After I Died, He Died After Me Too - Chapter 5
Chapter 3.1
Mikhail’s entire body froze at the sound of his colleague, who belonged to the same unit as her, shouting. Never once did anyone call for Edith in such an urgent manner.
His stiffened instinctively.
The moment he turned around, she wasn’t there. The wavelength that connected them shook violently, and soon, light spread throughout her body.
“…Rampage? Edith?”
Rampage.
She had gone on a rampage for some reason.
“Stop her! We have to stop her! D*mn it! Guide!”
An urgent voice escaped his lips as Mikhail wore a dazed expression on his face.
‘It can’t be true… There’s no way she’s going on a rampage.’
He muttered to himself. The moment he saw Edith floating in the air, Mikhail ran straight towards her.
“No! Stop, Mikhail! You’ll die if you go now!”
Despite the fact that his way to her was blocked by the others, he desperately pushed them aside to reach Edith.
“Let go! Let go of me, you b*stards!”
However, there was no way he could overcome the power of Espers. Eventually, Edith’s rampaging power spread out in all directions.
“Edith! No!”
Tears welled up in Mikhail’s silver eyes. He reached out his hand but couldn’t reach her.
In the meanwhile, everyone scrambled to get away from the rampaging energy. This time, too, they didn’t care about Edith’s safety. Like insects fleeing for survival, Mikhail, who was watching them, shook off the hand of a colleague who tried to grab and drag him away.
“Are you crazy? Mikhail, you’ll die if you go there!”
“It doesn’t matter, so let go.”
The colleague who met his eyes let go of his hand as if he was overwhelmed by something. He cursed, saying he must be crazy and quickly evacuated.
Mikhail barely made it away from the crowd and caught his breath. His gaze fell to the ground. With each step toward the place surrounded by light, he could feel pain coursing through him, and yet he could feel everything about Edith.
Gasping for breath, he entered the vortex.
Eventually, he saw Edith in the center. He barely caught her fallen body that had fallen to the ground as if the rampage had stopped. His vacant eyes captured her pallid complexion.
Her brown, luscious hair and porcelain face.
Edith, with closed eyes, looked beautiful, and the crimson blood spreading around her resembled a lush rose garden in full bloom. He looked down at the woman who looked peaceful in his arms.
“…Edith.”
He called her name softly.
Mikhail stared motionlessly at Edith, who had died. Soon, a large shadow loomed over him. As he slowly lifted his head, he found himself face to face with a creature with a gaping maw.
“I’ll follow you too.”
He closed his eyes and embraced the end.

Fifty years passed since the creatures were outpouring, and Edith opened her eyes in someone’s body.
‘Did my power work?’
She was an Esper who possessed the ability to shield. The shield stepped to the forefront, blocking enemies and protecting allies on the front lines, and because of that, she stood at the forefront, facing the enemy.
Though in fact, she possessed another power that others didn’t know about.
It was the ability to manipulate time. In other words, it was time control. It only activated when her life was threatened to the point of imminent death. Perhaps the ability was triggered by her body’s instinct to survive before dying after the rampage… and as a result, she woke up as a woman named Bianca Astri.
She wanted to die, yet she came back to life. Although the end of a tiresome life seemed in sight, the day that began anew was hell at first.
Fortunately, she wasn’t given any powers. She was a little relieved that her life was different from before, where she had to live for others. The County of Astri family had never produced an Esper. Although they had produced Guides, they were of low rank and not highly favored. Moreover, Bianca was just an ordinary person with no abilities. Thanks to this, Edith, who became Bianca, lived much more peaceful days.
‘I guess this kind of life doesn’t seem so bad after all.’
What happened to others that day?
Bianca’s mind was a mess. Moreover, in the fading consciousness, she couldn’t forget the look in Mikhail’s eyes, staring at her through her fading consciousness.
‘I could hear Mikhail’s voice when I went on a rampage. Surely, he wouldn’t have jumped in to save me, wouldn’t he?’
