Weed ~The One’s Gardener~ - Chapter 113
“Hana.”
Weed quietly called her name from behind, sounding cautious.
He must have known who Void was since she had explained him to him before. However, she never expected to run into him like this. Especially not with the three of them together.
Hana fanned herself and cleared her throat, trying to calm her flushed face.
“How did you get here?”
“Um…”
Void’s pitch-black eyes blinked a couple of times.
It seemed like he was trying to express some confusion in his own way. Since ‘that’ time, she had been able to feel the energy of this world, though she hadn’t specifically thought of him as a person. So, she never imagined she would meet him like this.
Void tilted his head expressionlessly.
“I don’t know. It seems like my self split off somehow.”
“When?”
“Um…”
He blinked again.
His words seemed to be understood, but his reaction was so slow that it was hard to tell if he was deep in thought or simply not thinking at all.
“Void?”
“Void. Yes, I’m Void.”
His dry voice carried an odd warmth.
Now that she thought about it, Void had always liked this. He had said he didn’t know the timing, but perhaps the moment he mentioned his self splitting off was when his name was given to him.
While Hana was lost in thought, Weed and Void locked eyes.
Though their animosity was faint, Weed narrowed his eyes and showed his displeasure. However, Void showed no sign of changing his expression. They stared at each other in silence for a long while before Void finally spoke.
“How long will you be here?”
She didn’t immediately understand his words, which seemed to come out of nowhere. With his indifferent expression, he asked what seemed like a very ordinary question.
However, after thinking about it a little more, she realized what he actually meant.
Since coming here, she had always left for somewhere else after a while. This time, he was asking when she would leave. It wasn’t a question she thought would come up under these circumstances, but then again, with Void, it might be different.
Hana rolled her eyes and then gave the answer she had in mind.
“Uh, um… until he dies?”
“You’re saying you’ll stay until he dies after granting him immortality?”
‘Ah, that’s what he meant.’
Hana finally understood what Void had been saying. She gave him a small smile, offering a simple answer along with it.
“Then, forever.”
“Will you stay here forever?”
“Yes.”
For the first time, Void’s expression completely changed. He squinted his eyes into crescent shapes and smiled. Was it just her, or did he look a little cute? Perhaps it was because he resembled Weed. The atmosphere was different, but his smile was just like Weed’s, like they were twins.
Void straightened up. He seemed as though he was about to leave after just asking how she was, but Hana casually asked,
“Do you want to come visit sometimes?”
“Visit? No.”
He shook his head slowly.
His movements were sluggish, and his reactions were slow. It was as if he was awkwardly inhabiting a strange, puppet-like body.
“I’m everywhere.”
Then, Void made a puff of black smoke and disappeared from her sight. But his presence didn’t fully vanish. He wasn’t anywhere, but he was everywhere. Hana could sense that clearly.
He had suddenly appeared and, just as suddenly, disappeared.
At first, she had been startled, but now it felt almost natural. Had she acted like it was no big deal? Hana turned to look at Weed, who seemed lost in thought and hadn’t said a word. Surprisingly, Weed had quickly let go of his wariness toward Void.
She poked him playfully in the side. Weed’s current mood was a bit different from when he dealt with Calden. He seemed a bit dazed, almost absent-minded.
“Weed, aren’t you jealous?”
She asked teasingly, but Weed whipped his head around. Without saying a word about it, he pulled her into a tight hug.
“Hana, is it true?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Are you really going to stay with me forever?”
Hana chuckled. So, this jealous man was worried about something like that?
“Idiot. I already told you I love you.”
“Ah.”
Weed smiled brightly. Hana reached up and playfully tapped his cheek with her finger. His smile spread like sunshine.
“Hana, I love you.”
“Mm, I love you too.”
There was no place to go while holding onto that smile.
Hana laughed with him, and soon, she had to endure his shower of kisses.
The morning brightened. Another day began, one that seemed just like all the others, with nothing particularly special about it.
