We're in a Contract Marriage, But I've Imprinted - Chapter 101
“Get up.”
He naturally picked me up and carefully seated me at the dining table, then pulled up a chair to sit beside me. He spoon-fed me the soup himself.
“…Thank you.”
“It’s good to see you looking better. Still, you need to eat more.”
“Yes, I will.”
I felt relieved that he didn’t hate me, despite my foolish actions causing such a situation. I thought I deserved any resentment from him.
Just the thought of being hated by my alpha made my heart race. I tried to act normal as he fed me the soup.
After carefully feeding me the entire soup, he placed some fruits and dessert in front of me before cutting up his steak and ate it.
He ate his food quickly, with his usual elegant demeanor replaced by efficiency, as if merely satisfying hunger. After swiftly finishing his meal, he immediately fetched a medicine bottle.
“Let’s take your medicine.”
I involuntarily grimaced at the sight of the bottle. The antidote made by the doctor was unbearably bitter. It had been days since I started taking it. Surely, it was time to stop?
Sensing my hesitation, he gently tilted my chin up.
“You have to take it, even if you don’t like it. We can’t be sure how far that cursed poison has spread.”
Despite his tender tone, his words were sharp, his grip firm, and his gaze cold, almost like the glare of a predator.
“…Yes, I understand.”
I had no argument. It was all my fault, and we couldn’t be certain the poison was completely neutralized.
I opened the bottle, intending to get it over with quickly. But suddenly, he snatched the bottle from me and downed it in one gulp.
As I looked up at him in shock, he leaned in and sealed our lips.
As I automatically parted my lips, the medicine flowed from his mouth to mine. The bitterness of the medicine mixed with his potent pheromones made it hard to tell if I was ingesting the medicine or his pheromones.
Gulp.
As I finished taking the medicine, he gently patted my nape as if to praise me. Yet, his tongue still lingered inside, slowly tracing my mouth’s lining.
After a few strokes, his tongue withdrew. Seeing a thin thread of saliva that snapped as he pulled away, my face heated up.
“Hmm, I suppose this is a good way to administer medicine from now on.”
He muttered to himself, seemingly pleased with finding a better method. He then effortlessly lifted me back to the bed and gently placed me down. His kindness, though somewhat broken, made me uneasy, but I was ready to embrace even that distortion.
Knock, knock.
“Excuse me, Young Lord.”
“Come in.”
With his permission, Henry entered, holding a white box towards Ian.
“The item you mentioned just arrived.”
“Hmm, give it here.”
The box, identical to the one that had held a choker gift previously, caught my eye. Our gazes met immediately.
“Did you realize it’s a gift for you?”
“…A gift?”
Naturally, I was delighted by my alpha’s gift, yet I wondered if I truly deserved it. Hesitating to reach out, Ian told Henry.
“You can leave now”
“Understood.”
“Ah, have we received any news from that side?”
“No, we have received nothing yet.”
“I see.”
“Then, I’ll take my leave.”
After Henry left, it was just the two of us alone. Ian approached with the box. He sat on the bed and he offered it with a smile.
“Want to open it?”
“…Yes.”
The box I received was surprisingly heavy. I wondered if it was another choker.
My curiosity piqued so I opened it. There was an accessory filled with emerald jewels. Yet, I couldn’t tell its purpose due to a thick metal ring attached to a long chain.
The chain was as beautiful as the rest, but without knowing its use, I was at a loss for words.

Ian asked, noticing Melissa’s lack of joy at the gift.
“Do you not like it?”
“…No.”
When she hesitated to respond, he pressed further.
“It’s okay to be honest. If you don’t like it, we can simply order another.”
“It’s not that…”
“No.”
Her voice trailing off under his intense gaze that seemed to urge her on. After a pause, she finally said.
“It’s beautiful, but I’m not sure what it’s for.”
Ian blinked slowly and understood what his omega had said.
“You might not know. Would you hand it over to me?”.
“Yes.”
Melissa passed the box to him. Ian took the items out of the box and stood up. He knelt down on one knee, and with a light touch, slightly lifted the bed to attach a metal ring that was not adorned with jewels, to one of its legs.
“Ack!”
The bed shook momentarily. As Melissa was startled into a scream, Ian quickly soothed her in a gentle tone.
“Shh, there’s no need to worry. It’s already done.”
As the shaking bed stilled, Ian sat down at its edge and reached under the blanket.
“Excuse me for a moment.”
He then took her foot out from under the blanket and fastened the round ornament embedded with emerald jewels.
Click. The sound of cold metal locking into place resonated in the silent room. Melissa couldn’t hide her perplexed expression. But Ian proceeded to lock the ornament with a small key from the box.
“…Young Lord, what is this?”
She understanded the object’s apparent purpose, but couldn’t help but ask about it.
