I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 84
Chapter 84
“What kind of magic did you imbue it with?” I finally asked, unable to contain my curiosity any longer.
“A protective spell, similar to the magical tool I received from Helena,” Kiris replied nonchalantly.
“Really?”
“Mhm. But since that alone wouldn’t suffice, I added a self-cleaning charm and a durability enchantment. So, you can keep it forever.”
While the news came as a pleasant surprise, it wasn’t entirely unexpected. It’s common practice to include a self-cleaning charm when enchanting jewelry.
However, Kiris’s next words shattered my budding hope like a fragile glass ornament.
“So… what do you mean by ‘protective spell’?” I inquired, a tremor of apprehension creeping into my voice.
Kiris pondered for a moment, stroking his chin thoughtfully before finally speaking.
“It’s nothing major. If you utter the activation word, any menacing entity will be reduced to ashes and vanish.”
“What?” I gasped, doubting my ears.
“Initially, I intended to use a high-level spell, but I had second thoughts. Perhaps incinerating them would be more effective than turning them into ashes? Or maybe…”
“No, no! It’s perfect,” I interjected hastily, realizing the madness of his proposition. This man was truly a villain in disguise, capable of uttering such cruel words without a hint of hesitation.
Before things could escalate further, I quickly plastered a satisfied smile on my face.
“It’s beautiful,” I declared, despite the overwhelming feeling of unease. Honestly, the ring was a burden, but there was no way I could return it. After all, it was a gift from the villain himself!
Pleased with my reaction, Kiris chuckled and added, “And the activation word is my name. The name your master gave me, Zion.”
I couldn’t fathom why Kiris would choose ‘Zion’ as the activation word.
“Right now, I prefer Zion over Kiris.”
“R-really?”
My eyes widened in surprise as I shifted my gaze to Kiris’s hand. He wore an identical platinum ring on the ring finger of his left hand. Noticing my attention, he twirled the ring around his finger and explained, “I wanted to match with my mistress. It’s the only way I can see you.”
“…?”
“Don’t you agree?”
With a meaningful glint in his eyes, Kiris gently took my hand and rose from his seat.
“My mistress, rest well. I’ll bring you some light soup.”
My stomach rumbled in agreement, grateful for the timely offer. As I nodded, Kiris vanished into thin air using teleportation.
Then, I stared in awe at the ring. Could I really accept this gift?
Even for someone like me, who wasn’t particularly interested in jewelry, this magical artifact was undeniably extraordinary. I recalled the mountains of dresses and trinkets I possessed back at home, along with Celia’s platinum ring.
‘But Kiris gave it to me.’
With a small, contented smile, I carefully examined the ring, turning it over and over in my hands.

While waiting for Kiris, I drifted off to sleep, only to be awakened by the arrival of unexpected visitors.
“I’m the maid hired by Miss Rosette! Therefore, it’s my duty to attend to her needs.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
And now, Mary and Kiris were engaged in a heated argument, each claiming the right to serve me. Naturally, I assumed Mary would cower under Kiris’s icy glare, but she stood her ground, her resolve unwavering.
‘I’m sure I didn’t say anything…’
As I recalled, Mary couldn’t even meet Kiris’s gaze when the mages first visited our home.
Feeling a pang of hunger, I cleared my throat, interrupting their bickering.
Both of them stopped arguing and turned to look at me simultaneously. Mary quickly approached with a warm bowl of soup.
“Miss, I brought you soup. Are you feeling alright?”
She attempted to hand me a spoon, but Kiris abruptly intervened.
“I’ll do it.”
“No, I’m Miss Rosette’s…”
Just as another argument was about to erupt, I decided to put an end to it by politely dismissing both of them.
“I’d just like to be alone for a while. My head hurts.”
After finishing the soup and attempting to rest, I was once again interrupted by the arrival of unexpected guests.
“Lady Rosette!”
“Lady, are you alright?”
It was Aria and Ailt, both dressed in their finest attire.
‘How did they find out about my collapse? I didn’t want to worry them, so I didn’t tell them.’
Confused, I locked eyes with Ailt, who quickly looked away with a pained expression.
It suddenly dawned on me. Ailt must have told Aria.
“Rosette, are you really okay? You have no idea how worried I was…”
Before I knew it, I was surrounded by a mountain of brightly colored flowers. Aria, tears streaming down her face, gently embraced me.
“Aria, I’m fine.”
I patted her shoulder reassuringly, but her tears continued to flow.
“But… I was so scared. Are you sure you’re alright?”
“I’m fine, Aria.”
Somehow, I found myself comforting Aria, holding her close.
The tables had turned, hadn’t they?
The heroine was worried about me!
