Confined Together with the Horror Game’s Male Lead - Chapter 26
It was fascinating to think that even the status of the first floor’s boss was being reported to me while I was being clouded by pain.
[ The excited Administrator is preparing the next game. ]
[ Time remaining until the next game: 11:59:59 ]
In twelve hours, this mansion would change. Until now, Dietrich had been searching the rooms to obtain crushed shards, but things would change now that the First Floor Administrator had woken up.
But when was Dietrich coming…?
“I brought back a potion.”
I was taken aback.
I turned around in surprise at the sudden voice whispering in my ear.
Where on earth did he get that from?
Dietrich kneeled down and started applying the cold potion to my back.
“Ah— It hurts!”
“…Just endure a bit. You’ll get better.”
As I winced at the cold sensation, Dietrich’s hand paused momentarily.
But he continued to apply the potion to my back.
Before long, the pain began to ease.
I had never used a healing item before…
But I didn’t feel any pain.
Perhaps it was due to the penalty—it seemed to have restored me to my normal state.
“But Dietrich, where did you get the potion?”
Why does he have one in the first place?
“I collected them while searching the rooms.”
And he used what he had collected on me?
Dietrich seemed to feel a slight sense of guilt since I got hurt instead of him, but I felt even more sorry about it.
‘Should I find a few more of these later?’
It seemed like I would have to gather some more for him.
“Please don’t do such reckless things from now on.”
“Why on earth did you jump in like that? Even if you had died, what would be the point of such a reckless act?”
I didn’t know I would get a penalty for it, but I definitely wouldn’t have died.
I was trapped in this mansion, after all. It’s impossible for me to die while I’m stuck here.
Still, I don’t think I’ll ever dare to try that again.
That really hurt.
I was convinced that this mansion wouldn’t let me go so easily.
At that moment, Furball returned a bit late, carrying something in its mouth again. Could it be another potion?
Where did it keep getting these things from though?
Furball glanced at my healed back with a puzzled expression, its little head tilting to the side.
So adorable. But… was this the same Furball I knew?
In the game, it was nothing more or less than a healing pet, but now it seemed strangely intelligent.
It wasn’t known for being this clever…
But there was no point in asking the furball who couldn’t even speak.
It simply sulked, lowered its tail, and turned away. Was it going back?
“Where are you looking? Focus on me. I haven’t heard your answer yet.”
Dietrich stubbornly stared at me as if he had no interest in Furball.
“Huh? What answer… I’m sorry, but what were we talking about just now?”
I had completely forgotten what we were discussing, thanks to my focus on Furball.
Dietrich raised an eyebrow in disbelief.
“I told you not to do such reckless things again. Do you understand?”
The firm grip on my arm indicated that he wouldn’t let me go until he heard my answer.
Dietrich seemed satisfied only after hearing my response and finally let go of my arm.
Actually, I had decided to help Dietrich, but I didn’t plan to be this proactive about it.
Just that much.
That was the initial plan. But ever since I had made that decision, I had been crossing the line bit by bit.
Of course, these actions were taken without knowing whether penalties would be applied.
“And there’s something I want to ask you.”
“To me? What is it?”
“Your eyes… Right now, they’re blue, but sometimes they suddenly change to red.”
Red? What was he talking about?
The change in attitude, at least, was something I could understand. That’s how it was whenever the system would impose its will on me.
But it’s my first time hearing that my eye color was changing each time.
This was news to me.
I had always wondered about it, actually.
In the game, Charlotte had red eyes, so why did I have blue eyes?
“When I first entered the mansion, your eyes were red. But you suddenly became friendly, and your eyes turned blue.”
…Dietrich was surprisingly perceptive.
So, whenever the system was controlling me, I became the in-game Charlotte, and that’s why my eye color was changing?
“Could your actions be related to those eye color changes?”
