Chapter 31.1
“Are you asleep?”
Leilia opened her eyes at his question as she answered.
“I haven’t slept yet. We need to talk about the knights before going to bed.”
She got up and stared at him.
Looking at her face with no makeup, Cassel raised his hand and touched her cheek before he opened his mouth.
“That’s something we can talk about tomorrow.”
Leilia’s body trembled slightly at his low voice. At the same time, her cheeks flushed as she remembered the sensations he had given her.
“I’m glad that your subordinates think favorably of me.”
She wanted to make a good impression on his associates.
“Leilia is a good person, so they can’t help but have a good impression of you.”
As he applied pressure to her face with his hand, he traced his finger over her lips.
“It’s perhaps because Cassel speaks highly of me.”
Leilia smiled brightly.
His pupils wavered under her bright smile, and then he pulled her into his arms.
“Temptation should stay in the bedroom.”
‘I’ve never tempted him!’
Before she could say anything, he kissed her.
On the first day at the mansion, Cassel slept in her room.

Leshulean clenched his fists when he saw the newspaper that came out today.
He had been uneasy since the triumphal ceremony!
Meeting His Highness Cassel and hearing his honest story.
That was what the headline read.
In addition, there were stories that there was no mistress, and there would be severe consequences for spreading this as a rumor. This was a challenge sent by Cassel to himself. It was as if he was outright stating that he had decided that his wife would be Leilia.
“What is this?!”
Leshulean was furious.
Not even knowing who he was making such an effort for!
He gritted his teeth.
Leilia was absolutely not suitable for Cassel. Furthermore, if Cassel didn’t become Lisseltz’s close entourage, there was a possibility that his son would perceive him as an enemy. However, even though they might have guessed all of that, he chose Leilia as his wife.
It really gave him a headache.

Chelias sipped his tea at the mansion while reading the newspaper. The bold-printed newspaper was probably delivered to every corner of the capital.
“Remarkable.”
He had no intention of getting a divorce, and the fact about the mistress wasn’t truthful either. It seemed that Cassel had worked to dispel the rumors spread by the Emperor completely.
“His Majesty must have been angry.”
Cassel was clever. Rather than openly refusing orders from the Emperor, he used public opinion to handle matters. This way, even the imperial family couldn’t openly demand a divorce. With many supporters of his, it was difficult to ignore their gazes.
“I wonder how His Majesty will respond this time.”
Chelias stroked his chin, lost in thought.
“A promise is a promise.”
He had promised to help Leilia gain recognition in the imperial family as long as she didn’t commit adultery before the end of the war.
And Chelias hadn’t forgotten that promise.
“Your Majesty, I apologize.”
It seemed that he wouldn’t be able to side with the Emperor this time.
“It’ll be Your Majesty’s turn next time.”
Still, the Emperor wasn’t one to be taken advantage of like this, and he would definitely scheme something.
As Chelias expected, he received an invitation to the tea time held at the imperial palace shortly afterwards. Originally, imperial tea time was reserved only for members of the imperial family, without invitations being extended to outsiders. What could be the reason for him being invited?
Chelias smirked.
He would find out once he got there.

Leilia looked at the tea time invitation. It was addressed to both Cassel and herself. With the Emperor’s seal stamped on it, it seemed to be a tea time personally hosted by the Emperor himself. Normally, tea times were usually hosted by the emperor, empress, or sometimes the prince.
Her expression darkened as she remembered the tea time she had attended before.
“Is Cassel at the training grounds right now?”
“He’s training in swordsmanship with others.”
At Seychelle’s words, Leilia glanced at the invitation and sighed.
The tea time was tomorrow.
“I’m going to step out for a minute. Leave this in my husband’s study.”
Seychelle nodded at her words.
“Are you going to visit Lord Natale’s mansion?”
“I think so. I want to ask for help from the Head of the Hyllan association.”
Leilia got up and was about to go when Seychelle took her hand.
“Don’t go alone. Please go with His Highness Cassel.”
“But he’s in the training ground right now…”
“I think it would be better if you go together.”
It wasn’t familiar to discuss her problems with someone else since she had always carried them alone and solved them herself. Still, Leilia nodded at Seychelle’s words. There must be a reason for her to step forward like this.
Then, she went to the training ground to meet Cassel.
