While trying to regain her composure and self-control, she felt his firm member rubbing subtly against her inner thigh.

“How about rough and intense this time?”

The warmth of his arousal pressed slowly between her legs. She could feel the thick veins and the pulsing sensation distinctly. The pleasure he had given her before resurfaced, causing her body to heat up. Her lower body twitched in anticipation and became wet.

She closed her eyes tightly. The familiar sensation made it even harder to endure.

‘Since I need to get the information anyway…”’

Pretending to be unable to resist, she gently draped her arm around his neck.

* * *

Her body ached from using muscles she wasn’t accustomed to. She still felt a foreign sensation inside. The lingering feeling that her lower body was still stretched out in his shape made her furrowed her brow as she walked awkwardly.

“Among the seven who know that the purification ritual doesn’t work on Your Majesty, who are they? Well, me, the fox bastard, Nix, and also that woman, Batusha… Oh, and the Favorite Concubine too.”

Recalling what Bliss had told her, she felt a sense of relief.

Friedrich doesn’t know. That’s enough.

“Straighten your posture.”

A servant, stationed before the ornate door, admonished her. This meant that the Crown Prince was on the other side.

As Regina adjusted her appearance, the servant announced her arrival, and she was granted permission to enter. The Crown Prince sat in a perfectly composed manner, from head to toe, in his chair.

“I have a question regarding yesterday.”

“Please, ask.”

“Are you able to sense the presence of devilkins?”

“I’ve only experienced it twice so far, so I’m not entirely certain, but it seems so.”

“How does it feel?”

“A chilling, unpleasant coldness flows down my spine.”

Someone wrote down Regina’s response on paper.

The Crown Prince then asked several more questions, all of which were recorded in detail. Given that a devilkin appearing in the middle of the palace was unprecedented, gathering information was a necessary procedure.

The Crown Prince, after asking detailed questions about the monster seen at the academy, rested his chin on his hand and fell into thought.

“Your sensing ability could be very useful.”

The Crown Prince said, causing Regina to pause. The conversation was taking an uncomfortable turn.

“I would like you to cooperate with me for the sake of this country.”

The Crown Prince was making an unwelcome suggestion. Regina bit her tongue in frustration.

‘I’ve dug my own grave.’

To excuse herself, she had assumed that any examination beyond a certain level would detect that energy. She realized her mistake only after discovering that even the Swordmaster, Bliss, had not noticed it.

By then, she had already decapitated the devilkin with ease. What she had anticipated was dealing with the devilkin for a brief, attention-grabbing scenario, not becoming the sole entity capable of detecting demonic energy and being used continuously.

Realizing she had inadvertently stepped on her own foot, Regina felt bitter.

The Crown Prince’s request was no mere request; it was a command, impossible to refuse. How could an ordinary person defy a proposal from the Crown Prince? One undeniable fact was that her plan to avoid the Empire entirely after leaving the academy had been completely ruined.

To ignore the Crown Prince’s request and run away in the dead of night? She would be dragged back by knights and forced to face the Crown Prince again. At that point, she wouldn’t even expect basic humane treatment, let alone guarantee her family’s safety.

Knowing well the power and methods of the imperial family, she decided not to resist. It would be futile to struggle.

“What should I do?”

“If the devilkin’s goal is war, they must already be hiding in the Empire’s core areas. I’ve compiled a list of places where I suspect they’ve infiltrated. We need to create reasons to visit these places one by one, and you will accompany me to use your sensing ability to determine if there are demons present.”

In other words, he wanted to use her as a detection tool.

Regina felt faint. Accompanying the Crown Prince and meeting people who could be considered the Empire’s core? Wasn’t this essentially begging for someone from her past life to discover her?

It felt like she had already met most of them, but there were still some of the seven she hadn’t encountered yet.

“Regarding my studies…”

“I will make sure to call you on weekends so that there’s minimal disruption to your academic work. If it’s unavoidable to call you during the week, I’ll inform the dean to ensure that you won’t suffer any disadvantages for missing classes.”

Her attempt to use her student status as an excuse was futile. With the threat of a potential war with the demon realm, the Crown Prince had no intention of letting her go just to focus on her studies.

Although she knew it was a long shot, she tried anyway, grasping at straws.

Regina, feeling the overwhelming urge to collapse in defeat, suppressed her desire to lay down and give up. She was interrupted by an arrogant voice.

“You must be pleased to have caught my eye. Well, you’ve got the capability to match your ambition, so I suppose that’s something.”

The Crown Prince’s condescending tone, as if granting her some great honor, left Regina stunned. What kind of arrogance was this? It seemed as though he thought she was desperate to impress him.

‘No matter how free one is to have delusions, how did I end up in such a ridiculous misunderstanding?’

As Regina exited the meeting with a sour expression, she was stopped in her tracks by an unexpected sight.

A man draped in the robes symbolizing the Master of the Magic Tower. Prince Iskanda’s reincarnation, Darien, stood before her. The dark purple robe was not easily visible, but there was no mistaking the blood spattered on his sleeves.
