Obviously, It's My Child - Chapter 234
Of course, offering the signet ring would be far more fulfilling.
Horst quietly stood up after watching Hermann smile to himself.
“Where are you going?”
“To Cornelia. There’s nothing else to take from the study, so feel free to use whatever you need.”
Hermann looked up at him and smiled.
“The camellias in the garden have bloomed beautifully. Take one of those with you.”
“I don’t need advice.”
Horst said this and stepped outside.
Hermann was right. In the garden, the camellia tree, which had been pruned, had large blossoms fully bloomed.
Horst carefully picked the largest flower and cradled it gently in his hand.
He then headed towards where Cornelia would be waiting.

- The Forgotten Person
It was late afternoon, but Claire was still in bed. Her stomach hurt, her body felt uncomfortable, and her eyelids wouldn’t lift.
The blood festival had started early this morning, almost ten days late.
‘Ugh…’
Claire groaned, hugging a warm water bottle to her body, feeling drained and closing her eyes. She wished she could sleep, but she usually had trouble sleeping during this time.
It felt like it wasn’t this painful in her past life.
She longed for modern civilization—effective painkillers, electric heating pads that fit perfectly on the stomach, and soft, large body pillows.
No, thinking about it, she realized she was happy not having to go to work.
‘It’s bittersweet.’
She had thought that, since it was ten days late, this could be a sign of pregnancy.
She hadn’t planned on having a child anytime soon, though. There was so much going on, and it wasn’t an ideal time for relaxed prenatal care.
But it wasn’t that it was out of the question, so she kept a loose attitude, thinking if it happened, she’d just have the baby.
After all, the most effective contraception during this time was simply not doing it.
‘It almost feels like it’s coming to a house that’s okay with getting pregnant, but it’s arriving late.’
Honestly, it felt quite late, even considering the wedding.
It was funny thinking about Erich, who had come storming in five years ago, assuming they’d conceive in just one night. He probably thought he was some kind of sniper.
Should she tease him about it?
She thought of some trivial joke to herself, but eventually, she grew tired and sprawled back out.
Then, the door clicked open.
Claire, thinking it was Martha coming to change her water bottle, stayed still with her eyes closed. Suddenly, a finger brushed against her lips.
The scent of ink filled the air as the finger gently parted her lips, and a thin chocolate was pushed into her mouth. Claire accepted it, mumbling with it in her mouth and opened her eyes.
Erich had slipped his hand under the blanket.
She was about to ask what he was doing, but he took the lukewarm water bottle from her hand and replaced it with a hot one.
This was actually kind of nice.
Not only was she not going to work, but she also had a husband who didn’t go to work, bringing her chocolates and heating her water bottle.
Martha took good care of her when she was alone, but it wasn’t quite the same.
“Was there something going on?”
“I just asked William how the departure is going. Why don’t you try to sleep a bit more?”
“I can’t sleep.”
Claire patted the pillow next to her, inviting him to sit.
Erich slipped off his slippers and obediently climbed on the bed. Although he did have some work, there was no separate office, and there were no meetings to attend.
He could just sit on the bed and go over some letters.
Claire pulled his thigh towards her, using it as a cushion, and laid down. The sheets were warm from the water bottle beneath her.
“What did Will say? It’s not because of me that the schedule is delayed, is it?”
“Most of the ships from the Ludendorff port are being redirected to Bismarck Port, so both arrivals and departures are delayed. William didn’t expect it to be this serious.”
“Can’t you handle it?”
“Are you testing me now?”
Instead of replying, Erich gently placed another piece of chocolate into Claire’s mouth. She mumbled while chewing.
“Mm, no. I was really just asking.”
“Pulling forward the departure sequence isn’t difficult, but it seems there’s still a lot of preparation to do. They’re running low on supplies, too.”
“Ah, right.”
“And there’s Elliott. Of all the ships William has, the only one with proper cabins is the cargo ship. It’s okay for us, but they’re a little concerned about just putting the kid on board.”
Claire groaned briefly.
“Wouldn’t it be better to just take a fishing boat and go a short way? It might be more fun to watch, too.”
“William probably has something in mind.”
“Yes… He wouldn’t be preparing without considering that.”
Claire sighed. If she had known the departure would take this long, she would’ve left later from the villa.
“At least you’re not going to board the ship in bad condition, so isn’t that a good thing?”
“That’s true.”
In an era without disposables, she didn’t want to create laundry on the sea.
Claire quietly opened her eyes and looked up at Erich.
Would he really not feel disappointed?
Was there truly no difference between accepting Elliott as their child and having their own biological child?
They had agreed to delay the timing, but there might still be some unspoken sadness about it.
“What’s wrong?”
Erich noticed her gaze and looked down at her.
