When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 127.1
Kylian knew that Lewarren could turn anything in his sight to ash. Therefore, he decided to distract him with his sword first, unleashing his sword energy to strike at Lewarren’s neck.
However, Kylian halted his attack as he observed Lewarren standing still, as if waiting to be struck. Instead, he unleashed a white sword energy to obscure Lewarren’s vision.
“Why are you trying to hold me back?”
“I wish for the God of Death to manifest.”
“Are you saying Goddess Roseraine will just watch this happen?”
“Goddess Roseraine has been asleep since this plan began.”
Lewarren recalled the goddess who had been asleep for four years as he looked at Kylian.
Kylian was desperate to save Anais. When he had no hope of saving her, he considered ending his own life, but each attempt had failed.
Watching Kylian, Lewarren began to prepare for what was to come.
“If the God of Death manifests, all life will perish. You know that.”
“I do.”
Lewarren smiled at Kylian’s response. Seeing his twisted smile made Kylian feel something was off.
“Tell me the truth. What are you planning?”
“Do you think I’ll tell you?”
“If you don’t speak in three seconds, I’ll strike you down and go look for my wife. I can simply confirm it once I arrive.”
“Then why ask me?”
“This is my last consideration for the bond between us.”
Kylian lowered his sword energy and stared directly at Lewarren. Lewarren met his gaze, a hint of regret in his smile.
Given that Kylian could easily break Lewarren’s arm the moment he raised it, it was actually more dangerous for Lewarren to be so close. Even if Lewarren possessed the power of destruction, he wouldn’t be able to inflict even the slightest harm on Kylian in a physical confrontation.
“The High Priest of Death is Lilith’s biological father.”
“…….”
“That’s why I’m helping.”
Lewarren sighed and smiled wryly.
“Lilith’s wishes might not be what you expect.”
“What do you mean?”
“It means that waiting for the God of Death to manifest here is for you and Anais.”
“How could that possibly be?”
Kylian felt his patience wearing thin. He concluded that listening to Lewarren’s words was a waste of time and turned to leave in search of Anais.
“Lilith will become God.”
“…What?”
“If Lilith becomes God, everything can be set right.”
“What do you mean by the God of Death correcting anything? Is the plan to make everything die and then call that correction? To manifest a god driven mad by slaughter?”
Lewarren stiffened at the unusual glint he saw in Kylian’s eyes.
“Exactly.”
“And that’s supposed to be for me and Anais?”
“…Yes.”
Wham! Kylian, having closed the distance, struck Lewarren’s face.
“Ugh…!”
Lewarren, who had fallen on the ground, looked up at Kylian, grabbing his arm.
“If you have nothing more to say, I’ll be on my way.”
Lewarren couldn’t just dispose of Kylian like this. He gasped for breath before releasing his grip.
“Why are you doing this now when you couldn’t even recognize Anais? Didn’t you once say you wanted to die?”
Kylian responded indifferently to Lewarren’s shouting.
“Sure, I felt that way before. But now that my wife is alive, why should I die? That will never happen.”
“Do you think Anais will forgive you?”
“All I need is to be near her.”
Lewarren glanced at Kylian and then saw the madness in his eyes as he turned to leave, causing him to faint. The aftereffects of facing Kylian’s overwhelming presence were unbearable.
* * *
Everything was silent. There were no signs of life anywhere.
It was as if even the mice in the palace had vanished, and the only sound came from his bedroom.
He ran with all his might. Kylian planned to seek forgiveness from Anais after resolving everything. If she didn’t forgive him, he would beg until she did.
If he chose the right path, lived a good life, and became a wise ruler, she would return. No matter how much she despised him, she wouldn’t be able to leave if she realized he couldn’t do anything without Anais.
Though it might take a long time to earn her love again, he would keep trying if given the chance. After reaching his bedroom, Kylian burst through the door.
Crash! With a loud bang, both doors flew off. Inside were the High Priest of Death and Lilith.
And there was Anais, asleep as if she had fainted.
“Anais!”
“You’ve arrived sooner than expected.”
Lilith said with a smile as she reached out. At that moment, Kylian found himself unable to move. A transparent barrier appeared, blocking his path.
“Are you really trying to become the God of Death?”
“Close, but not quite.”
Lilith thickened the barrier to stop him.
“Kylian, you can just watch.”
“Do you think I’ll stand by like that?”
“Yes.”
