Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 292
Chapter 292
The already low body temperature plummeted rapidly, becoming as cold as a block of ice.
“Siren.”
He felt empty.
He thought there was nothing left to empty out.
Lloyd didn’t know how to deal with the emotions that seemed to leak out as if a hole had been punctured inside him.
“Shall I complete your revenge?”
I killed the Emperor.
And to kill Count Cortez, who made you sing.
And to kill Count Chateau, who sold you to the Emperor.
And to kill the citizens who executed you.
And to kill Saint Veronica, who incited you as a monster.
And to kill the pope of Garsia, who used you as a pretext for war…
Should I destroy the world that abandoned you?
“If that happens, even you, who were so kind, would fall into hell.”
Lloyd drew a satisfied smile like Hades offering pomegranates to Persephone.
He did not restrain his impulses.
Among the many humans who coveted the Siren, Lloyd was undoubtedly the most insane.
“You’ve won.”
“…”
“They say the Siren’s song stirs madness, but I didn’t know it to this extent.”
Lloyd firmly hugged Aria and stood up, leaning deeply into the blood-soaked throne.
Five years had passed.
After the Valentine incident, he continued to swallow the boredom for a meaningless long time, constantly searching for a reason.
A reason why the world should not end.
A reason why he should live in this world.
He found nothing.
This land, abandoned even by God, was already a sanctuary of corruption, rotting from the root, emitting a foul stench.
There were more than enough reasons for it to end.
And just now, one more reason was added.
“Grand Duke Valentine. So, you were alive.”
With a cold remark, a chilly blade hovered over Lloyd’s neck.
He lifted his head.
How long had he been like this?
The corpses strewn around were already decaying.
“The dens of heretics have been thoroughly cleansed, and as of today, Fineta is returned to God’s embrace.”
The Commander of the Paladin, Gabriel.
Lloyd looked at the man, whose golden eyes shone fiercely like a zealot, and lazily curled his lips.
“Did His Holiness command you to capture me alive?”
“…”
“Of course, he would. How could he lose the world he gained along with my life?”
“Dare not insult Him!”
Lloyd stood up emotionlessly. Still holding Aria in his arms.
The sight of him holding a corpse in one arm and a sword in the other was quite bizarre.
Gabriel clenched his teeth and charged at the devil Duke. The outcome was predictable.
The Commander of the Paladin, with his eyes closed as if asleep, seemed like a noble martyr willingly sacrificing his life for his faith.
“Blessed rest has come for you as well.”
Lloyd muttered dismissively, looking over the army wiped out in an instant.
That was the spark.
He kissed Aria’s already hardened forehead and leisurely walked on.
To bestow blessed rest upon this world.
Lloyd suddenly opened his eyes.
He kept hearing the jolting sound, finding himself inside a moving carriage.
“…..”
“Did I doze off?”
“Are you okay, Lloyd?”
Aria asked from the opposite seat.
Lloyd frowned slightly and after a moment of silence, he slowly moved his lips.
“Just a nightmare.”
“A premonition?”
“No.”
Lloyd firmly replied. Usually, dreams this vivid hint at future events.
But even if he assumes generously, it couldn’t possibly be a premonition.
Aria had escaped Cortez, the Valentine people were alive and well, the Emperor was dead, and Garcia was directly destroyed by them.
Above all, Lloyd hadn’t been contaminated by God’s malice, nor drowned in madness.
A future that will never happen.
That’s typically called a nightmare.
“Just a dream.”
“Hmm…”
Aria chuckled softly and tapped her knee.
“Come here.”
He had no intention of falling asleep again. Yet, Lloyd didn’t hesitate to rest his head on Aria’s lap.
“This again.”
Aria said, massaging his neck, feeling him trying not to put too much weight on her knee and straining his neck.
“Your head isn’t heavy.”
“You’re just pretending it’s not heavy.”
“What do you take a mother for? I can handle this much.”
Since Aria insisted on him relaxing, Lloyd had no choice but to let go of the tension in his neck.
They traveled like that for a while. In peaceful silence.
Warm noon sunlight streamed through the window.
Aria gently stroked Lloyd’s dark, soft hair with a lazy smile.
“It seems a good idea to come out.”
Vincent had pushed them to visit Aria’s parental family and to leave the child with him. By the way, Aria’s family was no longer the Angelo family.
It was the kingdom of Garcia.
Though it was clear Vincent’s scheme was to monopolize Ella, a trip just the two of them seemed not a bad idea, so she happily agreed.
“Now that my adoptive father has become king, does that make me a princess by status?”
“You were always a princess.”
Uh, uuhh? Aria’s cheeks turned red as Lloyd playfully responded.
Lloyd’s words were so unexpectedly cheesy that it gave Aria goosebumps all over. Yet surprisingly, she didn’t find them unpleasant to hear.
“What, what are you even saying?”
“You said you were a descendant of the royal family of Atlantis.”
“…”
Oh, in that sense.
Aria looked disappointed. Lloyd gently caressed her cheek with his fingers, as if to comfort her.
“If we’re talking about nicknames, I still like ‘rabbit’ the best. Should I call you princess?”
“No, thanks.”
“Come to think of it, why don’t I have a nickname?”
“You expect me to call you ‘prince’?”
“I don’t mind…”
Wouldn’t you be embarrassed to call me that? Lloyd didn’t add anything more, but his gaze seemed to ask just that.
