“Um… Lady Closch?”
“Yes?”
“Could you come over here for a moment?”
Irene approached with a curious look, then noticed Lacie holding the woman’s hand without letting go.
“Could it be…”
“Yes, I feel the same energy as yours, albeit faintly.”
Upon hearing Lacie’s words, Irene immediately called Aiden.
“Excuse us for a moment.”
The rescued woman, still clueless, had to hold another noble’s hand. Aiden let go of the woman’s hand with a bright expression, saying,
“She’s definitely a Guide. She has an energy similar to Rose.”
Irene immediately asked the woman,
“What’s your name?”
“…I’m Bonica. Thank you so much for saving me.”
Hearing a name that was among the varieties of roses, Irene was certain that names were indeed clues.
“For now, come with us. It’s dangerous to stay here.”
“Yes, thank you so much.”
Their group, now eleven in number, began to move again. Monsters sprang up wherever they went, but quickly vanished. It was remarkable how they kept encountering new Espers and Guides.
Following the new Espers with exceptional hearing and vision, they rescued civilians in danger, and their numbers grew to over thirty.
Irene felt amazed.
“How is it possible to meet like this?”
To follow the sequence of stars and rose varieties listed, she initially planned to leave the capital. But the monster wave brought them back to the city center, where they met Matthew and the Guide, Bonica, and then continued to meet more, leading to a sense of bewilderment.
“Indeed, Your Ladyship. It feels like someone has arranged this path for us.”
Lacie’s comment was met with a nod from Aiden.
“Indeed. Maybe the Goddess is helping us?”
The subsequent remark sent a current through Irene’s body. The two did not know she might actually be a real saintess. But for Irene, who knew the truth, Aiden’s words felt significant.
What if all this really was the Goddess’s will?
Irene was confused. Were the moments she believed to be her own choice genuinely hers? Doubts about whether it was her will or the Goddess’s intention blurred in her mind. She watched the people running in front of her with wavering eyes.

Ciel had been flying, incinerating every visible monster he’d encounter. He hadn’t forgotten his mission to save civilians, but the anxiety that any missed monster might attack Irene was too overwhelming to ignore.
Graaaah!
He effortlessly burnt the monsters and checked if Irene was around.
People, seeing a noble-looking man rescuing them, stared in astonishment and were about to express their gratitude, but he’d vanish just a second later.
Ciel had already taken to the air again, heading elsewhere. Hunting down monsters one by one, he stumbled upon a partially destroyed building.
The damage was more severe here, naturally drawing his attention. He landed and inspected the inside of the store, discovering a strange space. He realized that it was where the monster wave had originated.
A small opening was almost completely sealed, preventing monsters from escaping. Proving this, a giant monster’s arm lay on the ground.
Observing the oddly closed entrance, he somehow felt that Irene had been here.
“Haa…”
Finally getting a clue of her trail, he could breathe properly. He gazed at the still flickering origin space and then stepped back.
Memories of foolishly following Seo-yoon across dimensions in the past came back to him. Although many memories were faint, some persistently haunted him.
“Huu… Get a grip.”
Ciel shook his head, muttering to himself. Using his wind ability to soar to the air, he focused on the sounds—people’s screams and monsters’ roars. He was drawn by a familiar voice below, where he had just descended.
“Ah, why is this gate so small! Ugh, damn it!”
He looked down at a head squeezing through a small gap in the space. Long black hair swayed, followed by an arm poking out.
“Uuuugh, so tight.”
As Seo-yoon struggled, the nearly closed entrance of the space widened.
“Finally!”
As her body passed through, the space, still emitting ominous energy, undulated. Seo-yoon lay sprawled on the ground, catching her breath, then lifted her head.
Right then, piercing blue eyes met hers. Thinking that she had encountered something bizarre, her eyes widened enormously.
But the moment she realized who it was that’s glaring ferociously at her, Seo-yoon held her breath in response.
