Chapter 50.1
“Not at all?!”
April couldn’t believe what Sophia was saying and asked again.
“Really?”
“Of course.”
“But…”
As if understanding what April was worried about, she began to explain.
“Do you know the name of the most popular cafe in the capital right now?”
“No, what is it?”
“It’s called Autumn’s Sunset!”
“Ah… huh?”
“And the second most popular one is Fairy of the Lake.”
“Ah…”
It seemed that cafe names around here leaned toward being poetic and whimsical.
‘If you think about it that way, Lilies of April doesn’t sound so bad either.’
April found herself growing fond of the name she had come up with on a whim. Looking back, she finally understood why Claude had said it was a good name on Asher’s birthday.
For a cafe in this area, it really was a fitting name.
‘And the fact that it’s based on my name makes it even more meaningful.’
A satisfied smile spread across her face.
“By the way, we’ll need to start hiring staff soon.”
“How do you think we should do it?”
Without hesitation, Sophia responded as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Through a newspaper advertisement, of course!”

After consulting with Sophia and Edmund, April decided to place a hiring advertisement in the newspaper. The advertisement ran in the Stanley Newspaper, the same publication that had first featured an article about Lilies of April. The response was incredible, far more people applied than they had expected.
‘I didn’t think we’d get this many applicants.’
Despite their preparation, the overwhelming number of applicants meant April, Sophia, and Edmund had to hold interviews over several days. After careful consideration, April selected employees who shared her vision for the cafe.
Two of them, May and Ethan, would be managing the main hall.
May was a woman with a striking brown bob, and Ethan was a man with a short black haircut. Both of them had prior experience working in cafes, which made them ideal choices.
“I’ll work hard from now on!”
“Please take care of me!”
“Yes, I look forward to working with you too. Let’s do our best together.”
With that, all the preparations for the cafe’s opening were finally complete.

On the much-anticipated opening day, May, who had been preparing to greet customers in the hall, rushed into the kitchen.
“There’s a huge line of people outside!”
“Really?”
April, Edmund, and Sophia hurried to the main hall to see for themselves. Sure enough, a long line of people had formed outside the cafe, far more than they had expected.
‘That’s… a lot of people.’
April’s heart swelled with a mix of excitement and a hint of anxiety. She quickly pulled herself together, clapping her hands to grab everyone’s attention.
“Alright, instead of just standing here, let’s get back to our stations and get ready.”
Humming a little tune to herself, she double-checked the espresso machine, pulling a test shot and steaming milk to ensure everything was running smoothly. After confirming that May, Ethan, and the rest of the staff were familiar with the menu one last time, the clock struck eleven, the official opening time.
“Alright, open the door!”
At her instruction, May flipped the sign on the door to the side that read OPEN, and customers began filing in, one after another.
April stood alongside her staff, greeting each customer with a cheerful voice.
“Welcome to Lilies of April!”
Her second life was finally beginning.

“May I take your order?”
“Yes, I’ll have a slice of Sachertorte and two Dalgona lattes. Oh, one hot and one iced.”
“Of course. Coming right up.”
May took the cafe’s very first order, and from there, the staff began attending to each table, taking orders one by one.
Most customers seemed drawn to the Sachertorte and Dalgona lattes. April worked with Edmund to brew the espresso and prepare the Dalgona lattes, while Sophia sliced the Sachertorte cakes stored in the fridge and plated them with care. The three of them watched quietly as May served the orders to the customers.
Before long, a customer who took a sip of the Dalgona latte exclaimed in amazement.
“Wow, this is such a unique flavor.”
“I’ve never had sweet coffee before.”
Even those who tried the Sachertorte shared similar sentiments.
“I thought this cake would be ordinary, but the tangy flavor is really good.”
The three exchanged smiles. Sophia, in particular, was overjoyed, her eyes quickly welling up with tears.
“They’re really enjoying my cake.”
