I Became the Tutor of the Royal Twins - Chapter 219
Chapter 219

The opera was now in the middle of its first act’s climax.
While dressed in splendid costumes beneath the spotlight, the two actors on stage sang of love with mournful voices.
The beautiful song and acting harmonized perfectly with the desperate scene.
Getting tickets to this show was like plucking a star out of the sky, and so Sera wanted to see it at least once. It was as flawless as its reputation.
Despite this, however, she couldn’t concentrate on the opera at all. It was all because she heard that Helios was also here.
As the lead actress cried forlornly ahead of the inevitable farewell with her beloved, the lead actor held her with a pain-stricken expression.
Considering Sera’s present circumstances, it’s impossible for her not to be moved.
‘But I’m more curious about His Majesty and Their Highnesses than the opera…’
How fickle her mind was when it came to the question, ‘Do I want to see him, do I not want to see him.’
Since she was wearing opera glasses, perhaps she wouldn’t be caught no matter where she’d look. In actuality, her gaze was set upon the other side of the theater.
It was not a difficult task to find Rosé, Ferre and Helios.
Even from far away, they invariably stood out.
And aside from that, the opera glasses that Richard gave her were of good quality.
Just as the faces of the actors on the stage below were clearly visible, so too were the faces of the people sitting at the other side of the room.
‘Their Highnesses Rosé and Ferre haven’t changed. I guess they’re doing as well as they said they were in the letter they sent. But they must be a little scared now—look at them hugging each other tightly. After all, it’s their first time in a theater.’
Seeing the twins, with their cheeks as rosy and as chubby and as cute as always, Sera smiled lightly.
Was it because of the performance’s magnificent stage effects and loud noises?
Just how surprised were they? The scary scenes were already long past, but the twins were still stuck together as though they had one body.
As if it wasn’t enough to hug his twin sister, Ferre was also hugging one of Helios’s arms.
Feeling a bit worried, Sera inadvertently raised her gaze up Helios’s hand, arm and shoulder, then…
As his face was captured in the opera glasses, zoomed in no less, at that moment—
‘!’
Sera quickly removed the opera glasses from her eyes, holding back the yelp she nearly let out.
Urgently, she brought her gaze back down to the stage, just like Richard, who was fully engrossed in the performance.
Her heart started pounding heavily as though she’d been caught stealing.
Skipping a beat, her heartbeat could be felt throughout her entire body, and for no reason, it felt like there was a lump stuck in her throat.
‘His Majesty was definitely looking this way. Our eyes met…’
She considered herself lucky that Helios didn’t have his own pair of opera glasses.
Sera rubbed her clammy hands on the hem of her dress, nervous about almost getting into trouble.
As she was trying to calm down her rampant heart, the opera performers’ passionate singing ended.
People got up from their seats and gave the performers a standing ovation, pouring out an enthusiastic round of applause.
Like Richard, Sera also rose to her feet.
She clapped her hands together and joined in on the standing ovation, but somehow, her face felt like it was stinging.
As if Helios’s eyes were still on her.
* * *
After the round of applause, Helios leaned back into his spacious seat.
For a moment, it’s as if Sera’s eyes were on him. However, it must only have been his imagination. Sera never looked at him a second time.
“Mmh…”
Helios rubbed his forehead, disapproving his own behavior.
It was the first time that he felt so uncomfortable watching an opera.
No, he couldn’t even say that he watched the opera.
He was well aware of the fact that all his focus was on Sera rather than the performance itself.
“Ferre. Should. we. go. to. the. comfort. room. now?”
“What. did. you. say. Rosé? Comfort. room? Me. too. I. wanna. go. Should. we. go. real. quick?”
Standing up, Rosé pulled Ferre’s arm.
Helios glanced at his younger siblings, who were trying their best to give him a natural smile.
Through their pink little lips, their cute teeth could be seen slightly as they smiled.
‘I think they said something earlier about going to see Miss Popo…’
His younger siblings were ‘sneakily’ trying to visit Sera under the guise of going to the comfort room, but it was a lie that would inevitably be caught sooner or later.
The first indication was how stiffly they were acting now. They could lie better than this, truthfully.
If he were to call them out on it now, they might just give the excuse of, ‘It’s because a magical frog told us to do it!’ They’re still in the process of thinking up a storm for a good lie.
“Then, Oppa, we’ll just go to the comfort room and come back right away.”
“Hyung, we’ll be right back before the second act starts, okay?”
Firmly holding hands, the twins made their valiant attempt to run away with a smile.
However, pulling aside the red curtain, Jean appeared and was about to stop Rosé and Ferre. However…
“Jean, wait a minute.”
“Hm? What’s wrong?”
“Ah…”
Unable to come up with an answer, Helios shrugged as though he didn’t know what his younger siblings were up to.
“It looks like Their Highnesses are going to Miss Sera. Shouldn’t we bring them back? I heard them talk about it a while ago.”
Right. Of course he heard it clearly and already knew about it.
“If they go there now, they’ll be interrupting Miss Sera’s date… Didn’t they say they’re going to watch the second act next to Miss Sera? Yeah, I should take them back. I’ll be back with them soon.”
Interrupt.
Yes, the twins would come in between Sera and Richard, Helios already knew that. They would most likely sit on both sides of her.
However, if Helios had any intention of stopping the twins in the first place, he would have quietly advised them against it from the start. He was sitting next to them while they were hatching up their plan—it’s only natural that he heard them.
However, he had no such plans.
Truthfully, he agreed with the twins and even thought that their little scheme was a good idea.
It would also be an adequate excuse to ‘catch’ his younger siblings who ran away earlier. It was reasonable enough to say that to Count Peters later.
“Haa…”
Groaning briefly, Helios inwardly laughed at himself.
“What is it, Heli? Do you feel ill?”
Jean asked worriedly as the grimacing Helios cradled his head in one hand.
“No, it’s not like that.”
As he answered Jean’s question, Helios looked over to where Sera was sitting at the other side.
Perhaps it’s because they ran there, but Rosé and Ferre were already by her side right now.
“I’ll go.”
“Huh? You?”
“Yes. Me.”
“Won’t it cause an uproar if you go there though? There’s a lot of people in attendance, and there’s most likely a lot of people who’d like to greet you. Won’t your presence kick up a commotion? And if you go to Miss Sera’s side—”
“I’m going. You, stay here.”
Drawing up his eyes into beautiful arcs, Helios cut Jean off mid-sentence.
Unlike the pleasant smile on his countenance, his voice carried the subtle hint of a threat.
Though Jean was puzzled, he couldn’t stop him. At the end of the day, Helios was the emperor.
Helios pulled back the curtain and stormed out of the balcony.
Scratching his head as he watched his childhood friend leave, Jean could not understand his behavior.
“Ah, there’s something wrong with Heli again. Raphael’s being weird sometimes, too. Is there something that only I don’t know?”
Well, it’s not his business anyway.
Jean sighed and directed his gaze at the other side of the theater.
