When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 149.2
Lilith, abandoning her usual godly majesty, smiled contentedly and rubbed her head against Anais’s shoulder.
“Then let’s sleep.”
“Mm.”
Lilith led Anais to the bed. Anais climbed up, feeling slightly nervous. She adjusted the sheets and pulled them up to her chin, and Lilith tugged the sheets over her and lay down beside her.
“You’ll feel cold too.”
“If I, the God of Chaos, feel cold, that would be a serious issue.”
“True.”
Lilith laughed softly and looked at Anais. She propped herself up on her arm and stayed close to her.
“Tonight will be the last of the bad dreams.”
“Yes.”
“Please tell me what you’ll do after the New Year’s celebration ends. Will you let go of the memories, or will you keep them?”
Lilith placed her hand gently on top of Anais’ as she spoke.
“I’d prefer you let them go.”
“I’m still not sure.”
With that, Anais slowly drifted into sleep. Her heartbeat became calm, and her breathing gradually became more rhythmic.
Seeing that Anais had fallen asleep, Lilith once again returned her past life’s memories to her.
Anais remembered how Kylian had failed to recognize her and had tried to sacrifice her, how he had recklessly drained her energy for his own use, and how he had later recognized her and come searching for her.
She had regained all of her memories.

Kylian was unable to sleep. The Emperor’s bedroom had been rearranged, as he had changed many parts of it because he wanted to share it with Anais.
The bed was, of course, for two. Four pillows were prepared—one for when resting the head and the others for leaning back. The bed sheet was large enough for both of them to comfortably use.
Kylian’s gaze landed on the slippers Anais had left under the bed. The white slippers, abandoned like they had no owner, remained in the same place every day, untouched, because she didn’t wear them.
Unable to sleep, Kylian got out of bed.
The Emperor’s room now felt entirely different from what it used to. It clearly looked like a newlywed’s room, filled with items that had Anais’s traces. Books that Anais had read were on the shelf.
Kylian picked one at random. In the middle of the pages, there were marks where Anais had folded and unfolded the pages. When she had been deep in thought, she would mark the pages like that.
“Anais.”
Throughout the entire banquet, she had never looked his way, and even after he left, she hadn’t noticed.
The sense of regret in Kylian’s chest was overwhelming.
He knew that he was a sinner who needed to wait for her heart to soften. But the uncertainty was unbearable.
Kylian knew well that if Anais remembered everything and left him, he wouldn’t be able to live.
Knock knock.
“Are you sleeping?”
“Come in.”
Kylian was feeling hopelessly depressed that he figured that if it was a matter of his work, he might as well get to it. When the chief attendant knocked, he felt relieved.
“What is it?”
Kylian glanced at the letter the chief attendant handed him.
The seal on the letter had the mark of the temple. Realizing it was the seal of the Temple of Destruction, he quickly opened it.
[Damn you, Kylian Cypnos.
I had originally intended to torment you further, but seeing you in this state has drained my resolve. This will do for now.
Be thankful.
Lewarren]
Kylian stared at the letter coldly, then glanced at the box the chief attendant was holding, surprised. He recognized it immediately.
“What is this…?”
Kylian took the jewelry box and opened it. Inside were two locket necklaces that he had almost forgotten about.
He opened one of the lockets. Inside, there was a portrait of Anais on one side and his own portrait on the other.
It was then that Kylian realized why Lewarren had sent him such a thing in the early morning.
“Your Majesty?”
“I’m going to the Empress’s Palace.”
“But it’s 5 in the morning!”
Kylian, seemingly unaware of the chief attendant’s cry, held the necklace tightly and headed toward Anais. His movement was so fast that the guards accompanying him couldn’t catch up. By the time he arrived at Anais’s bedroom, no one was around.
“Your Majesty, the Empress is currently resting.”
“Move aside.”
Kylian gently pushed the guard aside and opened the door with great care. The sound of the door handle turning was so quiet it was almost imperceptible.
“Kylian.”
When Kylian opened the door, to his surprise, the room was not dark. Anais had lit a candle and was sitting on the bed, as though she had been waiting for him.
“Wife.”
“Why are you here?”
“Wife, I have something to say.”
Kylian realized that now was the time to ask for Anais’s forgiveness. He walked toward her feet and sat on the floor. The guards silently closed the door behind him.
“Wife.”
“I’ve remembered everything, Kylian.”
From her expressionless face, Kylian tried to read some emotion, but she remained utterly unreadable.
“Please, stop.”
Her words hit Kylian like a thunderclap. He blinked in shock.
