In the middle of such chaos, Jean could barely keep her wits about her.

A chill swept through her that her teeth nearly chattering, but her mind boiled with heat, as though it would consume her.

Reflecting her anxious state, the uncontrolled magic swelled violently.

At a loss, Jean clutched her shoulders, trembling in shock, and then spat out a mouthful of blood.

Seizing the opportunity, a knight threw away his broken sword and lunged at her like a beast.

As he stepped on the shredded red carpet, aiming to grab her unprotected head, a sharp pain struck his side.

Like a bolt of lightning, Nix kicked the knight away.

Thud!

The knight was sent flying and collided hard with the opposite wall before sliding to the floor.

Nix landed swiftly with his boots, quickly wrapping his arm around Jean’s waist.

Gemma, who had frantically drew her sword, noticed the scene.

“Capture her!”

At Gemma’s demonic scream, knights rushed in from all directions.

Nix, holding Jean with one arm, effortlessly toppled the first knight who came at him and seized his sword without delay.

As the knights hesitated to retreat, Nix plunged the blade into the marble floor with all his strength.

Suddenly, all the windows in the banquet hall shattered, and sharp light pierced through.

The wind swept through the room so fierce that no one could open their eyes. The unprepared guests fluttered about like pieces of paper, and even the seasoned knights were sent sprawling on the ground.

A colossal airship roared as its engines revved, flying just outside the banquet hall.

Kugugugugu!

“Captain!”

From beyond the harsh lights, a youthful voice called out as a rope descended.

Nix, who had been enduring the wind pressure with the sword driven into the ground, slowly lifted Jean, who had fainted, and hoisted her onto his shoulder.

As he began to rise, a middle-aged knight, who had barely avoided the gust behind a pillar, hurriedly aimed his rifle.

The target was Nix Heidegger… No, it was Jean Rohrbach, whose body hung limply from his shoulder.

As Nix Heidegger stood, Jean Rohrbach’s body swayed weakly with his movements. The rifle barrel shifted slightly and pointed towards her heart.

The knight’s finger tensed on the trigger, but suddenly, a loud voice from behind him shouted.

“What are you doing to my brother?!”

Luke Heidegger, who had been supporting an elderly retainer and helping him evacuate, was pointing at him with a shocked face.

The knight hastily checked his target and met Nix Heidegger’s cold, red eyes.

Gritting his teeth, the knight aimed again.

Without warning, Nix Heidegger turned and dashed into the raging wind. His long, powerful legs cut across the banquet hall like a horse galloping across a meadow.

The knight’s finger was poised on the trigger, desperate to catch him.

Reaching the window, Nix slammed his foot into the marble floor with such force that it seemed he would split it, and leaped.

Luke Heidegger’s hand shot out, grabbing the knight by the collar as he lunged forward.

Bang!

The knight, not losing focus even in the final moment as his body was wrenched around, desperately pulled the trigger.

The compressed magical bullet shot straight through the chaotic air, piercing the atmosphere.

At the same moment, Nix’s body twisted mid-air. Particularly, the shoulder with Jean Rohrbach began to lean back swiftly, evading the bullet’s trajectory.

The blazing magic bullet skimmed past his cheek, narrowly missing.

Luke restrained the knight and the man groaned and slammed his forehead into the marble floor.

Breathing heavily, Luke looked out the window at his brother’s back, who was slowly disappearing into the distance.

Nix, falling in a gentle arc, reached out and grabbed the rope.

The airship, which had been spinning wildly, began to move again. It scraped roughly against the castle walls, sending sparks flying, and barely managed to turn.

As the airship advanced with power, its rear engines unleashed a gust of wind, sweeping everything in the banquet hall once more.

“Shoot! We can’t let them get away!”

The knights, who had rushed out to the terrace too late, hastily raised their rifles, aiming at the airship.

With hollow gunshots, several magical bullets cut through the night sky, yet achieved nothing.

Hanging from the rope, Nix finally glanced back at the ruined castle.

The shattered windows and the beautiful fragments of the outer wall were half-destroyed.

Amidst it all, Gemma Heidegger watched the retreating figures of those who had left with a venomous gaze and led her subordinates.

‘…The eldest may become a fine knight after all.’

Swallowing the lingering regret that rose like bile, Nix forced himself to turn away.

As he returned, the vast night sky stretched endlessly before him, welcoming him back.
