When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 150.1
“What do you mean by that?”
“I mean, let’s stop it.”
Kylian staggered as if he didn’t even know how to walk and moved toward her. Seeing his expression, Anais was taken aback.
“No, Wife.”
“Kylian?”
Kylian didn’t blink, and tears started to fall from his eyes.
“Please, tell me to die. I would rather die than be abandoned by you.”
“Kylian!”
“For me, there’s only you, Wife. If you’re not in my life, then it has no meaning anymore.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m serious. I can’t live without you. Please don’t abandon me.”
Kylian buried his head in her lap, sobbing miserably. Anais got clearly flustered and tried to soothe him, rubbing his head until he calmed down.
“Huh…”
But Kylian didn’t stop crying easily, and his tears soaked her negligee, dampening her thighs until they were soaked.
“Let’s stop sleeping in separate rooms.”
At that moment, his crying stopped.
“What?”
“I’ve remembered everything. Kylian didn’t recognize me, and we kept missing each other. Of course, it was very painful. But I still like you, Kylian…”
“Wife.”
“No, I don’t just like you… uhp…”
Even though she was recalling the painful past, Kylian was moved by Anais’s words and, without thinking, pressed his lips to hers.
Anais turned her head and pulled away from his kiss.
“Listen for a moment. We’re having a serious conversation.”
“Weren’t you trying to leave me?”
“What? How could I… I mean…”
Seeing her flushed face, Kylian couldn’t help but feel a rush of hope. He watched her closely as she hesitated with her lips moving.
“I love you, Anais.”
“Ah… well…”
“I love you. More than anything in this world. I love you more than anything.”
“I, I love you too.”
Anais spoke slowly, her words not coming as easily as before. Even after remembering everything, she still had feelings for Kylian.
But…
“Still, I think you’re cruel, Kylian.”
“Wife…”
“How could you not recognize me?”
Seeing the tears fall from Kylian’s eyes once again, Anais sighed and she gently wiped his cheek.
“I’ve already wronged you so much. That’s why. I thought if I made another mistake, I would lose you forever.”
“Kylian.”
“I’m a coward. Without you, I would be nothing.”
Anais didn’t like seeing her treasure put himself down, so she gently placed her hand on his mouth.
“Kylian.”
“Yes?”
“Please stop worrying. I forgive you now.”
“Wife…”
Before he could say anything else, Anais kissed him. Kylian, surprised that she was the one to initiate the kiss, stayed still for a moment before responding.
“I will do my best for you from now on.”
“Yes.”
Anais had overcome her past and fully embraced Kylian, and now he could love his wife without the anxiety that had plagued him.
Kylian then gently picked Anais up and carried her back to the Emperor’s bedroom. Anais returned to the Emperor’s bedroom again.
* * *
“Who dared to change the palace event without the Emperor’s permission?”
Kylian asked irritably. The banquet for the founding ceremony was supposed to be a masquerade, but the New Year’s Eve banquet was never planned to be.
But suddenly, an important detail had changed that evening.
“The Empress… suggested it.”
“That’s a great idea.”
Kylian glared at his assistant, relieved that Anais wasn’t present.
“From now on, tell me the important things first.”
The assistant quickly realized that the Emperor and Empress had reconciled. Normally, Kylian would have glared at him as if he was ready to kill him or sighed dramatically while staring into space. Or, he would have asked who the Empress was attending with.
The assistant had heard that the Emperor and Empress had slept together in the Emperor’s bedroom the night before, and Kylian had become unexpectedly calm and composed. Not long ago, he looked like he was about to lose his mind from anxiety…
“Your Majesty. The Empress noticed this flower two days ago.”
The assistant handed Kylian a hydrangea, explaining what one of Anais’s lady-in-waiting had told him. Kylian looked at the flower and his face immediately shifted back to a look of unease.
“This… is not good.”
“Why not?”
In the imperial gardens where the hydrangeas bloomed, Anais had collapsed after all her energy was drained.
“Remove all the hydrangeas from the palace.”
“But the Empress took the hydrangea today.”
“Anais did?”
Kylian was surprised. He knew that the hydrangea held painful memories for her, yet she had taken it. Perhaps she had done so out of resentment, as a way of punishing herself or him.
If Anais wanted to take revenge, he would face the consequences. If she was angry, that anger would be justified. Even if she hit him or punished him, as long as he could stay by her side, it wouldn’t matter.
She would love him, and over time, any negative feelings would fade away. The time it took was his responsibility.
“Ha.”
Kylian sighed and tucked the blue hydrangea into his chest pocket. Then he headed for the ballroom.
