My Past Life is Riddled With Many Sins - Chapter 145
“Skyler Linzmeyer, why do you hate Friedrich so much?”
Though he was the embodiment of jealousy and didn’t like anyone, Bliss’s hatred for Friedrich seemed particularly intense.
“Do you really not know? Every time you meet that bastard…”
Bliss seemed to be about to say something more, but then he clamped his mouth shut and changed the subject.
“Never mind, let’s talk about something more pleasant, my Regina.”
She stared at him for a moment before asking,
“Something pleasant to talk about, or something pleasant to do?”
“Both are welcome.”
“Really? Then let’s see if you can take it.”
As she swung her mana-charged fist, Bliss barely managed to dodge in panic. Instead, the couch’s backrest shattered under the force of her punch. The dust from the broken backrest and the golden glow of her mana surrounded them, and as Bliss stared blankly at the scene, she spoke.
“You’re right. Doodling is childish. But punishment is something you do with a fist.”
“Huh? Ah, punishment? Did I do something wrong?”
Concentrating mana into her legs, she answered firmly.
“You didn’t take care of the bed sheets in my dorm room.”

“Do you know why the Dean looks like that?”
The Crown Prince pointed at Bliss, who had a plaster cast on his arm.
“I’m not sure. Maybe he got hurt during training?”
Hearing Regina’s indifferent answer, Bliss’s green eyes narrowed with a hint of resentment. Regina pretended to look at the distant mountains, avoiding his gaze.
She knew he was deliberately giving her that look, but in truth, he seemed to acknowledge his mistake and had reluctantly accepted it. After all, he was a Swordmaster too, and if he had truly resisted, she wouldn’t have been able to leave unscathed.
The Crown Prince glanced between her and Bliss, then made a strange face. It seemed he had deduced that only another Swordmaster, like her, could have reduced Bliss to such a state, but he didn’t pursue it further. Instead, he casually muttered a remark.
“Maintain your public image. You’re not just the dean of the academy.”
The exact meaning of the statement was unclear. It didn’t seem like something he meant for her to understand, so she gave up on trying to figure it out. If he had given her a hint, she would have dug more, but there was no point in wasting time on vague statements like that.
“If you need treatment, just let us know, Dean.”
“It’s fine. These are just the marks left after spending a good time with someone I like.”
Bliss’s response made the Archbishop Duke look uncomfortable. The Crown Prince turned to look at her with a confused expression, as if he had heard something he shouldn’t have. Regina felt like digging a hole and hiding in it.
The Archbishop Duke was one of the three highest-ranking Ecclesiastical princes with the power to elect the Emperor, and he was a senior official ranked within the top five of the church hierarchy.
The Crown Prince, the Archbishop Duke, and the two Swordmasters made up an unusual group heading toward the Kirel Kingdom, which was believed to be a place where devilkins resided.
Based on information gathered by the underground information guild, the locations where devilkins and monsters had appeared were connected by lines, creating an incomplete reverse pentagram on the map.
The final corner needed to complete the reverse pentagram was located in the Kirel Kingdom.
Regina had left the trolley containing the relevant documents at the church, and the church shared this information with the imperial family. As a result, the imperial family, the church, one dean and Swordmaster, and one Swordmaster slash detector were all heading toward the Kirel Kingdom.
Naturally, since it wasn’t a distance that could be covered by walking in just a day or two, teleportation magic was essential, and thus, a wizard from the Magic Tower was assigned to accompany them. The same magic would be necessary for the return journey.
‘There’s no way the wizard being dispatched is Prince Iskandar, right?’
From the church, instead of Valenti, the Archbishop Duke had come. Therefore, Regina wondered if, in the Magic Tower, someone other than Darien would be sent.
She desperately hoped it wouldn’t be Darien. While it was already hard enough to deal with Bliss, this time, there was an even greater reason. The Kirel Kingdom was essentially the successor to the Lislet Kingdom, which happened to be Darien’s homeland. The very kingdom that the warmonger Yekarna had destroyed without question…
Since the Kirel Kingdom had arisen on the ruins of Lislet, they were geographically identical. She didn’t want to bring Darien along. Even though he had said he didn’t resent her, seeing another kingdom take root where his homeland had once stood could provoke him to cast offensive magic at her.
‘Come to think of it, why did Yekarna destroy the Lislet Kingdom?’
There must have been a reason, but it was such an old matter that she couldn’t recall the details.
“Oh, here comes the wizard.”
The Archbishop Duke cheerfully spoke to her. Since their first meeting, the Archbishop Duke had been unusually friendly toward her. Even the priest she had met during her endurance training had said that good news was coming soon and that an appropriate position had been reserved for her.
It was clear that there had been rumors circulating within the church about her.
‘What kind of status did they decide to give me that the Archbishop Duke is being so friendly?’
Could it be that they’ve designated her as a saint…? As soon as the thought crossed her mind, she felt ridiculous for even considering it.
At that moment, the ancient symbol for the number one on the left sleeve of the approaching wizard’s robe came into her view. The first wizard of the Magic Tower. The symbol of the Tower Master.
She touched her forehead. Glancing at Bliss, she could see that he was openly displeased.
‘Is this combination even going to work?’
She silently recalled the past.
The Valenti-Darien combination had been fine in the end, and the Lennon-Darien combination… well, those two had happily eaten her down to the bone. The problem was that Darien and Bliss were clearly on much worse terms than the first two combinations.
The likelihood of a clash was high. But that wasn’t where the problem ended.
