Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 316
Chapter 316
“As expected…It seems only Sister-in-law has the capacity to fully understand him.”
Vincent said with a laugh and a thumbs-up. It was clear he had no intention of trying to understand himself.
Aria sighed and replied.
“I’ll try to calm him down.”
“I trust only Sister-in-law. Please make a person out of him.”
It must be tough. He added, patting Aria’s shoulder.
Despite being burdened with all the work instead of Lloyd, Vincent seemed more sympathetic towards Aria. It seemed he would rather face a murderous workload than deal with Lloyd who had regained his past-life memories.
“But I think we might need to take Ella with us.”
“Why!”
Vincent immediately objected.
He had been hoping to monopolize Elaina while buried in work, secretly harboring ambitions to keep her all to himself.
“Think about it. Don’t you think Ella might be what he needed to temper his destructive tendencies from his past life?”
“….Damn, can’t argue with that.”
Even a tyrant who dreamed of immortality and slaughtered many would turn into soft pudding in Elaina’s arms.
“How long do you think it will take?”
“I don’t think it will be over in a year or two.”
Healing the young Lloyd who had not yet experienced any trauma had already taken considerable time.
“Ha…”
Vincent was in despair. But had no choice but to give up cleanly.
“There’s no helping it. Considering the future of the Valentines, restoring Brother is the priority.”
He couldn’t just watch the family crumble before Elaina even had a chance to inherit.
Vincent, whose love for his niece was so high it pierced the sky, was willing to sacrifice himself. He hoped that one day Elaina would appreciate his efforts.
“I was just listening to see how far it would go.”
At that time, Lloyd interjected, having silently listened to their conversation with his arms crossed.
“You talk too much.”
“Haha, you heard us?”
Spouses do become like each other. How did he hear that, anyway?
Vincent laughed again and quickly stepped back. He clearly did not want to get involved with the current Lloyd.
“Enjoy your vacation then!”
She hadn’t even packed yet.
Before Aria could object, the door slammed shut.
Aria listened briefly to the sound of Vincent’s hastening footsteps fading away, then turned to Lloyd.
“So, that’s what happened.”
“You want to cure my condition?”
Lloyd smirked, leaning back comfortably.
“Well, I’m no doctor.”
Aria replied, matching his smile as she approached him.
“We’ve been running non-stop, haven’t we?”
Aria knew Lloyd had been struggling to sleep recently. Often, he would wake up abruptly to look down at her face and silently stroke her cheek while she slept.
‘Is he having nightmares?’
Only after sitting on the desk to match his eye level did Aria reach out gently to touch the corners of his eyes.
“I hate to see Lloyd in pain, but I’m glad I still have the chance to comfort you. Is it selfish to say I’m happy about that?”
“…No.”
Lloyd answered without hesitation, tilting his head into her touch.
“How will you comfort me?”
“By doing everything you’ve wanted.”
Nicknames, hugs, kisses, confessions. She was ready to show him all the happiness he could handle.
“It might take a while to do it all.”
Aria whispered this as she slid off the desk and onto Lloyd’s lap.
Lloyd’s eyes widened in surprise for a moment before he buried his face in the nape of her neck. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. He caressed her shoulder with a contented smile.
“Looks like I’ll need you to comfort me for a lifetime.”
“Mama!”
Aria turned at Elaina’s call. With the help of a servant, she was dressed in a bright yellow outfit, ready for an outing.
“Where are you going, Ella?”
Aria asked, surprised.
Elaina ran up with her short legs and grabbed Aria’s hand. Instead of answering, she transferred her memories and feelings to her mother.
“Are you going out with your brother today?”
Aria’s voice softened as she thought of Luca’s smile and the child’s excitement.
“Baby, it’s great you can use your power, but can you tell Mom with words? Mom wants to hear your voice.”
“Ung.”
Ella nodded obediently.
“Luca.”
“Yes, Luca?”
“Luca play.”
“Where?”
“There… there place…”
“Ella?”
At that time, Luca appeared at the end of the hallway.
As usual, he maintained the appearance of a child the same age as Ella through transformation magic.
Today, he looked just like a five-year-old.
“Luca!”
Ella immediately sprinted towards him as she saw him.
“Haa.”
Aria sighed as she watched her daughter disappear.
Ella was mature for her age. She was sensitive and capable of understanding and empathizing with others. It wasn’t just a protective parent’s bias, she does have these traits.
Likely due to her ability to read and resonate with others’ emotions, her emotional development seemed advanced.
However, her speech was delayed compared to her peers. She had grown accustomed to using her powers instead of speaking. She probably found it frustrating to struggle with articulation when she had a quicker and easier way to express her thoughts.
‘How should I encourage her to speak more?’
Aria was worried and decided to speak to Luca as soon as he and Ella returned.
She called him aside.
“Luca, come here for a moment.”
She sat Luca down and explained the whole story. Saying she was worried about Ella’s delayed speech. However, the dragon seemed indifferent to her worries and only shrugged his shoulders.
