As her vision blurred, she saw Helios smiling broadly. She could even feel him sigh in admiration.
He took the ring from the case and carefully placed it on Sera’s left ring finger.
The heavy ring, still too large, spun around as soon as it was slipped on her finger.
Both laughed lightly when the glittering diamond ended up facing downwards.
“We’ll get the size adjusted first thing tomorrow.”
Helios stood up and gently cradled Sera’s cheeks with both hands.
His tender voice wiped the tears streaming down her fingers.
“I love you, Sera.”
“I love you too, Heli.”
Helios looked at Sera with loving eyes, whether he was smiling or crying.
Tilting his head, he slowly pressed his lips to hers.
That day’s kiss tasted slightly of tears and was warmer than usual.
The next day, Rosé and Ferre were just as interested in the swollen eyes of Sera as they were in the ring on her hand.

In the early summer when the foliage thickened lushly, the weather was incredibly sunny.
In the meantime, Sera had been busy with her education as the future empress and her duties as the headmaster of the academy, but this had helped the awaited day arrive quickly.
Finally, today was the day of the wedding.
“Everything is ready.”
With the veil placed over her tiara, Sera slowly got up from her seat.
The white, sparkling lace rustled with every movement.
Peeking through the door, Rosé and Ferre saw Sera’s radiant appearance and exclaimed in awe.
“Sera! You look so beautiful!”
“Sera! You really look like an Empress today!”
“Silly. Sera is truly Her Majesty the Empress now.”
“I know that.”
“But Ferre, you mean Sera looks pretty. She’s always been pretty, but today she’s even prettier.”
Dressed in their formal attire, Rosé and Ferre bickered as usual.
Sera, holding the skirt of her voluminous dress gracefully, approached the children and squinted slightly, causing Rosé and Ferre to instantly quiet down.
“Sorry, Sera. I’ll stop teasing Ferre.”
“I won’t fight either.”
“That’s good.”
Behind the veil, Sera smiled brightly and carefully stroked the children’s heads.
Every time she moved her hand, the ring on her fourth finger sparkled brilliantly.
“Do you two need to go now?”
“Yeah! Me and Ferre came to check on you first before we go there.”
“Sera, me and Rosé will make a flower path for you to walk on!”
Rosé and Ferre answered with solemn faces, determined to perform their roles as flower children at the wedding perfectly.
Though they seemed to want to stay longer, they soon left as Raphael and Jean came to fetch them since the ceremony preparations had started.
After the children left, Sera’s grip on the bouquet tightened due to the overwhelming excitement and nerves.
She couldn’t believe she was becoming Helios’s wife today.
When Helios first came to her to ask if she would become Rosé and Ferre’s tutor, she couldn’t have imagined this outcome.
The events of not quite a year and a half had transformed her life.
Falling in love with Helios, unexpectedly sealing a demon, receiving the title of a count, then becoming a saintess.
Sometimes Sera felt her current happiness was so surreal, like a dream.
But it wasn’t a dream. It was happiness she had forged herself.
“You need to go now.”
Prompted by the handmaid, Sera nodded.
She adjusted her veil and dress one more time, then followed the people guiding her to the grand cathedral where the wedding ceremony was to take place.
As her heartbeat quickened, she soon found herself facing the doors of the grand chapel.
The handmaid firmly reminded her, “You must take His Majesty’s arm and walk slowly. Take your time.”
“Yes.”
Sera took a deep breath and signaled that she was ready.
At that moment, the large doors decorated with flowers opened, and bright white light poured in, accompanied by gasps of admiration from all around.
“Sera.”
Amid the heartfelt cheers, she followed the tender voice calling her name and slowly opened her eyes.
As she lifted her head, the more beautiful than ever Helios was smiling beside her.
“My Empress is dazzling today as well.”
“And so are you, Heli.”
Their soft laughter was exchanged quietly, unheard by others.
Looking at him with warm eyes, Helios gently pulled her hand through his arm.
Together, Sera and Helios slowly stepped onto the white carpet. It was a breathtakingly beautiful start to their blessed union.
