The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 66
Chapter 66
“If this keeps up, that imbecile might actually become the next Duke Modreo. What a disaster.” Camin was wasting his life dealing with his foolish brother. Enrique resolved to try and persuade Camin once more, for the sake of the Modreo family and the kingdom of Fleurose.
Meanwhile, Crescent continued his rant, undeterred. “Why won’t anyone believe me! Why do you all trust him? Why does this always happen…!” His bloodshot eyes and frantic shouting were a truly pathetic sight. In contrast, Camin, though still held captive, remained the picture of composure and nobility.
Enrique couldn’t stand it any longer. He gestured to the knights behind him. “Get him out of here. Deal with this.” The knights rushed forward and seized Crescent. He struggled violently, refusing to release Camin’s collar even as they dragged him away.
“This time, he’s banned from the royal palace,” Enrique said, shaking his head in disgust. He’d tolerated Crescent’s behavior until now, partly due to Duke Modreo’s pleas and Camin’s intervention, but this was the last straw. Such a disgraceful scene at the Imperial Prince’s welcoming party was a national embarrassment. It was fortunate the prince wasn’t present.
“Your Highness.” Startled by the voice, Enrique turned to see Leybid standing there, seemingly out of nowhere. Enrique felt his face flush as he hastily apologized. “Your Highness, I apologize for this unsightly display at the welcoming party. This is not a common occurrence, and I’m mortified it happened at such a time…”
“Not at all. I was so engrossed in enjoying the party that I didn’t even notice the commotion,” Leybid replied with a cheerful grin, appearing genuinely unconcerned. Enrique sighed in relief, then noticed something—or rather, someone—bundled in Leybid’s arms, completely enveloped by his crimson cloak.
“Who is that?” Enrique asked. Leybid chuckled. “One of the Omegas. They’ve been an exceptional host, ensuring I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the party.”
“Ah, I see,” Enrique replied, mirroring Leybid’s smile and nodding. As he’d suspected, the open-minded prince had found agreeable company. Leybid, clearly delighted with the kingdom’s festivities, surveyed the ballroom with a satisfied expression. “My, my, what a splendid scene. Your kingdom’s ball culture is truly remarkable and… desirable.”
“Haha… I’m pleased Your Highness finds it so agreeable.”
“Indeed. I’ve taken quite a liking to this Omega. I’d like to take them with me to… continue enjoying their company elsewhere. Would that be permissible?”
“Of course, Your Highness,” Enrique said, his face brightening. The prince’s obvious enjoyment of the party and his appreciation for the kingdom’s culture were excellent signs. This ball had been a promising start. He made a mental note to identify and reward the Omega who had so effectively entertained Leybid.
“My sincere thanks. If you’ll excuse me…” Leybid gave a slight bow and strode towards the ballroom exit.
Behind him, the commotion had finally subsided. Camin watched as the knights dragged a still-struggling Crescent away, then sighed. He turned towards the curtains, but they hung straight and still, concealing nothing.
