Chapter 213

“Lady Sera?”
Sera was pulled out of her reverie by a man’s voice, calling her name. At this, she carefully set down the cup of tea that she was nursing.
“Pardon me. Can you please repeat that?”
“I said that it’s an honor to meet you, Lady Sera. I painstakingly had to ask House Adriel the favor of introducing me to you.”
Richard Peters—blond hair, blue eyes. His eyes were curved as he smiled refreshingly.
The young man, being the owner of attractive looks, was the rumored count who had just recently inherited his title.
“I was also pleased to hear that you’re interested in my business, Count.”
Sera answered him with a smile.
It had already been a month since she finished her job as a tutor at the imperial palace.
And despite that, her daily life had become even more hectic than before.
After being done with the work of a tutor, she furtively let slip her plans of founding an educational institution. Rumors had already started spreading.
Thanks to this, a stream of various people began to contact her, with messages on the range of sponsorship offers and inquiries as to when the school would open.
“Truthfully, I thought that you’d turn down my offer. I’m already aware that there are many households besides mine that are offering to sponsor Your Ladyship after your popularity has soared. That’s why I couldn’t believe it when I got a reply from you that you’ve accepted to have this meeting.”
Richard spoke cheerfully with a light but serious look.
“When you sent the letter with the simple sentence, ‘I wish to support you,’ I immediately felt your sincerity, Count. And seeing as how you also talked about the three branches of education, I surmised that you were very interested in the field, so I accepted your offer.”
The letter had such an influence, of course. However, Sera did not bother to mention the other separate reason.
It was all because of Countess Adriel’s recommendation.
Sera had been refusing all sponsorship offers left and right because she had no problems with the funds, and she had no intention of getting help from anyone.
And yet, Countess Adriel had asked her very sincerely.
Sera couldn’t easily refuse the countess, especially since the older woman was saying that it wouldn’t hurt to meet Count Peters at least once.
“Miss Sera, you must meet Count Peters. He is young and competent, and he’s popular in high society as well.”
“Count Peters is quite interested in you, Miss Sera. Not only is he handsome and rich, but his rank is outstanding as well. Miss Sera, you must deeeeefinitely meet His Lordship.”
“Miss Sera, have you written back to the Count yet? I heard that he’s been waiting for your reply…”
With all the not-so-subtle nudging, Sera had been expecting that this was a thinly veiled blind date, and she couldn’t help but feel burdened.
However, Sera could admit that Count Richard Peters truly was a likable man, just as Countess Adriel had said.
And as it turned out, Count Peters was actually quite the looker.
But since the appearance of the man Sera regularly saw until a month ago was unrealistically out of this world… she was not very impressed.
‘Ah, I’m thinking about him again.’
Sera quickly picked up her cup of black tea to take a sip and erase the subtle frown on her lips.
“Lady Sera, have you any fondness for opera?”
“Opera? I do like it, but…”
Richard smiled as if her answer was enough. He then took out two tickets from his inner chest pocket and held them out to her.
“I asked because I would like to invite you to go see the opera together, Your Ladyship.”
Richard asked her out, visibly glowing with his good looks that would make any young lady swoon.
But Sera hesitated, not knowing what to answer. At this, Richard went on to express his affinity for Sera without restraint.
“We happened to cross paths at the imperial banquet two months ago, and to be honest, I could only think that it must be what falling in love at first sight feels like. Of course, Your Ladyship might feel uncomfortable due to my forwardness, but I do consider myself quite alright of a man. If you wouldn’t mind, may I ask that you give me a chance?”
Richard gazed into Sera’s eyes with such tenderness.
Sera grew worried. She knew what was being expected of her.
It was the first time that a man was being so forward with her, but once again, she soon felt bitter because she was reminded of a certain someone at this moment.
“Ah… Count Peters.”
Still grappling with her words, Sera hesitated.
“It’s an opera that you’ll like, Lady Sera. I’ve also reserved special seats, so these are tickets that would be hard to get even if someone would try to get them a year in advance. Would it be alright to think of it as going together as friends?”
Richard had a knack for persuading Sera.
He wasn’t pressuring her, and he was consistently being a gentleman.
As Sera contemplated, in the end, she closed her lips and nodded.
There’s a saying that love could be forgotten with another love.
This might be a good start to quickly forgetting her first love. Besides, she admitted that Count Richard seemed like a good man.
“Very well, Count. I’ll go with you.”
When Sera took one of the tickets, Richard smiled broadly and answered cheerfully.
“I’ll do my best to make it truly enjoyable for you on that day, Lady Sera.”
Perhaps determined to become the person she’d like, Richard’s eyes crinkled at the ends as he beamed.
And with how happy Richard reacted, Sera thought that it wasn’t bad. She replied sincerely this time.
“Yes, I think it’ll be fun. I’ll look forward to it.”

“What a relief that Rosé and Ferre are doing well. I was worried about how they’d adjust to classes with their new teachers, but it’s good that they’re fine.”
After hearing Raphael’s report on how Rosé and Ferre’s classes were going, Helios spoke with a faint smile.
However, as soon as he looked down at the documents in front of him and silently began to work again, his face was soon wiped clear of any expression.
Raphael thought to himself for a moment. Would it be better to stop the report here?
However, he opened his lips to speak again.
“The new teachers had been briefed well before they started, so they find it easier to teach Their Highnesses. Of course, it was before Miss Sera left and…”
Flinch.
The very moment Helios heard Sera’s name, the pen in his hand stopped abruptly.
Still, his hand started moving again as if nothing had happened, but it was impossible for Raphael to have missed it.
“Everyone… is praising Miss Sera for organizing everything so well before she left. They also wish to know how she managed to make the naughty Twin Highnesses turn a new leaf.”
As he finished speaking cautiously, Raphael waited for Helios to answer.
