Confined Together with the Horror Game’s Male Lead - Chapter 23
Chapter 23

“Are you mocking me right now?”
The woman slowly tilted her head.
It’s not funny at all…
“It seems like you couldn’t distinguish between words of jest and sincerity to that extent.”
The woman, who had been silently gazing at him, lowered the hand that had been raised on his arm. Then, she turned and walked away soundlessly.
When Dietrich didn’t follow her, she glanced back.
Unintentionally, however, he found himself moving towards the woman, and she started walking away again.
“Where are you going right now?”
There was no response from the woman.
She silently went out into the corridor and opened the door to a new room.
[ Look for me!
Come to my room! ]
Suddenly, he remembered the card in his pocket. Could there be something inside this room?
…Or perhaps a trap.
Dietrich mentally prepared himself and raised his hand to the hilt of his sword.
However, he felt no signs of movement from within the room.
As Dietrich searched the room, he discovered something written on a chalkboard.
What’s this?
R: 6
Y: 12

He tried to make sense of the text on the chalkboard, but it remained utterly incomprehensible.
Dietrich’s gaze, having given up on deciphering it, slowly swept through the room.
This room…
Just like the previous one, it was a pastel-toned room, but once again, it was filled with teddy bears of all colors.
It was clear that this room would be loved by children.
…As long as the teddy bears wouldn’t come to life.
Now that he thought about it, there was a sign in front of the door that he hadn’t noticed while exploring other rooms. It read, [ Room ].
After roughly inspecting the room and returning to the chalkboard, he noticed an hourglass underneath.
Yellow sand was slowly flowing downwards.
By this point, it was impossible not to know. Could it be…
Dietrich hastily turned around.
The woman standing behind him had a crimson glow in her eyes.
“I’m curious.”
“……”
“Whether you can survive in this place as well.”
Fwick!
Even though there was no opening, a strong wind blew.
The woman’s platinum hair fluttered like flames.
The red glow in her supposedly blue eyes gradually deepened, finally becoming a vivid red.
Whoosh!
A fierce fire engulfed the room.
“This room will be different from the ones you’ve passed through so far.”
“……”
“It’s been quite easy up until now, hasn’t it?”
A translucent curtain fluttered, concealing the woman’s figure.
As the curtain descended, the woman’s smile became more pronounced.
“This place is different.”
“……”
“If you can’t solve the problem, you will die.”
Dietrich quickly turned his body towards the chalkboard with incomprehensible words written on it.

“Solve the problem or die right here and now.”
* * *
After delivering lines that progressed the story, I felt the power that had been controlling his body release.
I recalled scenes with Charlotte from the game, often appearing after Dietrich had entered the mansion—whenever he entered a new type of room, or whenever he found special items.
Perhaps they were introduced to explain the situation to players, but now it felt like a means of coercion.
“You said you’d help, but now you’re threatening me.”
“……”
“No. The way you’re telling me to struggle and survive. Are you mocking me?”
As an experiment, I moved my hand, and Dietrich’s eyes shone like violet flames.
“No, I just spoke the truth.”
“Truth? That if I can’t solve the problem, I’ll die?”
“Yes.”
“That sounds like mockery.”
It really isn’t.
I’ve played this game countless times.
Even though I gave up on the third floor, I’m well versed in the answers of the first floor.
“I genuinely want to help you, Dietrich.”
Despite my sincerity, however, Dietrich didn’t drop the suspicion from his gaze.
“So, this room…”
I hesitated as I was about to speak.
Come to think of it, before…
[ ※ Warning ※ ]
[ Disclosure of mission and game-related information is prohibited.
Violators will be penalized. ]
I had seen warning messages like this before.
If I explained the current situation to him, I would likely incur penalties.
I had to be careful…
“Did you feel anything strange when you entered?”
“……”
“Like some words or something else that wasn’t there before?”
“Are you referring to that sign?”
Dietrich pointed at the sign that read [Room].
However, I couldn’t confirm or deny his statement.
I didn’t want to risk disclosing any more information that might result in a punishment.
Before we knew it, the amount of sand in the hourglass on the floor increased, and the flames grew stronger.
‘Ten minutes.’
That’s all the time left for him to solve the puzzle.
