I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 123
“Then can you tell me why I am like this?”
“What, do you not even know what you have in your body?”
The Fairy King asked in an astounded tone.
“That thing on your body.”
Her long finger pointed to my heart.
“Something that is not your magic is mixed in. Something very different from your nature.”
I tensed my body in case she caught Tess’ heart that was hanging around my neck, but fortunately she didn’t.
“I wouldn’t normally accept it, but it’s possible because you’re a mixed blood with a human. Human blood mediates the clash between elven blood and evil.”
There’s only one thing that comes to mind. My lover, who gave me the heart and the sword, told me to keep it, and said that I could absorb his magic.
“Does it have anything to do with the devil?”
I was able to ask the Fairy King the question that I hadn’t been able to ask.
“Do you know the devil?”
As I was neither affirming nor denying, the Fairy King twinkled her eyes with interest.
“Yes, I can feel that dark and shady thing in you. But your body is fine, it’s the first time I’ve seen it.”
The assumption turned out to be true, but surprisingly she was not agitated.
“Is there any special meaning in sharing magic with others?”
“The desire to monopolize.”
It was the perfect word to describe the person who gave me his magic. I thought Tess had grown up seeing me sending me off calmly. But it didn’t seem like it at all.
“Isn’t it something I can use?”
“It can be used, but it is clear that there is a limit to accepting other people’s magic in the first place. But you have quite a lot.”
The Fairy King frowned.
“It’s strange, very strange.”
She shook her head and muttered, then suddenly threw a question.
“Shall I get rid of it?”
I refused without hesitation.
“Thank you for the offer, but I will not get rid of it.”
“Why? Even if you have it, it won’t help you.”
“Then will that harm me?”
“No.”
“Then it’s fine.”
If I couldn’t use the magic or it shortens my lifespan, I would have asked to get rid of it right away, but if not, I decided to leave it alone.
I was already too used to being surprised by Tess’ eccentricity.
“I might never get an opportunity like this again.”
“Yes, it is really fine.”
“You obviously didn’t know what was in your body, but you’re not surprised when you find out.”
“My life itself is already amazing to be surprised by something like that.”
“Haha, you are very special.”
“Yes, it is often strange.”
“Puhahahaha!”
The Fairy King burst into laughter and, unable to control herself, collapsed onto the floor. She laughed for a long time.
“Oh, it’s been a long time since a human being acknowledged her own strangeness like this.”
“Was there someone else besides me?”
“It’s not common, but there were a few. The woman brought by the golden dragon, or Siodra…….”
I don’t know about the golden dragon, but Siodra is definitely the founding Emperor. There were many things I wanted to ask about him too, but I held back as it was not appropriate now.
The Fairy King, who stopped laughing and returned to her original face, asked solemnly.
“Elf child, what did you want to know that brought you here?”
“I want to know how to go to another world.”
“Oho.”
The fairy’s gray eyebrows went up and down again. Her voice gained strength as the uneasiness gradually faded.
“You could say this place acts like a mirror to me, right?”
“We really do have a mirror.”
“What?”
“A mirror that can pass to another world exists.”
It’s not just symbolic?
“Can I see it too?”
“Yes.”
For saying it’s a treasure, is it okay to show it to a stranger like me? Perhaps noticing my question, the Fairy King grinned.
“The person who guards the rules of the world told me to listen to the wishes as much as possible when a half-elf named Euseniel Hardland comes along.”
“The one who guards the rules of the world?”
“Yes, the snow dragon Calisis.”
Calisis! The priest whom the temple could never tell his whereabouts. I never thought I would hear the news about him who had suddenly disappeared.
He is a dragon.
“What is ….the rules of the world?”
“You, Euseniel Hardland, who grew up in human hands, might not know. But there are some rules necessary to keep this world going.”
“What kind of rules?”
“For example, you shouldn’t raise the dead.”
Watching me take a quick breath, the Fairy King smiled.
“Do you understand what kind of thing it is?”
“Yes.”
“Besides the ones I just said, there are more complicated rules. There are people who deliberately or intentionally do not follow them. Dragons subdue such people, and play a role in reestablishing the rules that were being disturbed.”
For example, it can be seen as a kind of rule where no race can force other races to follow their laws.
“Lord Calisis is the most powerful among them, and he is the one who leads the other dragons.”
“Someone like that ask you to help me?”
“It would be closer to say he told us no to stop what you are trying to do than helping. We wouldn’t have picked you up if you couldn’t find the entrance to this place.”
So they’re only going to answer my questions.
“All right. Then show me the mirror.”
“Sure.”
“And tell me what I must do to get to the world I want.”
“Yes.”
I followed the Fairy King and soon headed towards the end of the field where all kinds of flowers grew. When I left the field, I thought my vision was getting dizzy again, and then the scenery changed.
There was only one full-length mirror in the vast field where grass rustled at ankle-height. The rim of the mirror, taller than the Fairy King, was wrapped in flower vines.
“The way to get to the world you want is simple.”
The Fairy King, who stood by the mirror, said plainly.
