Enya gazed at Tarhan.

Sweat trickled down her forehead. Instead of wiping it away, she brushed his hair aside and murmured.

“So you must live. Follow this path to the very end, with all your strength.”

“Wait, you…”

Tarhan tried to sit up, confusion etched across his face.

Enya reached out to stop him. Just then, the wolf at the cave’s entrance rose to its feet as faint dawn light began to seep inside.

Daybreak had finally arrived.

As the light spilled directly onto Enya, Tarhan squinted against the brightness, momentarily closing his eyes before slowly opening them again. After a pause, he managed to mutter.

“Wh, what did you just say…? The baby…”

Enya slowly pulled her back away from the wall and rubbed his hand, which still rested on her abdomen.

“It seems like there’s a baby.”

Despite her calm voice, he seemed far from composed. He suddenly fidgeted, his hands trembling.

“When did… no, what do you mean…?”

She straightened up and gently settled onto his lap, shifting from being on the ground to sitting on his thigh. Tarhan was initially taken aback by the sudden closeness, though he quickly hugged her waist comfortably.

“Tarhan.”

As soon as she was seated on his lap, Enya threw her arms around his neck.

He smelled of rain and wet foliage. After such a long time, being held in his warm, broad embrace felt so reassuring that she had to bite her lip to keep from crying. For a moment, Tarhan remained still, as if frozen, then he slowly wrapped his arms around her.

Enya lifted a hand to gently stroke his neck, noticing that he still seemed a bit dazed. He let out a soft sound.

“Enya, wait a moment… Before we do this, we need to talk…”

But Enya didn’t wait.

She reached out to touch his cheek and sought his lips. She felt him resist slightly, so she furrowed her brow and whispered in his ear.

“Tarhan… kiss me.”

Heat radiated from him like boiling.

“En, Enya…”

Tarhan seemed momentarily at a loss for words, his body stiffening in surprise at her sudden request.

However, there was no way he could reject her. Finally, with a low exhale, his hands found their way into her short hair, and the sound of their heavy breathing echoed softly through the cave.

Enya felt a sense of relief that he was still responding to her, even in a moment like this. As their lips met, the warmth between them surged more intensely. It had been so long since they had shared a kiss, and the sensation was as pleasurable as being naked and entwined together.

As his familiar touch found its way across her body, Enya instinctively responded, like oil poured onto a fire. It felt completely natural.
