Villainous Husband, the One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There - Chapter 168
Chapter 84.2
As he drew closer to the Temple of Tunia, his determination grew stronger. He reached his destination on a clear evening. The weather was still chilly, in line with winter, and the sky was stained with shades of crimson, like a sea of blood. The horse he had ridden finally collapsed, foaming at the mouth.
Raniero left the fallen horse on the cold ground, unfastened the bow and sword he had kept in the saddle, and strapped them to his body.
He felt more energetic than ever.
…Angelica was close.
He could feel it throughout his body as his heart kept racing. It soared and throbbed.
His teeth trembled, yet he was happy.
While a cold wind pushed against his back as he walked towards the temple, the Archbishop was already at the door as if he had known he was coming. Raniero climbed the steps in front of the temple. Even though it was a spacious area, his voice resonated loudly.
“I’ve come to find my wife.”
The Archbishop gazed at him with composure. However, merely meeting his crimson eyes sent a wave of fear, causing his eyelids to tremble.
Even his voice trembled.
“She left.”
Raniero gripped the hilt of his sword and asked.
“When?”
“A few hours ago.”
“Where?”
The Archbishop recalled the image of the Empress leaving through the door. She had spoken to him, stating that she was going to the old sanctuary. Beside her, Eden cast a sidelong glance at him before he followed behind her.
“To the north…”
“That ruin.”
The old sanctuary, which had been repaired for several months, was no longer in ruins, but no one was still living there. The Archbishop now thought that he would immediately turn his back and chase after Angelica. However, Raniero had no intention of letting them rest easily like this.
“Give me the Saint.”
As the Archbishop’s shoulders twitched, someone shouted.
“Didn’t we reveal the whereabouts of the Empress?!”
Raniero’s response was cold.
“Shut up. This is the price you pay for deceiving me when I came here. Give me the Saint.”
He pushed the Archbishop aside without hesitation. Then, he plowed through the crowd and made his way through the Temple of Tunia. He knew where the Saint was staying.
All he had to do was go to the place where he had heard Angelica’s voice before.
As he walked without hesitation, just as he had when he had crossed the wilderness, he casually opened the door to the prayer room, where all believers of Tunia were reverent and not to be messed with.
In the middle of the prayer room, a woman with a very faint impression, in his eyes, was sitting and stood up. Her face turned pale as she realized who had entered. Even though she tried to hide her fear, her lips trembled. Just as Seraphina calmly extinguished the candles and collected the water basin, placing it back in its original spot, Raniero didn’t wait for her. He grabbed her wrist harshly and pulled her along.
It was purely brute force, without any sexual tension. Seeing Seraphina letting out a small scream, the priests looked at him with tense expressions. Raniero pulled her in with a sneer painted on his lips.
“You hid what is most important to me in your hands, so it’s only fair that I take what is most precious to you. Isn’t that only fair?”
Even as Seraphina was being dragged away, no one had the courage to stop Raniero, whose eyes were flashing with vigor. An overwhelming sense of fear rendered them incapable of moving a muscle.
Only then did they realize it.
Raniero had treated them very kindly up until now.
“If I safely get my hands on Angie, I’ll spare this woman as well. Though if I can’t find her…”
Sparks flickered in his bright red eyes.
“If something happens that makes me need to take her less than whole, this woman won’t go unharmed either.”
A thin whimper erupted from the priests. They wanted to plead with Raniero that the Empress of Actilus had been brought here by Eden arbitrarily, and they had no intention of quarreling with Actilus.
So, don’t take our Saint away.
However, Seraphina turned to them with a fragile smile and shook her head.
“It’s all right.”
She left them with a cryptic word.
“Because it’s not me.”
He disappeared from their sight in the blink of an eye.
Seraphina ran. No, it might be more accurate to say that she was dragged along at his speed. Her toes bent endlessly, and sometimes, she stumbled and sprained her ankle.
Raniero, of course, didn’t take care of her body.
It was late at night when they arrived in front of the old sanctuary.
Raniero stood still.
In the distance, dull pink hair was fluttering. It was the first time he had seen Angelica in such a long time. She was holding a bow. A bow, the weapon he had taught her.
She slowly aimed an arrow at him.
Raniero muttered.
“Yes. Shoot me, like that. See if you can shoot through me.”
As he stared intently into Angelica’s eyes, he could see that there was no affection in the light green eyes. Instead, they were filled with anxiety and fear. She seemed to believe that Raniero had to die immediately for her to feel safe.
The sight sent a chill through him.
Still, he also sensed her hesitation. The timid woman doubted whether her arrow could pierce him, who was blessed by the God of War.
After he pushed Seraphina away, Raniero, too, pulled an arrow from his quiver, knocked it onto his bow, and aimed it at Angelica.
He declared.
“Let’s finish this.”
