Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 255
Chapter 255
It was a heartfelt confession. Enough to make the listener’s face blush.
Sabina couldn’t help but doubt whether the words that came out of Tristan, which she thought she knew well, were true.
She trembled. Because it stirred a desire deep within her.
‘In truth, I wanted this to happen.’
What a hypocrite.
“Annoying.”
“What?”
Tristan seemed startled by the words that suddenly came out of her mouth.
“….Did I just say that out loud?”
SInce he had heard it, maybe that’s why he asked.
Sabina sighed deeply and swept back her disheveled hair. She felt embarrassed because Tristan’s proposal had appealed to her too much.
It was as if he had exposed the unknown inner desire she truly wanted, offering it for her to take at any time.
‘Have I taken in some bad influence? It’s as if I’m about to become the devil myself.’
Sabina thought, trying to control her emotions. Then she spoke firmly, letting go of the conflict.
“I should go now.”
If she didn’t leave the castle soon, she felt she might make an insane decision.
She was sure. That she would not succumb to the whispers of that snake-like man.
“I’ll leave tomorrow.”
“Isn’t that too soon?”
Tristan’s smooth forehead wrinkled in concern.
“I already found a place to stay, and my revenge is over.”
It had gone on long enough already.
Then Tristan suddenly stared at Sabina intently.
“Hmm…”
It was an intense and searching gaze, as if he were trying to find even the slightest doubt.
Sensing his intentions, Sabina instead made her expression colder and met his gaze with a sharp and determined look.
“I want to leave. Let me go.”
“….”
Her expressions and attitude alone might not be enough, Sabina decided to add some words.
‘I wonder if this will work.’
He was a man who may not be in touch with his own emotions, but was keen enough to perceive even the smallest traces of others’ feelings.
She naturally expected him to put on a wry smile. Then say ‘you don’t actually have feelings for me too, right?’
That was his personality, after all.
“…Right.”
However, all her expectations were completely off the mark.
Tristan, instead of putting on a knowing smile, answered with a more narrowed eyes. Making it seem as if he were on the verge of tears, though there was no moisture in his eyes. His eyes had reddish edges.
‘Why?’
Sabina’s eyes involuntarily wavered.
‘Could he really be that serious?’
That he can’t even read her true feelings? Sabina almost reached out to his long eyelashes but managed to restrain herself.
‘I’m really trapped by his beauty…..’
She was determined not to do that out of pride. But it was more unsettling because it was so subconscious.
‘I should have threatened him instead. Then I would have left without looking back.’
She could see why the phrase ‘great lethal beauty’ was coined.
‘Why did I…?’
She was really irritated.
“Well then, you understood.”
After firmly responding, Sabina clenched her fist and quickly descended the hill.
As if she were running away.
“Uh…?”
Sabina suddenly made a bewildered sound.
When she snapped back to reality, she realized she had finished her preparations and was sitting on the bed.
When did time pass like this?
‘It feels like Dana has come and gone.’
It felt like they had a conversation, but strangely, she couldn’t remember a thing. She hadn’t been able to concentrate at all.
‘I was quite agitated.’
It seems like she skipped through time all of a sudden.
Perhaps because tomorrow she would have to leave the Valentine Castle that she secretly liked.
‘Or maybe…’
Because of that cursed devil.
‘It’s obviously the latter.’
Once she made a choice, she wouldn’t regret it. She would only focus on moving forward.
That’s how it should be…..
Sabina found herself walking down a corridor without realizing it. She was headed towards Tristan’s bedroom.
‘What’s this, no guards even?’
Despite the long corridor and grand, ornate door, there wasn’t a single guard to be seen. She realized for the first time just how lax the security was. Because Sabina had never set foot near his bedroom.
There was probably no need for a guard since he had confidence in his own abilities.
“….Ha.”
Sabina let out a sigh.
Should she knock, or just turn around?
Ha–
It took about ten seconds for her to decide.
But before she could make a decision, the door slid open.
Revealing Tristan on the other side. He was wearing only a robe, his arms crossed, and his head tilted, as if he had noticed her coming before she even stood in front of the door.
“Aren’t your ears too good?”
“Your footsteps are unusual.”
She didn’t know her footsteps were unusual.
As Sabina was at a loss for words, she turned her head slightly.
“Why did you come to my room in the middle of the night….Should I judge it based on common sense?”
Tristan, as if lost in serious thought, brushed his lips with his thumb and asked. His slightly furrowed brow appeared quite troubled.
Sabina felt the same way.
“I just had some curiosity, that’s all.”
Because it’s the last time.
Tristan tilted his head slightly at Sabina’s added words, as if asking her to speak more.
“When we first met in the carriage, you said that I would be more comfortable if I obeyed and submitted to you.”
It looked like Tristan’s jaw tensed upon hearing those words. Did he regret what he had said?
Sabina couldn’t tell.
“That’s right.”
He had said,
“Give it up. Your dreams, your life, your future, your talents, your potential, everything.”
“…..”
“Because Valentine is such a place.”
Valentine is such a place.
“Was that actually just a story of experience?”
“Experience?”
“Was it about you?”
“…..”
“Was that just something that naturally came out because you thought I would embrace a luxurious, splendid, and peaceful death?”
He didn’t answer. His silence was an affirmative response.
