I Don't Need the Grand Duke's Regret - Chapter 17
Chapter 17

Before Nasir could finish his words, Ezio’s loud cry came from outside the mansion. Armilla, who was waiting for Nasir to speak, turned her head and looked out the window.
And then, her face turned pale.
“We found the Princess!”
Ezio’s cry cut through the bitter wind and resounded through the mansion.
“…… Did they find her?”
Armilla whispered under her breath. As she peered out with a bewildered face, Nasir hurriedly got up.
Armilla sat stiffly until she heard the sound of the chair being pushed violently and Nasir stepping out of the study.
They found the Princess. Finally.
In Armilla’s eyes as she looked out of the window, she saw Ezio and the knights escorting a golden chariot. Then came Ricardo’s figure riding a horse at the forefront.
As usual, Ricardo was riding his horse with an unreadable face. Looking out at him, Armilla felt the blood in her body dry up at once.
‘I have to leave.’
She made up her mind to leave for the Magic Tower after they find the Princess. There is no place for her here anymore. A pledge is a pledge, so she must leave.
But her feet could not move. Armilla gulped down dryly and stared at Ricardo.
As he got off his horse, he talked to Nasir. As Nasir gestured and said something, Ricardo raised his head.
And Ricardo’s gaze as he looked up overlapped in the air with Armilla’s.
“Gasp.”
Armilla hid herself in surprise. She doesn’t know why she would do that. But even making eye contact with him seemed like something she shouldn’t be doing.
As Armilla curled up and leaned against the window of the study, the mansion began to grow noisy.
“They found the Princess!”
“Oh my God! This is a miracle!”
“Come, come get the Princess!”
Each of the servants in the mansion chatted loudly and praised the miracle. Some of them even mentioned Armilla’s name.
“What will become of Armilla now?”
“What is there to do? She has to go!”
“If it’s me, I will go out on my own feet before I get kicked out.”
Armilla listened to the maids’ giggling and slowly covered her mouth. She felt like if she didn’t she would scream.
Even if you guys don’t say it, I’ll go out on my own. So leave me alone.

“How, no, where did you find her?”
Nasir asked urgently as he took Ricardo’s cape. As he questioned Ricardo, his gaze turned to the golden carriage.
The Emperor’s carriage has been returning empty for nearly two months. There is the Princess in this carriage. He couldn’t believe it at all.
There is no other way to describe it other than a miracle.
“She was revealed as the snow melted.”
Unlike Nasir and the servants who got very excited, Ricardo was calm. When Nasir listened to Ricardo’s explanation, he sensed something strange in his words.
“She was revealed?”
“Yes.”
Ricardo said nonchalantly and approached the carriage. When he opened the carriage door, the servants who came out to greet the Princess each screamed.
The Princess, no, the one who “was the Princess” had a miserable appearance.
The Segolinde’s royal blonde hair was covered in dirt, and her dress, which must have been bright and beautiful, was a mess.
“Hiick!”
“My God… ”
“It is fortunate that the body did not decompose thanks to the cold. Nasir, did you send a letter to Segolinde?”
“No. Not yet.”
“That’s good. Otherwise, we would have sent a horse.”
Nasir, who had opened his mouth at the sight of the Princess’ body, slowly closed his mouth at Ricardo’s cold words.
“Ah. We need to start preparing for the funeral.”
Ricardo gave instructions for the Princess’s funeral to Paolo and Missus Catarina. Those who were horrified at the sight of the Princess’ corpse soon regained composure with the master’s calm voice.
Vittore was always like this. With Ricardo at the center, the people of Renato were able to take care of each other in the harsh cold without turning like animals. Everyone respected their Master
Nasir also calmly organized what he had to do. He has to send letters to Segolinde and the Imperial Palace respectively. And he has to prepare a funeral worthy of the Princess’ status with the butler.
The knights who did a great job in finding the Princess should be properly complimented.
Having reached that point, Nasir took off Ricardo’s armor and saw Ezio talking with the knights. Ezio was talking with the knights with a flushed face.
“By the way, what about Armilla?”
“What?”
Nasir, who had clicked his tongue slightly at Ezio’s frivolity, turned his head to Ricardo’s voice. Ricardo said, pointing to the study with his chin.
“Looks like she’s in the study. You didn’t tell her to rest today?”
“Yes, I did. She said she wanted to quickly learn to write.”
Ricardo frowned at Nasir’s answer. He asked with a questioning look.
“What’s the hurry for?”
“She said she wanted to leave as soon as possible…… Master?”
Ricardo left before Nasir finished his sentence. He brushed past the servants surrounding the Princess’ carriage and went up to the second floor where the study was located.

“What are you doing here?”
“…… Master.”
Armilla, who was shabbyly crouching in the study, raised her head slowly at the cold voice. She bowed her head, wincing at Ricardo’s cold gaze at her.
“Congratulations.”
“What?”
“You found the Princess.”
Armilla’s congratulations made Ricardo’s eyes narrow. He untied his black cloak, threw it on the desk, and said curtly.
“What’s the congratulations for?”
Armilla struggled to smile. She heard the footmen giggling that since the Princess was here they wanted to bring Armilla to their room.
She couldn’t look out, but there must be a festive mood outside the window. Armilla took a deep breath and said,
“I’m going to go to the Magic Tower now.”
“Why all of a sudden?”
