Chapter 1

“UM, Miss Rosette. Did you hear a knock just now?”
Mary’s eyes widened in fear as her trembling fingertips fidgeted with her apron. The reason she was so frightened was simple. There was rarely any visitors here since my house was located on the outskirts of the city. Of course, Mary’s timid personality played a part as well.
“A visitor?”
I was equally surprised. However, I couldn’t show a startled expression to her. I set down the fabric I was mending and turned my gaze toward the door.
Did we mishear?
As I apprehensively stared at the door, I caught a glimpse of a moving shadow. There was definitely someone there.
“Who on earth…”
Just as I was about to get up from the sofa…
Creak.
“Huh?”
The door opened without any warning. It should’ve been properly locked though…
However, seeing the man who entered through the door, I could only freeze in place.
“Am I late, mistress?”
Removing his robe, the man approached me with a mischievous smile.
“…? Mistress doesn’t seem very pleased.”
His glistening silver hair caught my attention first, and as my gaze lowered, I was met with crimson eyes that focused solely on me.
“…S-Sion? How did you…?”
I could immediately tell who the man was. I treated him two years ago when he lost his memory and gave him the name Sion myself. However, he disappeared one day, and I hadn’t seen him for a long time since. Naturally, I thought Sion had regained his memories. It wasn’t like we could continue living together, either.
And yet, there he was, coming to find me after a year.
Suddenly, Sion knelt down, gently taking hold of my hand.
“Mistress.”
His deep voice reverberated in my ears. It was an unfamiliar form of address, leaving me speechless. At that moment, his pale, slender fingers traced the back of my hand. I was taken aback and tried to pull my hand away, but he clasped it more quickly. Slowly, Sion pressed his lips against the back of my hand.
“…I’m disappointed. You didn’t come to find me all this time?”
His warm lips pressing against my hand felt unfamiliar, and the sensation of his lips tickled me. I stared blankly at Sion’s face.
Shadows were cast over his half-lowered eyelids, creating a decadent atmosphere.
I couldn’t regain my composure.
Why was he acting like this?
I couldn’t think rationally for a moment. The Sion I knew wasn’t like this.
Could it be…?
Gradually, Sion lifted his head, revealing a sly smile. He was beautiful and dangerous, like a rose with thorns. Despite his beauty, there was a dangerous aura emanating from him.
“Hmm? Answer me.”
As his demanding gaze met mine, I quickly averted my eyes. It was an instinctive reaction.
“Well, um… I… I thought you had gone and…”
Glancing around subtly, I couldn’t finish my sentence. His red eyes were too intense. It’s dangerous!
As if my breath had been taken away, my body unconsciously quivered as I took a step back. It was an instinctive struggle for survival.
Mary! Mary!
I silently called out, hoping my desperate plea would reach her, but Mary had already disappeared.
Staring helplessly at the empty space where she had been, I forced a smile and distanced myself.
However, in an instant, a hand wrapped around my waist, making it impossible for me to move.
“Where are you going, mistress?”
His gaze seemed as if he wanted to devour me. At the same time, Sion pulled me closer, narrowing the distance between us. In an instant, our faces were so close that our breaths mingled.
My face turned red, and I weakly tapped his firm forearm.
My heart pounded as if it was about to burst.
“U-Um, let go of me for now…”
The soft murmur dissipated into the air as Sion used his finger to gently brush my lips.
“Mistress, I’ve regained my memories.”
“…Huh?”
“Should I tell you an interesting fact?”
I gulped nervously. I knew it was something I shouldn’t listen to.
And please, back off a little before you speak!
Who can regain their composure when he pushes that deceitful face of his so close?
However, it seemed like my piercing gaze had no effect. Sion slowly caressed my cheek and whispered, “Mistress raised a good Sion…”
With Sion’s words, I could feel a chill run down my spine.
“Kiris.”
“…?”
Kiris? If Kiris was his name…then he was the final villain in the novel I transmigrated into, right?
The youngest Tower Lord with immense power, the antagonist who made a contract with a demon to bring about the destruction of the world.
Why…why did that name come out of his mouth?
I could only stare blankly as I watched the movement of his red lips.
“…That’s my name.”
The moment I heard those words, a whirlwind of emotions swept through my mind. Why didn’t I realize it?
That surreal appearance, his way of speaking… everything indicated that he wasn’t an ordinary person.
…I’m screwed.
