I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 67
Chapter 67
“Would you mind me confirming your divine power?”
I nodded at Noctis’s words. I was already concerned about my divine power, so it seemed like a good idea to know for sure.
Noctis took my hand and smiled.
“Please close your eyes and focus on the refreshing energy.”
As he spoke, divine power flowed from Noctis’s fingertips into my body.
A cool and refreshing sensation ran through my veins. So this is divine power!
My body felt relaxed and healthy.
“It’s done.”
A moment later, Noctis released my hand and looked at me.
“How is it?”
“It seems like you have a lot of divine power.”
“Divine power?”
“Yes. You should visit the temple often. We don’t know when your divine power will manifest.”
Noctis added that praying could also help manifest divine power.
“….”
I was so surprised that I couldn’t speak. I have divine power.
I didn’t understand why the God Moreus had given me divine power when I was just an extra who had possessed someone else’s body.
Was it out of pity? I don’t know.
I was surprised, but I didn’t feel bad. Having divine power meant being loved by God.
That way, I would be more likely to find out why I had possessed someone else’s body in this world.
‘If I manifest divine power, will I be able to talk to God?’
My expectations grew, and I nodded.
“I understand. I’ll definitely visit the temple again. So, does that mean that you have confirmed it, Sir Noctis?”
“Yes, that’s right. I thought it had something to do with the oracle, but it doesn’t. Thank you for your time.”
“Don’t mention it. I was going to come anyway. It worked out well.”
Noctis and I left the prayer room. Kiris, who had been waiting outside, frowned as he watched us walk side by side.
Then he came up to me and took my hand.
“Are you done? Are you okay? Did that priest do anything to you?”
“Huh? Nothing like that happened. I have divine power. The holy water reacted.”
“The holy water reacted?”
Kiris looked surprised when I nodded. He then met Noctis’s gaze.
Noctis bowed his head slightly and said, “After checking, I have determined that she has divine power.”
“Go on.”
At Kiris’s nod, Noctis continued.
“She has a little more divine power than ordinary people, but not enough to be a priestess.”
“I see.”
“Yes, but it seems like it would be good for her to visit the temple regularly. It hasn’t manifested yet, so nothing is certain.”
“….”
“It’s not related to the oracle?”
“That’s right. Well, I’ll be going now. I’ll send word to you, Sir Kiris.”
“Yes, thank you.”
And so, I left the temple with Kiris.
“Fortunately, Noctis didn’t say anything about the divine beast.”
I continued, trying to make Snow sleep more comfortably.
“But I have divine power…”
Kiris smiled.
“Everyone has divine power, but… if Noctis said that… I don’t like it, but it seems like you’re special, Mistress.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Should we walk this time?”
Kiris took my hand gently as he said this.
“Okay.”
I didn’t tell him that I had talked to Snow. It still felt like a fleeting dream.

The imperial palace, once resplendent and a testament to the empire’s golden age, was now cloaked in a heavy atmosphere. The current emperor, Kaizar du Setronia, had fallen gravely ill, rendering him incapable of governing effectively. In his stead, Crown Prince Cedric toiled tirelessly, the lights in his study burning late into the night.
“Your Highness, what shall we do now?”
Cedric closed his eyes briefly, tapping his fingers on the desk. The man fidgeted as he remained silent.
“Surely the spy carried out his mission as instructed. I confirmed with my own eyes that the witch was apprehended by the slavers…”
“Haidel.”
“….”
“Is this not a blunder on your part?”
The tapping fingers stilled abruptly. Piercing blue eyes fixed upon the man called Haidel.
“Ack!”
Haidel gasped, clutching his chest. A dark aura constricted around his body. As his face drained of color and his body began to slump, Cedric spoke.
“Haidel.”
“My… my apologies.”
“Do not make me repeat myself.”
Haidel nodded frantically, and Cedric averted his gaze.
Thud-
“Huff! Gasp…”
Released from the invisible bonds, Haidel collapsed to the floor.
“I am aware that you completed your task. I witnessed it with my own eyes.”
Haidel hastily knelt before Cedric, his eyes wide with fear.
“There seems to be a variable.”
“A variable… Your Highness?”
“Your feeble mind cannot comprehend it.”
Cedric’s blue eyes darkened ominously.
“Unless we eliminate this variable, our plans will continue to be disrupted. If necessary…”
A cruel smile spread across his lips.
“We must kill.”
“….”
“Have you ensured Damian’s safety?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“Good. He still has some use… Investigate Rosette, the partner of Kiris who attended the banquet.”
Cedric had taken note of Rosette, who had accompanied Kiris. Initially drawn to her presence by Kiris’s side, he had sensed an odd aura about her. Despite Kiris’s attempts to conceal it, he seemed to care for her.
