Chapter 293

“No… No! It’s not true! Really, it’s not!”
Sera frantically waved her hands.
“Ro… Rosé. Ferre…”
Helios, equally flustered, his voice trembling uncontrollably.
Sera and Helios knew they had to explain quickly to Rosé and Ferre.
The children, unpredictable in their misunderstandings, might start spreading rumors.
But they were at a loss for words on how to even begin.
As the two continued to appear rattled, the twins, not dropping their suspicions, widened their eyes even more.
They examined Helios and Sera closely, especially Sera’s belly.
“Hmm? Seeing Sera and Oppa panicking is weird?”
“So weird!”
“Sera, you look shocked.”
“No!”
“Nuh-uh. It’s clear Oppa is shocked too!”
At Rosé’s words, Ferre nodded vigorously in agreement.
Sera, feeling increasingly ensnared by Rosé and Ferre’s probing, put her hands on her hips and sighed briefly.
Fortunately, before she could give a bizarre explanation, Helios broke the ice with an awkward smile.
“Roseline. Ferreritan.”
Rosé and Ferre stared intently at Helios, their faces full of curiosity.
“A baby… you have to be married to have one…”
“Married?”
“You gotta be married first?”
Rosé and Ferre tilted their heads to one side, as if they had never heard such a thing before.
“So there’s no baby yet?”
“Not yet?”
Sera and Helios nodded silently, their faces awkward.
This time, the twins didn’t think they were lying and let out a disappointed sigh.
“Ah. Rosé and I thought holding hands and kissing would make it happen.”
“So you have to be married, too. We didn’t know.”
“It’s more complicated than we thought.”
“That’s disappointing.”
Rosé and Ferre, quickly losing interest, turned away from Sera and Helios.
They murmured as they seemed to head straight for the ceremony venue, leaving the room, allowing Sera and Helios to finally breathe a sigh of relief.
“Haah.”
“Aah.”
As they both let out a simultaneous sigh, Sera looked at Helios.
With a chuckle and eyes meeting, both burst into laughter.
“A baby, really. What a shock.”
“Indeed. Where did they hear such a thing?”
“Thinking babies come from just holding hands and kissing. Too cute and innocent…”
“Ke-hum.”
Helios suddenly cleared his throat as if he had swallowed wrong.
Caught off guard by his abrupt action and impeccable timing, Sera’s eyes widened.
Initially, Helios did not understand Sera’s reaction.
But soon, recalling the conversation he had just interrupted, he became even more flustered than Sera.
“Sera, I swear I wasn’t thinking that… just a sudden cough…”
Of course. Sera nodded, understanding, but the atmosphere had already turned awkward.
Thoughts of what could have been passed similarly through their minds, creating a tense silence.
“We should go quickly, Sera.”
Helios cleared his throat first and took Sera’s hand.
Both of them blushed so deeply just before entering the grand hall where the ceremony was to take place that they could hardly look at each other.

The title conferment ceremony was just as Rosé and Ferre had said: very long and calm.
As it was rather tedious for the children, Sera watched Rosé and Ferre yawn several times during the solemn ceremonies and rites.
However, when Helios bestowed the title upon her, both children’s eyes sparkled wide, and they joined the nobles filling the hall in giving vigorous applause.
After the ceremony, Sera was at the center of the following reception.
Unlike the formal ceremony, the reception buzzed with a festive atmosphere, and she was the star of the show.
“Saintess, or would you prefer to be called Count Popo? I’m Jennifer.”
“My name is John Robert. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Saintess.”
“I am Count Davis.”
The people gathered around were busy introducing themselves.
Although she had experienced a similar scene at a previous ball, this time was different as everyone, regardless of age or gender, was trying to make a good impression on her.
“Yes, nice to meet you.”
Sera responded with a customary greeting and a kind smile.
All the while, she craned her neck this way and that, searching for Rosé, Ferre, and Helios among the bustling crowd.
At some point, they had disappeared from sight.
“Oh my. Isn’t that the Saintess? You really haven’t lost your popularity!”
The voice that offered Sera a reprieve amid the throng was a familiar one.
It was the Marchioness Leticia Bennett.
“It’s been a while, Marchioness.”
Sera greeted a face she hadn’t seen in a long time with pleasure.
Smiling broadly and dragging her voluminous dress, the Marchioness greeted Sera and then scanned the surroundings.
“I have something important to tell Her Eminence, could everyone please give us some space?”
