloak and deep hood.
Even from a few steps away, a sweet, enticing fragrance wafted through the air.
The Chancellor kept laughing softly.
“I fear I might be intruding on your family’s precious time together.”
Father called the butler to prepare to serve the guests. A quick glance at Mother revealed she recognized who was under the cloak.
“The Chancellor’s companion is…”
Realizing who it was, Father let out a light sigh.
“They’ll join us, of course?”
A low laugh came from beneath the hood. Smooth, long fingers slowly lifted the hood, revealing black hair that momentarily fluttered, and the strikingly pale skin beneath stood out.
“You really did come, after all.”
Father’s mild rebuke was met with a smile on the rose-like lips.
“I’d like to stay for dinner if that’s alright, is it?”
“If I say no, would you leave?”
“Of course not.”
The man smiled cheerfully and greeted us with a bright face.
“Hello, Duke. Duchess. Lady Hardland.”
A playful light shone in his softly curled eyes.
“And Euseniel.”
There was only one person who didn’t call me by my nickname.
“…..Hello.”
I had thought he was unusually quiet.
“Your Majesty.”
My lover.
