Helios stroked the heads of the two siblings clinging to his legs.
“Good morning… or rather, good afternoon.”
With a smile as gentle as spring, he turned to look for Sera.
Getting up from her seat a beat later, Sera smiled as she rose… but inadvertently let out a groan.
A sudden sharp pain visited her lower back.
She wanted to act as if nothing had happened, but her hands naturally went to her waist.
Embarrassed, Sera bowed her head.
But everyone in the room had already heard her voice.
“Oppa, Sera seems to be in pain. She’s been red-faced for a while, maybe she has a fever.”
“Could it be a cold, Hyung?”
Rosé and Ferre seemed genuinely concerned that Sera might be unwell.
Helios approached Sera, momentarily detaching the children.
“How are you feeling?”
Helios whispered in her ear in a soft voice.
Sera gently looked up at him. Her gaze slid from his eyes, nose, to his straight lips.
Last night, how sweetly his voice had tickled her ears between those lips.
She remembered the endless declarations of love and the heat of their kisses under the stars.
“I’m alright.”
“If you’re even slightly uncomfortable, I can use my divine power…”
“It’s really not that serious.”
Sera, a bit embarrassed, declined Helios’s offer with a sheepish smile.
However, Helios’s gaze did not easily leave her. He also noticed something odd about the dress Sera was wearing today.
“Isn’t it hot? Were you cold yesterday?”
Helios asked, puzzled.
Sera hesitated a bit, then softly whispered in his ear.
“On my neck…”
Helios’s face gradually turned red as he maintained his composure.
Eventually, Helios murmured a guilt-ridden apology so quietly that only she could hear.
“I’m sorry…”
Helios chuckled awkwardly, and Sera’s ears turned red.
This seemed quite strange to the twins.
The two whispering secretly, Sera seemingly in pain yet not, Helios suddenly blushing.
Rosé and Ferre squeezed between Sera and Helios.
“Something’s fishy.”
“What’s Sera and Hyung talking about?”
The twins pouted their lips and rolled their eyes as if annoyed that the two were having a private conversation.
“Yesterday too, it was just Oppa and Sera playing together.”
“They said we couldn’t sleep together!”
“They even came to catch us!”
Their expressions clearly showed their dissatisfaction with the previous day’s events.
Helios and Sera wanted to make excuses but couldn’t find the right words.
“Hyung.”
Ferre tugged insistently at Helios’s sleeve.
“Can we sleep together tonight?”
“We’ll come find you.”
“We wanna sleep together!”
Rosé and Ferre looked at Sera and Helios alternately with hopeful eyes.
However, Helios wanted Sera all to himself a bit longer, so after some thought, he bent down to make eye contact with Rosé and Ferre.
“Rosé, Ferre, come here, can I have your ears?”
Rosé and Ferre quickly leaned in to listen to him.
Helios’s whisper was so soft that Sera couldn’t hear it, but she clearly saw their expressions change. The twins initially looked displeased, but they soon began nodding seriously.
“Oh!”
“I see!”
“Okay!”
They even added occasional affirmations.
After finishing the conversation, Helios smiled broadly and gave the twins a quick kiss on their foreheads.
Rosé and Ferre nodded at Helios and then said to Sera,
“If that’s the case, it can’t be helped.”
“We’ll give in, me and Rosé.”
“We won’t bother you for a while.”
Rosé and Ferre kept giggling, clearly pleased about something.
Curious about why the children had suddenly changed their minds, Sera poked Helios’s shoulder.
“What did you tell them?”
“Ahem, that they might need our help if they want to see their future nephew or niece?”
“Heli!”
Sera was startled and playfully slapped his arm, but Helios looked smug, having achieved his goal.
Rosé and Ferre clung to Sera’s dress.
“Sera, Sera. Oppa says he’ll make us a nephew or niece, how many do you like?”
“I’d love to have a lot of nieces and nephews!”
“Me too! I agree with Ferre on that!”
As Rosé and Ferre shared their dreams, Sera glared at Helios.
Helios wrapped his arm around Sera’s waist and whispered softly,
“So let’s work hard, Sera.”
It seemed Sera was thinking that sleep was unlikely for her tonight as well.
