Ethan quickly caught the woman who collapsed right next to him.

“REINA!”

However, his urgent cry was buried by the sacred echo that followed.

Ah— Ah— Ah—

Wonderful chords flowed in from all sides, filling this entire place. It was unknown where it was coming from, but it filled in between all the people here, like the very air that existed throughout the world.

The knights of the nine households, the paladins and the villagers who were watching stopped what they were doing in unison, as though they had agreed to act as one before this peculiar situation.

Why is it that you all refuse to listen to me when I have already directly sent my will to you.

The sacred echoes reached the recesses of everyone’s mind, but just hearing it was already too much to bear. The first to respond was Zatro, the captain of the paladins.

“I-It is…!!”

Thud—!

“The Almighty Utta!”

As though he was overcome with such excitement that was about to take away his breath, he dropped to the ground at once and kept his head on the floor.

The platinum helmet he was wearing was called the pride of the knights of the holy land, but it was merely rolling around on the dirty soil now. Nevertheless, the paladin continued to keep his head on the ground as if he had yet to notice.

“Ahh! The Almighty Utta!”

Everything happened in a flash.

All of the armed paladins dropped to their knees together, and the priests had also gone outside and knelt as well. This included the high priest.

Only two people were not part of this.

Ethan and Eli were worried only about Reina, and they held on tightly to the woman who was having a seizure while crying out to her.

“Reina! Wake up!”

“Noona! What’s wrong?!”

Were those two voices even reaching her? For a moment, the woman stopped writhing.

But this peace of mind was momentary. All of a sudden, as though someone had tied a rope around her torso and was now pulling her up into the sky, the woman’s limp body was being dragged up in the air.

“REINA!”

Ethan used a high-ranked spell to try and take back Reina as she was soaring up to the sky. However, the light that had started spreading across her body became more and more visible, and it had deflected his spell perfectly.

“……!”

What? It deflected his spell? Ethan’s eyes went wide open.

‘How could this be…’

Then, one of the devotees who was watching everything shouted.

“U-Utta…! The Almighty Utta is finally here!!”

With that declaration, the priests, the paladins, the knights of the nine households and all the villagers bowed at once, dropping to the ground and keeping their heads to the floor.

“Ahh, the Almighty Utta has descended upon the moral realm!”

“Save us, O God…!”

All except for two people.

“REINA!”

“NOONA!”

Only Ethan and Eli could not take delight in this situation.

“Uuugh…”

At the same time her eyes tried to flutter open, the distinct sensation of her skin being torn open with a box cutter wracked through her. When she finally opened her eyelids, which felt as heavy as lumps of iron, she let out a groan. Her vision was exceedingly blurry.

Reina blinked several times as though trying to remove foreign substances over her eyes. Then, slowly, her vision began to clear up.

The first thing that caught her attention was the high ceiling above her. It looked like they were three floors high.

‘Where am I…’

When she turned her head slightly, a pang of pain came over her eyes again. Still, the room that was previously blurry gradually became more and more clear.

Evidently enough, this was a sacred room where light was pouring in through the glass windows, hitting the wall where an enormous mural had been painted.

Slowly sitting up, Reina looked around her unfamiliar surroundings. Everything here was made of marble that was so white, even a single speck of dust would stand out completely.

“Reina.”

When she turned her head to face the voice, she found Ethan, who was at the other side of the room. She pressed a hand over her eyes a few times, as if trying to correct her vision, which refused to return properly.

“Are you awake?”

She felt a sharp pain in her throat. Ethan soon gave her a glass of water as though he knew about her condition right away before she could even say it out loud.

“Thank you.”

His face was gaunt, like he had been hard at work lately. While Reina was drinking water, he swept a hand over his face tiredly then sat down on the chair next to the bed.

“Reina, you definitely promised me before.”

“Huh?”

As she had just woken up and was still quite dazed, Reina was puzzled. She was suddenly being reproached.

“What kind of promise—”

But before she could hear his answer, a loud noise invaded the space around them.

Thud—!

“You’ve woken up, Saintess!”

It was none other than the high priest, who had been at odds with Reina until recently.

“Are you feeling alright, Saintess?!”

Was it because of his loud voice?

It felt as if the effects of a hangover was slamming into her belatedly, like the blood vessels in her head had popped off. At the same time, the last scene she saw before she lost consciousness flashed through her mind like a film reel.

This child’s words convey my will. I warn you all against thoughtlessly brushing such words aside.

“Ah…”

Only then did she remember, and she let out a small gasp without realizing it. Her lavender eyes dazedly looked up at the symbol of Utta on the wall.

‘That… couldn’t have been Utta.’

Surely, it had crossed her innermost thoughts before.

It’s not something that was in line with her personal beliefs and principles, but just something that passed through her thoughts impulsively.

‘If only I have that…’

It would be possible to break through the stubbornness of the believers of Utta.

As she turned her gaze slowly, she looked at the high priest and the other priests who had followed him into the room.

They all looked as if they had witnessed a miracle.

“Your Eminence the Saintess, how are you feeling?”

“……”

By the way, did everyone get matching iron plates that they’re using as solid masks over their faces?

Even the high priest and Lyton, who had blatantly insulted her to her face before, were regarding her with such reverence without a single hint of embarrassment in their demeanors.

‘I feel like my intestines are getting all twisted up…’

Right. That’s exactly how it felt.

No matter how astounding this sight was, the change they had undergone was really much too extreme. She was absolutely confounded.

“Saintess, are you feeling ill??”

In the end, she could not hold back the sour expression painting her face as these people desperately rushed to get on her good side.

Then, the high priest bowed down his head as though he had committed a great crime.

“We…! We were ignorant. We did not understand Your Eminence’s intentions. We apologize immensely!”

The moment their leader did so, the paladins and the priests all fell to their knees as well.

“Ha…”

People say that when you’re speechless, the first instinct was to laugh.

And it seemed to be true. Even though this was not at all a pleasant situation, laughter kept slipping through her lips.
