Enrique suppressed a surge of frustration at her hesitant words. He understood why she was acting this way. Whenever he barged into her chambers like this, she was always reprimanded, so of course she wanted to avoid him. The foolish Omega was a narrow-minded coward.

But he couldn’t understand why Crown Prince Leybid was being so protective of Arlenrose, preventing him from speaking with her. It was incredibly suspicious.

Lost in his suspicions, Enrique finally spoke. “Then I’ll just ask here. Arlenrose, I heard you were out with His Highness yesterday. Tell me, where were you and what were you doing while Graham’s mansion was under attack?”

Enrique’s gaze shifted to Leybid. “Your Highness?”

“Yes. I happened to be with her, after all. It seems I made the right decision to stay.” Leybid gestured to the opposite sofa with a flourish. “Here, Your Highness. This might take a while, so you should sit down.”

He was pointing to the seat next to Arlenrose. From there, Enrique would have a clear view of Leybid’s expressions, but Arlenrose’s face would be harder to read. Enrique felt a prickle of unease, but he sat down. As soon as he settled onto the sofa, Leybid suddenly lowered his gaze and blushed.
