I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 125
My heart was overwhelmed with the scenery that I kept drawing in fear of forgetting. It vaguely reminded me of memories. On the one hand, my worries weighed heavily on me.
Can I just go and visit her?
There is no guarantee that she is at home and most of all she may not live here now. The jars might be used by new people.
Should I call her first? What if her number has changed?
“Woah… I’m such a fool.”
It’s not that I didn’t expect this kind of situation, but when I encountered it, my mind turned to blank paper.
“It would be easier to catch a wolf with my bare hands.”
My legs were shaking, so I sat down on the lower steps. As I stared at the ground, a shadow fell over my head.
“Excuse me, Miss.”
I got up in surprise because I didn’t even know someone was approaching me.
“Do you need anything here…… ?”
The person who called me was a middle-aged woman carrying a shopping basket, and the moment I met her pitch-black eyes, my surprise disappeared without a trace.
Still petite, her hair must have been dyed and her eyes were filled with wonder. Even the smile lines that she hated, still remained
“Oh no, Miss. Why are you crying all of a sudden?”
“What? Why am I crying, ah.”
My face was wet as I fumbled with my fingertips. When I touched my eyes, there was warm water hanging from them. My vision started to blur and the face that I longed for shimmered in my eyes.
I quickly wiped away the tears with the back of my hand, but it didn’t stop.
If I appeared in a completely different form, Mom would not believe me, so I had counted for various cases.
The most plausible way I can think of is not crying like an idiot…….
I opened my mouth, but my voice couldn’t come out.
Mom, it’s me. Mom’s daughter.
I couldn’t even say the simplest words.
Obviously, I must have looked weird and stupid, but Mom didn’t blame me. She rummaged through her bag for something to wipe away the tears, but she couldn’t find the right thing.
I was relieved that the Mom that I saw through my tears was no different from what I remembered. She’s a bit hunched but I’m glad she looks healthy though.
The residential area in the middle of the day was quiet and uninhabited.
I cried without stopping, and Mom stared at me without a word. Then she slowly hugged me.
“Is this a dream?”
“…….”
“My daughter.”
I tried to let my voice out somehow, but like someone had blocked it, only creaks came out.
“Did you come to see Mom out of pity?”
My nose was obviously stuffed, but there was a warm smell I knew well. Tears could not stop at the soft and warm scent like a sun-dried blanket.
“I knew you would come because you’re a good daughter.”
Carefully, I embraced her small body in my hands. It was smaller than I remembered.
“I didn’t do anything for my daughter, but even after death, my daughter comes to take care of Mom.”
“…….”
“I thought I was dying, but knowing this, I am living.”
Mother’s voice also grew wetter.
“Now that I’ve seen my daughter, that’s enough.”
My heart sank at her somehow resigned voice.
I hurriedly grabbed Mom’s shoulders and shook my head.
“Mom, I am not dead. No, I am a living person.”
As I cupped her cheeks with my hands, Mother freaked out and let go of her shopping basket.
“I am reincarnated.”
I rubbed her red eyes with my thumb.
“Isn’t it warm? I’m alive, Mom.”
Mom squeezed my hand around her cheek and gently tightened it. It wasn’t until she held my hand for a while that she seemed convinced that I was a living person.
“I’m here to tell you that I’m doing well.”
“If you are alive…….”
Mom, whose face was drenched just like me, took my hand.
“If you’re alive, can’t you live here with Mom …… ?”
The sadness clings to her eyes.
– Even if you can go to that world, you are not a person of that world.
The Fairy King’s words echoed in my ears.
– If you don’t come back within the set time, you’ll die.
Like snow melting in the sun.
“I’m sorry, Mom.”
I squeezed her hand that was smaller than mine and begged for forgiveness.
“I am not supposed to be here. But I came secretly because I thought Mom would miss me. I am happy.”
I wiped the tears from Mom’s cheek with my dress, but it was not enough.
“I will live happily ever after. There is someone who follows me around because he likes me. He has been chasing me for over 10 years.”
“…….”
“He is the Emperor.”
Mother’s eyes widened.
“Hehe, are you surprised? I’ll marry him when I get back. I’m going to be the Empress. I’m going to live a very good life.”
I forced my lips up as I wiped the tears welling up in my eyes.
“So Mom should live happily too. In that world, I will think of Mom every day, so think of me every day here too.”
I took my hand away from Mom for a moment and opened the package I brought.
“You see, Mom. Where I am, there are many strange things. Science has not developed, but magic has developed. This is a magic potion, if you drink it, you can sleep well. Mom doesn’t sleep well. It will be energizing, and…….”
I kept holding back the tears that were about to overflow.
My hands were shaking, so I took an allergy medicine and said it was a medicine to improve her eyes. It was really stupid.
I wrote all the medicine on the bottle, so Mom could read it later.
“I prepared this because I thought it would suit Mom.”
It wasn’t until I brought something precious like the main character in the old story who found a hidden treasure, did my fixed feet seems to want to move.
“Mom, I have to go.”
“My daughter, come in for a while. Huh? Eat before you go.”
“Mom.”
The woodcutter ate the porridge his mother cooked for him, and eventually failed to return to heaven.
“I really have to go.”
I had made up my mind to go back, so I couldn’t show my death in front of Mom again.
The signal was already coming.
The pain was much greater than the ones I felt in the nightmares and in the fairy world. My face contorted over and over again from the pain that seemed to sever my limbs and intestines.
