Chapter 40.1
“I’m Karin.”
Karin briefly introduced herself and glanced at Cassel.
“Is this Leilia’s husband?”
Leilia nodded.
“I’m Cassel Jen Roten.”
“You’re the war hero who caused a stir in the human world.”
Joel nodded and looked at Cassel carefully.
“For now, let’s move to another place.”
Leilia wanted to talk in a quiet place since Cassel had not yet announced to the outside world that he was a sword master.
“W-Wait a moment!”
At that moment, Calia interrupted.
“We also want to know why the dragon has come all the way here.”
“I came to give a sword to Cassel Jen Roten at the request of the leader of the Hyllan Merchant Association.”
Calia gasped at Karin’s words.
“A s-sword?”
“They said the existing sword was too weak.”
Karin explained evasively.
“Is it a better sword than the one made by the Rocheval craftsman?”
Calia’s eyes sparkled.
“It’s a sword made by a dwarf.”
A sword made by a dwarf… unbelievable.
They looked at Cassel with envious eyes.
“Is it really just a simple sponsorship?”
Zen muttered incredulously.
“A sword made by a dwarf!”
“That’s what I’m saying.”
Zen and Calia gave Cassel a look, urging him to reveal the leader’s identity. Leilia now had a small sense of what kind of looks Cassel received from his subordinates on the battlefield.
She could feel his brow furrow.
“They’re just a very generous person.”
He said this and simply stood next to her. Leilia pretended not to notice, but her ears turned red.
“Perhaps I shouldn’t have come so openly? I just wanted to deliver it as quickly as possible.”
Karin smiled at the two of them.
It was quite amusing to see Cassel’s subordinates urging him to reveal the leader’s identity.

Lucis, Cassel, and Leilia guided Joel and Karin to the inn where they were staying for the night. As soon as they entered the room where Cassel and Leilia would be staying, Lucis quietly spoke to Karin and Joel.
“What were you thinking, showing up there suddenly?”
“I didn’t expect an assassin to show up.”
“That’s not the issue!”
Lucis turned his gaze to Leilia.
“I told you it’s still a secret that she’s the leader of the merchant association.”
“Oh, right. But she didn’t get caught.”
“If it weren’t for His Highness Cassel, who knows what would have happened.”
As Joel interjected from the side, Karin glanced at him and then smiled at Raelia.
“I’m sorry, but we have a bit of an urgent situation on our side too.”
“What is it?”
Leilia asked curiously.
“The sword was completed, but it gained a will of its own. Joel and I rejected it because we didn’t like it.”
There was a saying that sometimes, when an exceptional sword was made, the sword would choose its own owner.
“I see. I thought the sword choosing its owner was something from legend, but it’s real.”
Cassel looked at her with interest.
“You’re Cassel, right? Leilia’s husband. It seems like you’ll have to wield the sword yourself.”
This was how it happened.
Leilia stared at him.
If he were to go to take the sword.
“I should probably go, too.”
“The dwarves will be reassured if the leader of the Hyllan association goes.”
In that case, the schedule has changed.
“It should take about two days.”
Upon hearing this, Lucis calculated for a moment and then nodded.
“That’s enough to keep us proceeding according to the planned schedule. Both of you, please take care.”
“Since we’re going to teleport, both of you, come here.”
Cassel and Leilia clasped hands after hearing Karin’s words. Joel also stood beside her. Karin gathered her magical power. Moving four people required a significant amount of magic, which she didn’t use often, but she had no choice but to shorten the time.
Soon, a massive light gathered around them.
Lucis closed his eyes against the intense light, then opened them a moment later. There was no trace of anyone ever having been there.
“Have a safe trip.”
He prayed for their safe returns.

Leilia opened her eyes and glanced around. It was a place where towering trees seemed to pierce the sky. It was their first time in such a place, so Cassel also looked around in wonder.
“It’s a dwarves’ forest.”
“Ah, here we are.”
Leilia realized this place was beyond the empire’s borders. Her mother had once mentioned areas where dwarves lived, untouched by humans, and this seemed to be one of them.
“This is Leilia’s first time here as well?”
“That’s right.”
She recalled the lists of trades she had made with the dwarves. They mostly imported foodstuffs that humans use. In return, they sold items they crafted themselves.
“You have to walk here.”
At Karin’s words, Leilia and Cassel walked in silence, but Joel approached Cassel.
