After I Sent the Divorce Letter, My Husband Went Mad - Chapter 20
While others weren’t close enough to hurt her, Cassel was different. If he acted like that, Leilia would definitely be hurt. In addition, it was obvious that she wouldn’t be able to retaliate against him. Furthermore, Lucis was even more worried because he didn’t know what kind of young man Cassel was. He could’ve acted impudently, trusting his sponsor’s favor.
So, he intended to bring Leilia before she got drunk.
When he entered the bar, everyone seemed to be intoxicated and unable to control themselves. Since Leilia used the second floor, he quickly climbed the stairs, guessing that she would be there.
His steps quickened.
There was the most luxurious seat on the second floor, a partition, and it was the place most out of sight of others. No one cared what happened here.
His hasty steps paused.
In front of him, Leilia was leaning back in a chaise longue.
With her eyes closed, there was a coat placed on her body as Cassel was sitting in the seat opposite her. It seemed that when she fell asleep, Cassel was looking after her before silently taking off his coat to cover her while keeping his distance.
“Are you here?”
Cassel looked at Lucis and lowered his head.
“Ah, when did the Young Lady fall asleep?”
“She fell asleep a little while ago.”
“Oh my.”
Lucis clicked his tongue.
“She has a habit of falling asleep when she gets drunk. For now, let me take her.”
Having said that, he tried to carry Leilia on his back, but Cassel got up first.
“I’ll carry her on my back.”
He then moved first before Lucis could reach her.
“Hmm.”
Moving a sleeping person would be harder than he thought. Lucis thought of Cassel, who had been keeping a distance away from Leilia until now, and nodded his head. It was because, judging from his behavior, he seemed to be able to take care of her.
Lucis’s eyes soon caught the empty wine bottles on the table.
“…What’s this? Did something happen to the Young Lady?”
“She said she gets angry because she met a senior she doesn’t like.”
“She must’ve been stressed.”
It seemed that her habit had come out, seeing that she ordered expensive alcohol like this.
“When the Young Lady is under extreme stress, she likes to order expensive things.”
Cassel looked at the wine glass while listening to his words.
“Then, what about this?”
“…It’s probably the most luxurious drink in the store. The price is outrageous.”
Lucis spoke lightly and took care of Leilia. Cassel’s eyes fluttered for a moment, though he soon hid them and quickly carried her on his back.

Cassel and Lucis sat in the same seat while Leilia was lying on the opposite side across from them, sleeping soundly.
“What did you talk about?”
As Lucis asked curiously, Cassel read his wary eyes and opened his mouth quietly.
“She told me about her father.”
The story began with Cassel, who opened his mouth first.
〈 How is it with your father? You cried because of him when you were little. 〉
〈 You remembered… We’re still not on good terms. 〉
Saying that, she smiled resignedly.
〈 Still, I’m enduring it. Although I’m persevering alone to find my mother’s legacy. 〉
Afterwards, she just drank without saying a word.
〈 I’ve only talked about depressing stories. Let’s talk about something fun. 〉
And soon after, she mostly talked about the academy before Leilia fell asleep.
“Didn’t she receive her mother’s inheritance?”
Lucis nodded his head at Cassel’s question.
“He’s not giving it to her because he wouldn’t let her get married. It seems that he intends to use it as a dowry when marrying her younger sister, Lady Alesha, into the ducal family. Young Lady Leilia is targeting that time and preparing to secretly buy her legacy.”
Saying so, he clicked his tongue.
“Even though she could just hire a lawyer to take it away, it’s frustrating just thinking about them asking the Young Lady if she wants her young sister to get married into a good family while using that excuse.”
“With her younger sister…”
“They are on good terms.”
Then, Lucis laughed.
“Actually, Young Lady Leilia is very popular. Rumors of her marriage spread quite a bit before she even graduated from the academy with top honors. Graduating from the academy at the top of her class, daughter of a count, and had a legacy left by her mother… isn’t she a pretty attractive marriage partner?”
Cassel nodded his head at the question.
“It was Count Cowell Eloisa who rejected them all.”
Lucis gnashed his teeth. Meanwhile, Cassel’s expression as he looked at him like that gradually hardened.
