I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 45
Chapter 45
‘……?’
Cedric approached me, his gaze fixed intently on me.
“Who is this?”
Then, he glanced between Kiris and me and spoke in a voice as sweet as honey.
‘Ah, he knows Kiris.’
There had been rumors recently that Kiris had returned to the Magic Tower, so he must have come to greet him. However, Kiris seemed to be on bad terms with Cedric as his brows furrowed.
“Your Highness. It’s been a while.”
Kiris greeted him with a curt nod, his reluctance evident in his actions.
Cedric raised an eyebrow in displeasure but didn’t show it.
As the Magic Tower was an entity that even the Emperor treated with respect, he couldn’t easily mess with them.
I, who had been observing the exchange of glances between these fearsome figures of authority, greeted them awkwardly.
“I greet the Crown Prince of the Empire.”
“Oh, how interesting. Making acquaintances with someone, are you?”
Cedric looked at me and let out a sly chuckle. To anyone else, it would have been a dazzling smile that would make their heart skip a beat, but it felt different to me.
It was a strangely unpleasant smile.
He turned his attention away from me and spoke to Kiris.
“Isn’t it proper etiquette to visit the Imperial Palace first upon your return?”
“Since when did the Magic Tower have to follow the Imperial Palace’s orders?”
“…Doesn’t the Magic Tower exist because of the Empire?”
“Do you truly think so?”
Kiris wore an amused expression as he brushed off Cedric’s words. I watched anxiously from the side.
Even if the Magic Tower was powerful, wasn’t that a bit too much?
‘It must be because he’s the villain.’
I easily accepted the situation because he was the villain. In the future, he’ll make a contract with the devil and become the villain!
I realized once again that worrying about the villain was the most pointless of concerns.
“Recently, didn’t the Magic Tower have an accident while trying to obtain magical ingredients without going through us?” Cedric added, his face expressionless. “I was quite worried since the esteemed Tower Lord had been absent for several months.”
It was clearly a sarcastic remark.
‘The main character is different.’
Even now, his imposing aura as he kept the villain in check was extraordinary. I took a step back, murmuring, “Ooh.”
“If you were so worried, shouldn’t you have visited the Magic Tower? Well, I don’t know if they would have let you in.”
“…Haha. I’m busy with work at the Imperial Palace, you see.”
As their red and blue eyes met, it seemed like electricity was flowing between them.
“But who is this lady?”
After a moment, Cedric looked at me, his lips twisted.
I froze and looked at Kiris with pleading eyes.
‘Help me!’
Ignoring my desperate plea for help, Kiris stepped forward and spoke in a cold, sarcastic tone.
“Why should I tell you that? Why have you come all the way to the Amoni Flower Garden?”
Thanks to him, I was hidden behind Kiris’s tall figure, unable to see Cedric’s expression.
“I was just curious, so I asked. I suppose I should be going now, but I still haven’t heard the lady’s name.”
As Cedric trailed off, I was startled and blurted out.
“…Rosette Cernia, Your Highness.”
The Crown Prince must know the lineage of all the nobles, but I wondered if he would say anything about my family. Fortunately, Cedric smiled gracefully, showing no suspicion.
“Hmm. I see. I hope we meet again next time.”
With those words, Cedric turned around without hesitation. I felt a sense of camaraderie with the ashen faces of his entourage.
‘Royalty is definitely different!’
As expected of royalty, their imposing aura was no joke. It was terrifying to even speak to them!
Still, thanks to Cedric, who had a slightly different vibe from Kiris, I felt more energized.
I finally let out the breath I had been holding.
As I took a deep breath, clutching my chest, Kiris took my hand.
“Let’s go, Mistress.”
“W-Wait a minute!”
And then, he immediately used teleport.
* * *
I felt a brief sensation of floating, and when I opened my eyes, I was back in my house. Kiris gently let go of me, and I stumbled slightly.
“No, why did you suddenly use magic!”
I wasn’t dizzy, but I was more flustered.
As he openly used magic in the flower garden, I wondered what others would think. He didn’t even wear a robe! Even without that, the attention was on us because of Cedric. I hoped no one recognized me, though.
“But I gained something after seeing His Highness Prince Cedric….”
“Mistress.”
Kiris, who had a stiff expression, slowly opened his lips.
“Does Mistress prefer blondes?”
